Sony, desperate for a franchise hit, are fast tracking an Uncharted movie. Joe Carnahan wrote the latest draft, but is directing the third Bad Boys movie (and not focusing on White Jazz like he fucking should). Shawn Levy of the Night at the Museum franchise is directing instead.
He also more recently directed two episodes of Stranger Things.
Despite my distaste for most (or all) video game movie adaptations, I don't think that Uncharted is an exceptionally difficult place to start. You could re-tell the entire series. Or you could just start it like a new game, with all previous knowledge assumed without a lot of exposition. But, knowing Sony and the fact they are fast tracking it instead of actually keeping their IPs precious, they will just make a generic action flick with some A-list actor who is in it for the pay. They could really make an interesting franchise of films, especially if they just took the lore from the original and the light-hearted feel and ran with it. A new set of characters in relation to Drake instead of Drake himself would be good. Casting is the issue with the original characters. Everyone has an ideal Drake, and the movies never get that shit right.
Sony potentially has a huge movie franchise on their hands if they do Uncharted right. Uncharted could be the new Indiana Jones. Never replace Indiana Jones but that fun adventure type of movie needs to come back and Uncharted could do it
Dios mio, man

looks enjoyable. im biased though, I love space movies.
looks like a mix between alien and gravity.
looks enjoyable. im biased though, I love space movies.
and jake gylenhall is a good actor too
Even tho the first one isn't out yet, casting is still underway for the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them sequel... starting with the addition of Johhny Depp www.comingsoon.net/movies/news/782205-johnny-depp-fantastic-beasts-2 tho he may cameo in the first one
I'm okay with Depp. Also, no wonder they do this already. It's pretty much not going to bomb. Trailer material already looks good. It's made by the same people behind the HP movies and written by Rowling.
would be such a shame if it sucked
I wonder if the later movies will tie in with the Harry Potter trilogy at all, even if it's something small like Dumbledore being present or something.

I really hope Ares will turn up to be the main antagonist
I really hope Ares will turn up to be the main antagonist
I feel like Danny Huston is Ares posing as a general to fuel the Great War.
I really hope Ares will turn up to be the main antagonist
Seems to be [sp]Dr. Poison. She's the one with the bit of mask on her face. The Duke of Deception is the one she's whipping full force into the truck[/sp]

Deadpool 2's composer Junkie XL walks after Tim Miller left the project http://www.comingsoon.net/movies/news/782907-deadpool-2-loses-composer-junkie-xl#/slide/1
Dear friends, It is with a heavy heart that I have decided not to score the upcoming Deadpool Movie. I love this character and creating his and the movie's original score was a monumental chapter in my life, personally and professionally. Since it was revealed that Deadpool's brilliant creative director Tim Miller will not be involved in the project anymore, I have undertaken some soul searching. Tim was the driving force behind Deadpool and me getting involved in this amazing project. Deadpool without Tim at the helm just does not sit right with me and that is why I have decided not to be involved in the second chapter. It was a difficult decision, as I love the project so much and I know how eagerly the next installment will be anticipated, it's hard to walk away from something so unique, but it also has to feel right. Hope everyone understands. Onward and upward. Love, Tom
this film sure is off to a bumpy start and in other news, Olivia Munn has joined the new Predator movie, which has now also had its location confirmed: http://www.comingsoon.net/movies/news/782997-olivia-munn-joins-shane-blacks-the-predator#/slide/1 " The trade has also revealed that the harsh setting where all the action and terror will play out will be… suburbia. Yes, it will be a Predator slicing and dicing his way through schoolyards, church picnics and Walmarts. Didn’t see that coming!" taking a page from Predator 2 i see.
suburbia
After the cinematic tour de force that was AvPR, normally I would be flipping a table but it's Shane Black so it's all good-
Olivia Munn
*flips a table*
i enjoyed deadpool more because of the events surrounding the movie than i did the movie itself. but the sequel's been such a downer so far, it just won't have the same feel even if it's competent
I don't hate Olivia Munn, so I'm fine with her casting
Deadpool 2's composer Junkie XL walks after Tim Miller left the project http://www.comingsoon.net/movies/news/782907-deadpool-2-loses-composer-junkie-xl#/slide/1 this film sure is off to a bumpy start
It's Ant-Man all over again, though at least this time it seems switching director may actually be a good thing. Junkie XL does fantastic scores though so it's a shame he left.
Oh cool!
Mark Swift and Damian Shannon, the writing duo behind the upcoming Zac Efron-Dwayne Johnson 'Baywatch' movie, will write the script for the alien-bug war film.
Fuck off
have they learned nothing from the critical and commercial reboot failures of 2016
Oh cool! Fuck off
Apparently it's gonna be based more on the original novel.
Apparently it's gonna be based more on the original novel.
Reading up on the two who are writing it, I don't know if they'd have the chops to pull it off. I think tastefully tackling the novel would be fairly hard work for a good group of writers. I'm not sure they'd be able to do it well. I do hope I'm wrong, though. I love the novel and the first movie.
A starship troopers based off the novel would be neat. It would definetly be a different movie.
So they're officially remaking all of Paul Verhoeven's best movies. As if that worked out so well before
