That dude in the background looks so badly shopped in.
No, basically jesus was an engineer and we killed him, so the jockeys wrote us off and also seeded everything around us with the aliems, so that pretty much anywhere we go, we're fucked unless we stay in the hell of our own devising (earth), david and shaw have really awkward headless sex, a jockey alien wrecks stuff and/or people, blasted out airlock, roll credits
What will Shaw give birth to this time?

given that literally cannot keep his hands to himself, probably the entire resurrection cast

Maybe in this movie the green crystal thing actually does something.
Like Chekov's Gun, but over 2 movies.

I know it's probably just "Alien prop #569" but it kinda irked me on how they gave it screentime like that.
Ridley Scott returns to the universe he created in ALIEN with ALIEN: COVENANT, the second chapter in a prequel trilogy that began with PROMETHEUS — and connects directly to Scott’s 1979 seminal work of science fiction. Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole inhabitant is the “synthetic” David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.
Well that's a bit different. Odd that it doesn't mention Shaw at all. I'm guessing a chunk of, or perhaps nearly the entire film, is gonna be David recapping what happened to Shaw just before the Covenant ship showed up or something??
Also I love how much of a clusterfuck that first sentence in that synopsis is.
I'm thinking LV-426 was the "paradise" David was talking about at the end of Prometheus, and the crashed ship there is the one Shaw took, but there happened to be some black goo onboard that started to turn the Engineers into Xenomorphs. The Deacon will probably show up, having evolved into an Ultramorph.

I don't know, the more I think about this, the more I get frustrated with with Prometheus because if they just stuck to the original script there wouldn't be a need for Covenant.
RIDLEY SCOTT returns to ALIEN after making ALIEN with ALIEN: COVENANT the sequel to PROMETHEUS, the prequel to ALIEN that will be followed by ALIEN: COVENANT
See the Prequel to ALIEN this 2017 soon after ALIEN 5 the NOT SEQUEL to ALIEN: RESURRECTION

Man I can't wait for ALIEN: RAIDERS OF THE LOST PLOTLINE
I'm honestly only half joking when I ask how long it will be until they rename it to be ALIEN: Prometheus?
Also if you're not going to show a regular fucking Xenomorph, don't call it an "Alien" film that's like making "King Kong: Rise of a Bigass Motherfuckin' Ape" and it only stars a pissed off nature documentary crew.

Seeing on how they've really been hammering it in that this is basically the branching chapter, I don't think we'll have to worry about that. Ridley's probably learned his lesson on that one.

I wonder if McConaghey is still attached to The Stand? I could have sworn he was set to play Stu Redman, but either way, he'd do a kickass job as Flagg.
The only thing that I want to see elaborated on is the weird backdrop skeleton seen in a cut shot from the first Alien film, it was the size (and was part of) a mountain

Was a piece of old art modified to have more distinct form, though no idea what the other skeletons are
Ryan Gosling has recently confirmed earlier rumours about being a part of Blade Runner 2, now Ridley Scott described in great detail the first scene in the screenplay:
[sp]"We decided to start the film off with the original starting block of the original film. We always loved the idea of a dystopian universe, and we start off at what I describe as a 'factory farm' - what would be a flat land with farming.
"Wyoming. Flat, not rolling - you can see for 20 miles. No fences, just ploughed, dry dirt. Turn around and you see a massive tree, just dead, but the tree is being supported and kept alive by wires that are holding the tree up. It's a bit like Grapes of Wrath, there's dust, and the tree is still standing. By that tree is a traditional, Grapes of Wrath-type white cottage with a porch.
"Behind it at a distance of two miles, in the twilight, is this massive combine harvester that's fertilising this ground. You've got 16 Klieg lights on the front, and this combine is four times the size of this cottage. And now a spinner [a flying car] comes flying in, creating dust.
"Of course, traditionally chased by a dog that barks, the doors open, a guy gets out and there you've got Rick Deckard. He walks in the cottage, opens the door, sits down, smells stew, sits down and waits for the guy to pull up to the house to arrive.
"The guy's seen him, so the guy pulls the combine behind the cottage and it towers three stories above it, and the man climbs down from a ladder - a big man. He steps onto the balcony and he goes to Harrison's side. The cottage actually [creaks]; this guy's got to be 350 pounds.[/sp] I'm not going to say anything else - you'll have to go see the movie.”
a fucking farm? god damnit? nobody wants a farm from blade runner, i want a dark, neon lit city.
Kind of cool they're using the original opening. The way they described it in the making of sounded rather interesting.

It's one skeleton, ala jockey.
Ash notices it, and then tells the group it's nothing. (They can't tell what it is from the ground)
