How does it feel it be wrong.
Dunno, it feels good to be right though.
so it's okay when nolan does it, but when anyone else does it it's shit? nah. the dark knight is incredibly flawed. well shot and acted, but that's about it. it's highly overrated, and not even a good batman movie. a good standalone movie and all that on its own, but hardly batman.
How can one person have so many wrong opinions.
SO yeah remember those viral videos for Prometheus? Those were actually directed by Ridley Scott's son, Luke Scott. They were pretty awesome, and apparently now he's doing a full length film. Trailer just dropped: Hope it's good.
reviews are coming in now https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/771444018/ welp not a very good sign so far
reviews are coming in now https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/771444018/ welp not a very good sign so far
5/7 top critic reviews are positive so I have a little hope.
Bruce Willis, Dean Norris and Vincent D'Onoforio has been cast in the Eli Roth's remake of 1974's Death Wish
I wonder how they will include penis mutilation this time.
If you're curious, there are first reviews of Villeneuve's Arrival straight out of Venice Film Festival:
The audience’s reaction to this is likely to fall somehow on the spectrum between “Whoa!” and “Huh?” In “Arrival,” it’s a muddled idea, intriguing but not really developed. [sp]Yet the film ties it in with a backstory that frames the action, about Louise and the daughter who (in an extended prologue) she watched grow into adulthood and die. There’s a surprise circularity to the structure of “Arrival” that some may find pleasing, but there’s also a circular logic to it: The aliens have come to offer a weapon, which isn’t really a weapon, it’s a new way to order time, but the only one it seems to apply to is Louise, which makes the whole purpose of their visit seem an awfully far-fetched conceit.[/sp] At its best, “Arrival” has an eerie grandeur, but if the film starts off as neo-Spielberg, it winds up as neo-Christopher Nolan meets neo-Terrence Malick — it turns into an ersatz mind-bender. You feel you’ve had a close encounter with what might have been an amazing movie, but not actual contact.
http://variety.com/2016/film/reviews/arrival-review-venice-film-festival-amy-adams-1201849485/ [editline]1st September 2016[/editline] Actualy fuck it, here's RT for it, going real strong, but I guess it will come down: https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/arrival_2016 [editline]1st September 2016[/editline] And for La La Land which apparently have a chance to be a much better film than Whiplash, currently at 100% with all ratings over 9/10 https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/la_la_land
Holy (pun intended) fuck.
damn, now there's a premise
Paolo Sorrentino, nice.
Damn, that's a cool cast
reviews are coming in now https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/771444018/ welp not a very good sign so far
What is the general opinion on Kate Mara? I can't say I am a big fan, though she was ok in House of Cards. Just thinking that she has unfortunately been in a bunch of floppy movies.
She's cute but that's all I can say.
I like her, but she's not really a selling point for me.
Speaking of Mara, let's talk about her more talented sister, Rooney. She had a film premiere last week on Telluride Film Festival along with genius Ben Mendelsohn called Una. The basis for the film is "the victim meets her predator after twenty years since the abuse", and it was a very divisive film there - with people both hating and praising the premise and its execution. Can't wait to see it. Meanwhile, Mel Gibson stole audience's hearts with his new feature Hacksaw Ridge in Venice receiving 10 minutes ovation.
Did he direct it or star in it? I still haven't seen blood father yet.
Did he direct it or star in it? I still haven't seen blood father yet.
Directed, his first since Apocalypto 10 years ago, it stars Andrew Garfield and Vince Vaughn for strange reason. I'd post a trailer here, but it basically gives away 95% of the film.
Were they deliberately attempting to brush his involvement under the carpet? What the hell, I had no idea

Despite Mel Gibson doing some shitty things he really is a solid actor and director.
Despite Mel Gibson doing some shitty things he really is a solid actor and director.
In all fairness I don't think he deserves the kind of treatment he got from the Hollywood, he got blacklisted almost like it's the 50s. Maybe I'm just indulgent, because I don't think Polański should be further prosecuted too. Evil Dead(2013) directors cut is getting a mass release. Back in 2015 it was accidentally broadcast on British TV instead of the original http://bloody-disgusting.com/movie/3405863/fede-alvarezs-evil-dead-getting-blu-ray-directors-cut/

Not to mention a lot of the material cut made the movie feel more like the original Evil Dead, so it's a win-win. Although it's a bummer they didn't do this earlier [editline]9th September 2016[/editline] Ben Affleck's new movie [t]http://static.srcdn.com/slir/w1000-h1481-q90-c1000:1481/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/Ben-Affleck-Live-By-Night-poster.jpg[/t] Based on Dennis Lehane's novel. Whether or not Affleck will adapt the book's sequel, World Gone By is currently unknown.

Looks absolutely sick
