I'm not really looking forward to J-law lately she's been really stale at acting

So their entire idea was to make Bill Skargard look like Cameron Monaghan? :v: I'm not sure how to feel about this. Accidentally catching "It" on television left lasting results on my childhood, partly because Curry's Pennywise looked like he could've been a real clown.
that design would be cool in a fantasy movie, but it's way too overblown and misses the point. Pennywise isn't the ancient monster here, It is. Pennywise is just a thing It wears because that helps it catch kids. the horror comes from Pennywise seeming merely uncanny and out of place, then murdering you. if he's designed to be a monster all the time then he's just a monster. they should be looking more at villains like Michael Myers - understated designs in tandem with good directing. Michael Myers' mask is just a mask. his boilersuit is just a boilersuit. his knife is just a knife. but this stripped-down presence suggests more about his true nature than it could ever outright state.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/OMQvS5n.jpg[/t] Meet the new Pennywise
looks like generic overdesigned modern shit. like Insidious or something. something that's not actually scary but designed to 'look' scary to the masses. but not too scary, so they see the movie. why do you even need to redesign pennywise anyway. just have it the same?
I wish Hollywood would just stop with remakes. I don't recall any of them being good
I wish Hollywood would just stop with remakes. I don't recall any of them being good
Does it count as a remake if it's an adaptation of the same source material? There are so many ways you could adapt a book. The TV movie of "It" is not the limit. I'm not going to argue in favor of cramming a thousand pages of Sephen King into two hours of film, because that's indefensibly retarded, but you have to understand that the movie and the tv special with twice it's running time will be different enough to not be the same thing.
it's just a shame that they've clearly already fucked it up [editline]17th August 2016[/editline] the tv movie pennywise is perfection and literally can't be improved on. the actual film sure, but the character is as good as it can get. why you'd change that is beyond me. you could literally just get tim curry back, it doesn't even matter under clown makeup
-Arrival trailer-
Why did I watch that pile of spoilers.
oh boy i was not aware of any of that
He is permanently wheelchair bound, iirc. However he is recovering and getting better.
Definitely better than the last time I saw him. The picture of him on the red carpet and his eyes so gaunt made me sad
I wish Hollywood would just stop with remakes. I don't recall any of them being good
De Palma's Scarface is a remake. So is Carpenter's The Thing. Oh, and also Cronenberg's The Fly. Scorsese's The Departed. Leone's Fistful of Dollars. Coens' True Grit. And many many more.

Looks cool and all but is it really worth the time and money?
he took a lot longer to spin around than i imagined he would
"Usually we'd have the character be a digital representation, but this time wanted him real. So we had him jump off a platform so everything else in the shot would be added in digitally." Or so it seemed.
Looks cool and all but is it really worth the time and money?
Actually yeah
So, newest Scorsese's "Silence" is due for Christmas limited release, we should get first teaser anytime soon. The film itself is 3 hours 16 minutes. It stars Liam Neeson, Adam Driver and Andrew Garfield, and all you need to know it's about Jesuits in Japan in 19th Century, and it's the most anticipated film of the year.
Rarely I get the opportunity to post here something from my own homeland, something that would be worth sharing. Yet this film looks like it could be our best movie of the year and serious contender to major non-English awards.
speaking of polish films what's you opinion of on the silver globe seeing as you can see it in its intended language?
One of the best polish-speaking sci-fi you'll find, one of the best made on this side of Iron Curtain, film way ahead of its time. I'm glad that nowadays I hear about it more frequently and people are not discouraged with Żuławski's style and themes.
