Despite the laughable attempts of British actors on Russian accent, this looks actually pretty good. Good, but niche because I doubt that many people will be interested in a crime thriller set in Soviet Russia.

He isn't Harrison Ford reincarnate, he isn't the exact same dude, that'd be borin. Pratt is like the slacker harrison Ford.
it will only work if ford returns as dr. jones sr.
Can't keep Sir Harry down!

In addition to Chris Pratt maybe being Indiana Jones and starring in the Magnificent Seven remake, he's also tapped to star in Cowboy Ninja Viking, directed by guys who did John Wick.

jesus christ
i understand chris pratt is now a name that can guarantee revenue but that's a little overkill
i'm fine with him in guardians and jurassic world, hell i'm even open to the indiana jones bit, but hollywood stop overusing the same fucking actors just because you are all greedy corporate jew bastards who can't get enough shekels.
Oh hey, isn't that the Ryan Gosling film that bombed so hard at Cannes that it couldn't find any distributor for eight months? I'm intrigued.

Sir Ian McKellen as 93yo Sherlock Holmes. Enough said.

Wow that acting is beyond horrible, but the movie itself looks pretty interesting.

I agree, it reminds me of Only God Forgives, a disaster, but a fascinating one at that. Colour me interested.
Ogf was great one of the best films of 2013 but yea I'm intrigued in lost river more out of curiosity than expectations of greatness. Looks more like a Harmony Korine film than Refn which is interesting because again that's something to be curious about
Speaking of, I'm pretty sure Harmony Korine is currently filming his next feature film. He described it as his most next level film lmao there's no real info about it, but a Korine film is worthy of note because of his name, not the plot (assuming this one has a notable plot :v:)

I personally liked Only God Forgives too, the reason I say it was a disaster is because of the sheer amount of polarised opinions about it. I think it was one of the most vocal responses I've ever seen towards a film and I admired it for that, plus I was dazzled along by the incredible visual style.
I don't mind Harmony Korine either, I remember quite liking Spring Breakers and I was thinking about checking out Mister Lonely next.
so some pictures have been released from the poltergeist reboot

sam rockwell is the dad so i have some hope, but i know this won't beat the original.

Is it just me or are all of these movies after the third one exactly the same?
they're all kind of similar but who cares cos Fast 5 and 6 are straight up two of the best Hollywood action movies of the last decade they own hard as hell. 7 should be sick too, but it is a different director than the last few. Still looks good tho
poltergeist trailer

eeeeeeeh no. they flooded it with jump scares. might still be worth seeing for rockwell, but i'm betting this will be another overall "meh" remake. thank god we'll always have the original.
Could just be for the trailer. Seems people don't go to see horror movies unless they look like all the others ones they've seen.

First reviews from Berlinale are mostly very positive, comparing the film more to Tree of Life than To The Wonder. But even more interesting is what Bale and Portman said about production of the film:
"Malick didn’t tell us what [the film] was about,"
"He really just gave me the character description. We worked on the character a great deal, worked on his back story."
"I never had any lines to learn, but I’d see other people, and they’d have pages. I’d always look over their shoulders to see what it was that I was going to be told,"
"I never knew what I was going to be doing each day."
"He liked to call it "torpedoing" us, with different actors and non-actors, to get a very real response."

"He actually reminded me that the rules of filmmaking are not necessary; the way we do things, the rituals that we have aren’t necessary."
"If it starts raining, then you shoot in the rain, you don’t change the schedule to shoot something different, which you would normally do in a film,"
Looks like I'm a complete hip-hop ignorant because after watching this I was convinced it's a documentary with real Dre and Ice Cube till I was proved otherwise:

oh so it's cube's son playing him, didn't know that, was wondering how they'd gotten such a similar looking guy
hitman agent 47 trailer

looks like it barely has anything from the games in it but will probably be a better movie than the last one.
i enjoyed parts of it
but they really ought to use david bateson, the va and likeliness of 47.
looks like it barely has anything from the games in it but will probably be a better movie than the last one.

Fucking anything is better than that other Hitman movie.
No it's not. The last one had Timothy Olyphant which was kinda cool as 47, at least much more faithful to this guy's version, and it had at least ONE super stealth scene. Which was cool. Which lasted for 30 second in a hour and a half film.
They both look similar, and both look like shit, but this Voodoo Child dubstep shit I just watched may be even worse than Max Payne adaptation.

I was expecting this to flop so hard, but instead it looks really decent and stylish. Very Guy Ritche's. Is it going to be like Kingsmen: Secret Service all over again?
Del Toro.
