Not sure how I feel about the fantasy elements. If it was more like Excalibur I think it would seem better
It's just that TBWP is one of my favourite spook movies of all time. They already tried cashing in on the property once already with that awful sequel. Just leave it in peace.

Some grenades explode on impact, others have a sort of timer in them.
Based on an original idea by Legendary CEO Thomas Tull and World War Z author Max Brooks, explores the mysteries behind the construction of The Great Wall in China as we follow two 15th century British soldiers who get caught up in the havoc caused by some inhuman element that the builders are trying to keep out.
james why
I remember the times where I was excited for this project because it was Leo attached for the lead.

Matt Damon as the lead of a film about the fucking great war of china?
Couldn't they had gotten an asian lead at least?
I assume he's one of the british soldiers. Not a lot of asian brits, and even less in the 15th century.
But why even make the protagonist a british soldier in the first place? It's not a historical biopic or anything and he just looks out of place
But why even make the protagonist a british soldier in the first place? It's not a historical biopic or anything and he just looks out of place
I guess the big wigs think that not everybody can identify with asian protagonists.
But why even make the protagonist a british soldier in the first place? It's not a historical biopic or anything and he just looks out of place
Because if they're already making one of the most expensive films in the history then why not have one of the hottest lead actors in the world right now? Out of all the elements it's Damon's presence that's going to definitely pay itself off.

Late war Japanese grenades were notoriously unreliable and had wildly varying fuses due to shortages and massed production of them. There are reports of grenades either exploding the instant the pin is pulled, or taking minutes to detonate (if at all).
Park Chan-wook is back. Pretty old trailer for our standards, but haven't seen it posted here

oh boy, it's not fake.
About time they released it. It's been mostly leaked on Twitter since like yesterday lol. I'll watch it when I get home.
Pooooooooooostal
Gonna take the lazy way out and just make a thread in videos forum then move it to GD later and add to it
Holy shit, it's barely under a year away.
Well, this is a wait that's going to kill me.
Looking goooood
Although Nolan has often major flaws on rewatches most of his stuff is great on the first watch and I'm also a sucker for war films so I'm hyped.
Not really new, but I just came across this movie stuck in production limbo:
Empires of the Deep is a 3D action-adventure fantasy film conceived by Jon Jiang, directed by Michael French, written by Randall Frakes and starring Olga Kurylenko. It was described by the production team as "an unlikely love story between a young human and a mermaid... set in a mythical world," against the backdrop of a war among the titular 'empires of the deep' such as the crabs. It is reported to be a major US-Chinese co-production, its production budget reaching over $130 million.

In December 2014 the movie was announced as complete and due for release in China in December 2015 after almost 5 years of post-production mostly coming from the visual effects, the budget is now well over USD$140 million. As of August 2016, the film remains unreleased, going through 4 directors, 10 scriptwriters and with many of the acting, production and technical crews still unpaid.
