Not exactly new but a clearer picture of the bear from Annihilation.

That's more disturbing that I thought.
I am NOT clicking that. Guess I'll have to see this movie now.
I thought the scream was the freakiest part about that thing.
i definitely don't remember the human face on the side of the bear's head. i thought it was just a bear with skin missing on the head/snout. did they purposefully light it so it was harder to see? did yall spot it in the movie?
Noticed it on my second viewing, and then noticed the human looking eye on the third. At least I think it's supposed to be human. It makes sense since it's part of the human skull and in the book instead of a bear the biologist noticed a dolphin with human eyes.
it's been awhile since I've seen it, but wasn't the idea with the bear meant to be that one woman that died to it very early on semi-fused with it? that it wasn't the bear just mimicking her death cries, but that her mind may have actually become part of the bear as it killed her? I remember the other woman saying something to that effect just before she turned into a fuckin tree. so yeah maybe that's why some human features started cropping up on it. I'd be curious if the eye color matches to her as well, or if you can see the human skull when it first attacked them at the base camp.god i love movies that warrant repeat viewings like this.
Nah, her eyes are green, but still, it makes sense.
reading the thread of the tweet, it seems that the idea is that it's a refraction of the husband's tattoo combined with the dna of everything in the shimmer. the tattoo also manifested itself on the corpse of the previous expedition team's moving-guts-man near the armpit.
o kewl. im reading the tweets now. this is a little confusing since apparentlythere was two tattoos, but I only remember ever seeing the ouroboros one. so was his tattoo a bear or something then?christ i need to watch this movie again.
ye, it's on his shoulder and chest.
while we're talking about Alex Garland, he apparently wrote another script that's quickly moving into production now
TriStar Pictures Lands Alex Garland Script ‘Toymaker’s Secret’ –..
“The Toymaker’s Secret” tells the story of an American family who moves
into an old Victorian house in London and begins to believe it might be
haunted."
tho it's being pegged as a family film surprisingly. The scripts been in high demand not surprisingly, and guess who's gonna be making their directoral debut with it??
Alex Garland's Wife, Paloma Baeza. That's sweet.
Hot off the heels of the success of 'A Quiet Place', John Krasinski has again been signed by Paramount Pictures to again direct a sci-fi thriller, this time called "Life on Mars"
"Life on Mars will be an adaptation of a short story by Cecil Castellucci titled We Have Always Lived on Mars, which follows a group of people living in a colony on Mars long after a cataclysm on Earth. When one of the women finds that she can breathe the Martian air, it upends the life of everyone in the colony."
yeah probably least surprising news right here lol. He's def found a genre he can work with.

Good creature design deserves all the praise it can get
Nearly the entire third act of The Predator was re-shot, according to star Keegan-Michael Key
The Predator Reshoots Have Changed Most Of The Third Act
good god
I would be sadmad right now cause "Prexican drug dealers get jacked up, let's build a space wall", but fuck A24 is on a rarely seen tirade of quality that's really gonna make me sad when they big and fat and start churning out dumb.
"I'm still betting on Black" says increasingly worried fan
Well he did write all that great stuff and especially The Nice Guys, and he also did write IM3, which some pretty slick character dialog and some butt awful ass plot, and I'm gonna guess Predator doesn't need character building as a strong suit.
Same thing happened to the first one.
Yeah, but that was more or less because they moved to a new location after changing the design of the suit and hiring a new actor.
The "It" sequel continues to net big name stars, not surprisingly, as now both James McAvoy and Bill Hader are currently in talks to play the roles of grown up Bill Benbrough and Richie Tozier, respectively.

And so the John Wick ripoffs begin...
Obviously derivaitive, but the cast is good enough I'll def check it.
More Goldblum is always a plus (especially as a villain). Jodie Foster, too. Might be a fun watch.

So Spielberg is directing DCs Blackhawks.

Fine by me, DC has a huge back catalog of characters that aren't just capes they make films from.
New trailer for Hereditary has me even more excited.
Haven't been this hyped for a horror film in years.
