Fortunate Son?
yes, given that the film is set in the 60s, during the vietnam war, right when that song came out, it would be perfect to play. also, the poster even makes it look like a vietnam movie.
i hope they don't play any popular songs in the film. probably would be better with actual soundtrack for the full thing.
It is a terrible photoshop though. The upper half is very subdued like a painting, meanwhile on the lower half you got realistic water, the two don't really mix. But whats really off about it is that neither Kong nor the rocks cast any shadow, which makes it look like two separate images simply put together.
I think it's supposed to be like that. Yeah ok, it doesn't mash that well but the effect that they were aiming for (a strange creature that isn't supposed to exist and a fantasy island vs real stuff) is kinda understandable.
here's the trailer

I don't know how to feel. It looks exactly like the movie, but some (most) of the characters have been replaced. It's like an SNL parody version. I think I like everyone in this except Violet. It just needs the music from the movie and we're set.
It looks exactly like the movie, but some (most) of the characters have been replaced.
Probably because Barry Sonnenfeld worked on both projects, producing the first and producing+directing this one (he was originally going to direct the movie but backed out at the last minute). He did the Adams Family and Men In Black movies, which are also kinda surreal. He's like an off-and-on Tim Burton clone. i gotta say, it's not often a director gets a 2nd chance at a movie he got screwed out of previously. Barry must be feeling pretty fucking pleased right about now.
it looks great its just kind of jarring that the film got the aesthetics and casting so perfect already

Jesuits can't catch a break.
'John Wick' Director Chad Stahelski Tackling 'Highlander' Reboot This better be the softest reboot ever because that's all Highlander needs if they really want to bring it back. Also I never realised John Wick had 2 directors. I was about to say the guy was doing a lot of upcoming films.
Hype overdrive.
Getting classic Scorsese vibes. I can't wait
Oh fuck
That's how it starts
Please don't be as bad as Prometheus. I've already made one hilariously negative (and bad) Ridley Scott post in this thread, I don't need another. [sp]yeah but alien tho[/sp]
Wait is this the Ridley Scott or Neil Blomkamp one?
At least it's open about its Alien connection. Holy fuck what were they doing when they kept taking out stuff referencing Alien until the script stopped making sense?
