i thought the TMNT reboot was supposed to be trash? im surprised you guys have so much hope for the 2nd one tbh
oh it is, i couldn't make it past 10 minutes in the first one
i expect the new one to be just as bad as it's clearly following the same pattern with transformers.
New High-Rise trailer finally highlights its plot, but in all honesty you still know fuck all about it

The marketing for this film is absolutely stunning.
com truise track, nice
I know shit all about this movie and yet it's one I'm seriously looking forward too. March can't come soon enough.
Well, after the prometheus sequel news that Noomi Rapace would be cut entirely and that Michael Fassbender would be joining not once but twice, comes the news that the next addition will probably be, uh, Danny McBride.

weird casting so far
covenant is expected to be the start of a trilogy that will connect the two together? sooo is this basically just shoving prometheus into the ground and forgetting it existed? why couldn't we just get the old two prequels instead of all of this nonsense?
I could see Danny McBride being a kind of Parker or Brett character, so this is fine by me.
It could totally ruin the mysterious atmosphere of the perfect first movie.
After everything in Prometheus, I sincerely doubt that.
I'm scared that Alien prequels are going to ruin the Alien franchise by giving everything extremely complex and retarded rules regarding how the aliens work and what their purpose is.

well, yes and no. if they get more hack writers like lindelof on board, then yeah it's guaranteed to be instant dumpster shit.
however, i think it's best we just ignore everything outside of the first three films. isolation is a neat sidequel, and that's basically the only exception i'll make.

how
i mean i guess i respect a little bit how not subtle they're being
It baffles me that the writers of Prometheus seemed to have fought constantly over whether or not it was in the Alien franchise, massive stuff was cut from the original scripts that would tie it to the series, including stuff that made the movie actually sensible and logical. That is entirely outside of the nonsense that was whatever the fuck the editors were doing when they cut out stuff that they actually filmed

I've only seen the first Purge movie, but didn't like it that much. Is the second one more based in the streets with the people participating in the Purge?
This third one could at least be entertaining if it's done half-decently. But, it's probably just another franchise that will be multiplied into oblivion.
iirc the 2nd purge was still bad but less so because it had frank grillo
looks like they realized that
2nd purge was fun because after a little while it forgets it's supposed to be a horror movie and turns into a campy action movie.

Hell even some Blade Runner could've made it in

The Purge sounds like a concept that would have come out in the 80's, so a part of me kinda likes it.
I don't think the purge is considered horror, more like a political suspense thriller.
"Based on a novel written by John Le Carre" is the only recommendation I ever need. The trailer looks weak, but if the movie doesn't get far away from the book then it's gonna be amazing.

That's the impression I got from the trailer. I might just check this one out now.
I just like to pretend there's one Alien film tbh
Aliens is a fun movie and a staple of 80s culture, but it's so different from the first one that it feels almost weird as a sequel and it doesn't really have the same feeling that makes the first one so effective to me. It's just nothing more than a simple, fun movie to me. But I can totally see why some people prefer it to the first one.
The third one was mediocre, even with the Assembly Cut. I think it gets a little too much hate, but it's really not worth defending much.
The fourth one and the AVP movies are garbage and not really worth talking about. Prometheus was just...okay. It's got some really crisp looking, gorgeous cinematography and the interior cave designs for the planet they land on were excellent and really gave off that feeling of isolation that the first one had to a degree, but it was butchered by plot holes and stupid character motivations, along with just leaving us with more questions than we had before we saw the movie.
I'm looking forward to how they follow up Prometheus, but only because the universe is getting larger and I've been a fan for too long. I keep going back to the Alien movies thinking they're going to have the same sense of discovery and fear that the first one had. I hear a lot of people say that the first Alien is boring or too slow and it blows my mind. It's slow burning, but you're learning more and more about the alien as the characters do and with every new discovery about it that they find, the scarier it becomes.
Also, some of the special effects still genuinely hold up today, and since it was made in the 70s, the subtle film grain and the claustrophobic, sterile industrial setting only make it more of a feast for the eyes.

Aliens is my favorite movie of all time. Yes, Alien had great effects but it was taken to a whole other level in Aliens. When I watch the action in Aliens, I never for a moment feel like I'm looking at stuntmen in costumes. I look at the screen and I'm watching these characters actually get chased by aliens.
I like Alien better than Aliens and I've never seen the other ones because I heard they aren't very good.
alien 3 assembly cut is good
so there's a teaser for the teaser of the new ghostbusters reboot.
but instead of linking to the actual one, here's a slightly altered one that's better. it's just the ending, everything else is the same.

Get hype y'all

I was sold on that movie from the first trailer so I'm gonna refrain from watching any more.
alien 3 assembly cut is good
Certainly a hell of a lot better than that theatrical version we got. Alien 3 isn't as bad as people say it is.
Rumored title for Shane Blacks new Predator film is "The Predator", thanks to this recently posted image on the official FB page.

Time to see a great film franchise get whored out for SICK CASH BRUV
again
again
Predators wasn't awful, Shane Black is a good director and he's been tied to the franchise since the first film and its not a reboot, relax until we see something worth shitting on.
The only out right awful parts of the Predator franchise have been the AvP films really.
You'll the never see him predator coming.
