Wait is this the Ridley Scott or Neil Blomkamp one?
The blomkamp sequel got delayed at least until this comes out. Probably to gauge interest in new alien movies before committing to two at once.
At least it's open about its Alien connection. Holy fuck what were they doing when they kept taking out stuff referencing Alien until the script stopped making sense?
yeah which is what makes this so funny. It was pretty frequently stated that Prometheus was a bit of a confusing mess + people being unhappy about the unclear Alien connection, so now their first action of advertising this film is to literally just put a big ol xenonorph face front and center, as if to say "HAPPY NOW??" And yeah I am. Now they just need to not fuck it up in editing again and we'll be good. HOPEFULLY
is this a joke
For those who got kinda confused as fuck with Prometheus I recommend Stuckmann's Prometheus explained if you've got the time. It really helped me understand and appreciate the movie a lot more. It's about 20 minutes long. Even though it's not based completely on facts it does give good explanations.

What makes you think so?
is this a joke
Who keeps fucking funding these shows that are loosely based on properties that will be cancelled in like, one season
It's so vastly different why not make it its own fantasy rather than living in the shadow of The Wizard of Oz... I get name brand recognition but come on.
He said The Thing reboot was okay, that's enough for me to say his reviews are shit
He said The Thing reboot was okay, that's enough for me to say his reviews are shit
What a thorough opinion
What makes you think so?
he always rides the middle of the road instead of having proper opinions, and also, the things he says are also really vapid and general or just skewed observations and just generally he has bad opinions. he's like that dude who's really into comic book movies but isn't really into movies so he has no idea about anything and you shouldn't listen to what he says. [editline]25th November 2016[/editline] im trying to say that he's a boring idiot and a big basic boy. one of millions in a sea of unremarkable people with nothing to say making long boring videos that end up saying almost nothing at all

Ridley Scott was adamant that aliens were a tired design, the Prometheus sequel wouldn't have them and the whole trilogy would lead up to Alien. Then suddenly it was Alien film and he's probably had to rewrite everything. It looks like a decision by studio execs and marketing boys that he's just had to roll with.

It was excusable for Prometheus in my opinion since it was Weyland's own personal expedition, so naturally he'd have top of the line technology as opposed to the Nostromo's bulky, clunker space trucker look. It's one of the things that really nailed the feel and atmosphere of Alien was this future where we're still using reel-to-reel tapes, giant keyboards, push button tech & CRT monitors. I'm liking the casting choices so far, and that teaser poster has me pretty excited. But with the rewrites and execs doing exec things I can't help but be a little nervous for both Blokamp & Ridley's upcoming entries. Granted I'm not complaining, Hollywood is Hollywood. I'm just salivating for new Alien and I want them both to be good.
The few photos they've released seem to be aiming for that
Speaking of, here's another set photo with something familiar in the background [editline]30th November 2016[/editline]
I'm liking the casting choices so far
i was gonna point out that Danny McBride is in it for some reason but they do have Michael Fassbender playing two roles this time, so I guess that makes up for it
As long as Danny McBride is more of a Parker or Brett character, I think he won't feel out of place.
As I said before I think we know which of the cast is gonna lose their shit and run of to be example chomped.
fassbender
If they don't get into a touch war over something sparkly I'm gonna be pissed. That pic is also a pub pic for Riddles' birfday.
a lot of comedy actors when given a chance tend to have some real dramatic acting ability id like to think it might be that way with danny
Yeah at first I was taken aback a bit by Mcbride being cast, I'm not gonna lie. But then as already mentioned I remembered Yaphet & Harry Dean's back and forth banter made their roles feel more grounded in the film's reality. With a good script and Ridley's input I think he could do well.
looks neat
this actually looks.. cool? i mean, tom cruise probably should stop pretending he's young and spry, but i'm digging this so far.
idk but I'm a sucker for adventure films so ill hold my opinion for now
They're gonna be shooting Murder on the Orient Express here soon, with Jonny Depp. I'm trying to get some access to maybe meet the guy but they won't let me

When I heard they were going for a Marvel-style cinematic universe I assumed it meant crossovers, but it looks like they just made a fucking Marvel movie. Everything about it looks so generic, from the logo to the boring-ass modern day setting to the villain. And the overall visual style, but it might be too early to judge that. And of course there's a sequence where the monster destroys part of a city. Audiences won't flock to see your movie if it doesn't have buildings being torn apart. Even the tagline is setting up their franchise. And no doubt there will be a plot where the fate of the world is in the balance and everything is doomed unless Tom Cruise stops it. No thanks.
Apparently it's gonna be based more on the original novel.
I highly doubt that. Although an accurate representation of the mobile infantry of the book would be incredible. [editline]2nd December 2016[/editline]
He said The Thing reboot was okay, that's enough for me to say his reviews are shit
It was Ok. It was disappointing that they removed the practical effects in favour of CGI but it was still alright. Not good by any means. So long as he's still capable of doing his own stunts and doing them well, I want him starring in action movies. The guy is a baller.

I like Tom Cruise and Sofia Boutella, but this idea of a cinematic universe of the Universal monsters is really bad
Yeah, it's also going to be the first film to start Universals cinematic universe.
Yeah, it's also going to be the first film to start Universals cinematic universe.
I thought that was Dracula:Untold?
I thought that was Dracula:Untold?
They're rebooting the reboot since Dracula and Frankenstein tanked.
They're rebooting the reboot since Dracula and Frankenstein tanked.
I'm honestly not sure if you're kidding or not.
Sadly, I am not.
