Not sure if it goes in here or the BvS thread, but here's a group picture of the villains in the LEGO batman movie:

Guys, when I say "Half-Life movie" I mean it in spirit, not literally a Half-Life movie. You've got a silent protagonist, first-person view constantly throughout the film (that we've seen so far), and the dude has augmented abilities. Only thing it's really missing is aliens.
I'm quite certain that an official HL movie would royally fuck some of that up, and especially considering JJ Abrams is involved with it, it's guaranteed to suck and be filled with unnecessary shit.

By that logic it's also the Doom movie and also the Quake movie or any out of the thousands of FPS games with silent protagonists.

Well it looks like Villeneuve doesn't have anything lined up after the Blade Runner sequel, which is already gonna be filming in just a few months. So hopefully he'll return to direct it. Because if not fuck that.

For one thing, sicario is not a film that warrants a sequel, second it hardly made anything and barely got any academy award nominations, and third, it's april 1st. Even if someone posted an article yesterday, it's still more than likely a prank.

It still made 80 million on a 30 million budget so it's not like it was a failure either. But really tho do you honestly think a follow-up story to a long reported sicario sequel that just announces that the cast is returning is really gonna be a 'prank'? Like you already said, it wasn't a super smash hit. Nobody would care about a prank like that lol..

It doesn't warrant a sequel and that's where the beauty may lay. You have basically an open story with established world and characters, you can do anything and go in any direction you like. If written correctly it can become even better than the original.
As always it's the high risk game and the chances that it'll actually become great are thin.
