FOTY material. Nichols is a genius.
Damn that looks fucking fantastic.
there are a couple of cool shots but it doesn't look, like, incredible or anything tbh

this movie will be an absolute piece of shit
that said, the casting is pretty tight
Nikolaj Coster-Waldau as Horus
Brenton Thwaites as Bek
Gerard Butler as Set
Geoffrey Rush as Ra
Elodie Yung as Hathor
Chadwick Boseman as Thoth
Courtney Eaton as Zaya
Rufus Sewell as Urshu
Abbey Lee as Anat
i fully plan to go see this piece of shit with friends, and rip it to pieces.
That CG is terrrible.

Perfect movie to watch with a bunch of friends while getting drunk in the process.

Oh I'm definitely going to see it.
It would be much better if they were to keep the animal mask throughout the entire film.

Possibly a trailer on Sunday.
hope it's not Cliche': the Movie, like the last one was
edit:
slap all the disagrees and dumbs you like, I have yet to hear a valid argument in defense of it.
the fact that humans were underdeveloped didn't really bother me, after all it was a movie about caesar and the other apes' rise to power
I still haven't seen a single of the new Ape movies.
I still haven't seen a single of the new Ape movies.
i honestly went to the theater expecting it to suck
it was a fantastic surprise to be proven wrong that day, and the sequel was just as good, if not better.
the planet of the apes reboots are one of the few reboots that are actually good. i should go back and watch the originals sometime. especially the second just because it was such a fucking strange movie.
The first one was a bit meh, but the second one was surprisingly good.

lol, doesn't like being rated anything so calls us out, we don't need to defend it, we just disagree.. we don't have to argue back

I don't care about ratings, I just found that movie incredibly cliche and formulaic and woder how many other people don't see it in the same way. I've never heard anything in defense of it regarding this aspect and I'm just curious about what others have to say... slapping a disagree tells me nothing, but I understand this isn't really a debate thread.
Rise isn't amazing or anything but Dawn was fantastic imo.

I want to see this.
apes reboot is boring blockbuster trash
[editline]24th November 2015[/editline]
if you like it you fell for it stop giving them money for reboots and remakes for fuck sake
Maybe.
The first ad was really cliche and cringey, this is a lot better but still super contrived, even for Disney fare.
they're a heartless cgi fest with dumb sweeping messages 'WHAT DOES IT MEANT TO BE HUMAN ARE THE APES HUMAN TOO ARE WE THE BAD GUYS????????????????'

rusty, you're getting into that "looking further into it than necessary" mode again like you did with spectre.
did you forget the first film was made back in the 60s and was basically charlton heston fucking shit up in the most un-pc way possible? yeah these films explore more of caesar's side of shit but don't go in expecting citizen kane or something.
the best thing to take away from these movies are how fucking awesome andy serkis is at the whole motion-capture performance thing. like the originals, their costumes and makeup were big for its time, and this time the mo-cap is pushing the industry. it's like tron, those movies are basically made for the special effects.

that's not an excuse though? you can have all that and a good narrative.
accepting mediocrity is what got us in this hollywood situation. people need to stop being okay with it.
You watch too much RLM bro

I had fun. I know that's a hard thing to understand but I thought the second one was pretty good.
Sorry to hear that it didn't hit all of your expectations though
You watch too much RLM bro
