There is a certain problem with video games and their adaptations. The problem is, that certain things that work well in games, doesn't necessarily translate well to the big screen. It comes from the fact, that in video games the most important factor is gameplay, rest like story, aesthetics, characters, music - it comes later. So what counts in video game as a good story, might not be ideal for film - great example here is Max Payne. I love this game with all my heart, and I love the story, but would it work on screen? Probably not, not without some heavy rewrites with acknowledging the source material.
Exact same thing is with Hitman. It's one of the most recognizable franchises in the industry, with established backstory and certain key factors to the character. In video game, emotionless character worked well, it allowed for immersion. But in film? Viewers don't want to see a main character they cannot relate with well.
As much as I want this movie to be amazing, I just know it'll turn out a lackluster.
Video game movies rarely become good, but the fact that some director wants to gamble a second shot at the Hitman franchise may mean that it might be something. Then again this movie is the director's debut film, so this might go anywhere.

And this appeared on Comic-Con. I have no idea how to feel about this:

it's mike tyson, voiced by mike tyson, in a clear ripoff of scooby doo
what's not to love about that? you know almost every episode will end in him beating the shit out of the villain and possibly biting their ear off.
Only way to make a good Hitman movie is to remove any emotions from Agent 47.
They tried giving him emotions in the last movie, and we all know how well that worked out.
i don't think that works in movie form. the reason he can be emotionless in the games is because he's an empty vessel for you to control, and you yourself are expressing his emotions for his lack of them.
watching a movie about a dude with no emotion will be painfully boring

Exactly.
So don't make a fucking movie adaptation.
There are other games that would work better as movies, and pull in more money.

after watching expendables, i think jason statham could actually pull off 47 really well, he seems to have a natural monotone in his voice, and i think in the past few solo flicks he's done he's pretty much been an emotionless killer.

A fantasy musical adapted from one of Stephen Sondheim's works
But Christoph Waltz can't return...
Unless Tarantino changed his script drastically, there wasn't any role intended for Waltz. If the cast he had for live reading stays, very short cameo is all you can count for, and even that is generous and naive.
Btw.

And this one

While first Sin City could've passed as a serious film, this one went all Machete Kills. It's only redeeming factor is that it won't be offensively stupid and bad, but mindlessly fun instead, with enough self-awareness.
Tim Burton will be back with a new movie this year. No Depp or Helena

Amy Adams stars as real life painter Margaret Keane, along with Christoph Waltz as her husband, Walter Keane, who took credit for Margaret's works in the 1960s.
you mean a book adaptation?
To be more specific, an action flick targeted towards teenagers and young people based on successful book. And that, to be honest started with Harry Potter.

I remember reading this book (and the rest of the trilogy) 5 years ago. It had a pretty interesting concept but as it went on it got dumber and dumber.
Also it's great to know that the filmmakers are once again following the Hunger Games style of needless futuristic stuff that don't fit in with most of the films that they are adapting (The Giver, anyone?)
Wheeeeeee Johnny Depp

According to Weinstein Company distribution info a teaser of The Hateful Eight will be shown with Sin City 2, and online release of it is not planned. Obviously, shaky cam quality will appear right away, but looks like Quentin is still mad on the internet.
Apparently it consists solely of title cards with possible v.o. from the live read. It's basically nothing, but at least it should clarify the cast.
The first "not-set-leak" photo of Inherent Vice has appeared, this time, it's leaked promotional material:

Damn, that movie will be the shit.
Sasha Grey tries to prove that she has acting skills for something more than just pornstar by playing a superstar that's getting naked in "The 21st century Rear Window" according to some website up there. Introducing Open Window

I tried to stay professional, imagining that maybe, just maybe this won't suck, but I couldn't help but laugh at the typical "blowjob stare" at 1:00.

He looks like Hyde from That 70's Show.

I really hope this film ends with Nazis capturing Brad Pitt and trying to hang him, with only Harvey Keitel rescuing him the last moment and asking him to start "Ingloruous Basterds" initiative.
