Well we learned that Beth is sassy and a drunkard now.
I feel like I'm the only one that liked this episode.
I liked it. First, because Daryl who everyone thinks is the show's badass character that everyone likes to think they'd be in a zombie apocalypse, was shown to be an asshole. Yeah, it's when he's drunk but it still counts as taking some of the Mary Sue shine off him. It enhances his character, he's not just one note now. Beth was served well by showing how resilient she really is. She has mostly been presented in Maggie's shadow, as nothing more than a babysitter. She showed she can handle a guy like Daryl even when he's at his worst. In some ways she's tougher than Maggie because she hasn't had the benefit of a guy like Glen to rely on for support. I got a Dawn of the Dead vibe off the episode too. OG DotD, when they had a 'normal' life for a while in the mall. Daryl and Beth in that house and golf clubhouse was sort of an episode of them having the closest thing to a normal life in a long time. Daryl talking about how it reminded him of his previous life reinforced that. That's was pretty enjoyable.
It wasn't that bad it was just completely useless, you could watch the entire season without this episode and it would be exactly the same
You mean like everything between the beginning and the end of season 2? I pretty much skipped all of it and I didn't miss shit.
It really annoys me how so much time on this show is spent on walker attacks. Especially when its just one walker somehow creeping up on someone without them noticing at all when it's incredibly obvious.

Like how they completely ignore walker defenses, such as smearing walker guts over themselves or hacking off arms and jaws. In the prison, why didn't they have a few walkers like this penned up, so any time they had to leave the prison fence they could blend in? Or why, after getting overrun at the farm, didn't they have an agreed upon plan as to where they'd meet if they ever got overrun again and had to split up to escape? All that time at the prison, with all the experience they had accumulated, and they never talked about this? Maybe Daryl and Michonne could have mentioned that moonshine house as a meeting spot? Things like that you just have to let go. It'll drive you crazy in frustration at how stupid it is if you think about it.
I think "Stall" would have suited this episode better than "Still".

(They just weren't ready for this guy to show up while half of their population was sick) The walker attacks are really meh, but I don't mind seeing some mindless kills now and then. However their lack of walker defenses still strikes me as stupid to this day. Also I had myself a rewatch of the last episode (This is the only episode I have intentionally rewatched in a while) The first watch for me was really meh and I didn't care for the plot at all. However on my second rewatch I found myself liking it quite a bit more, it surely wasn't the best and it DID need to feature more groups.. I care a bit more for Daryl and substantially more for Beth, I like seeing these two characters together for some reason.
Well, 'we all pile into a bus and leave' isn't a viable escape plan. Their previous experience, at the farm, proved that. When you get overrun, you will not all be together. Some people may be out scavenging for supplies, some may be stuck inside, some may be outside and have to immediately leave the area. A fully supplied escape bus is no help there. The way you deal with that is everyone knows where to go no matter if they are with someone or alone. Everyone makes their way to a predetermined rally point. You should even have a backup rally point. Plus anywhere you go you leave messages if you can. In code if you're paranoid. That way Rick would know if Daryl had already been there and so forth.

You guys think about defenses, i think about who would be fucking if this was a real life scenario.. But nah, I think the stupidest thing about this is, is how Beth seems to shit herself every time a walker gets close to her even though she confidently stabs a walker in the head twice throughout that episode. I fucking love TWD, and I would like to rewatch it, it's just too much content, which isn't a bad thing, and for some reason, in the second season the quality dips a bit. If it was real life though, I think the entirety of that camp would be dead, bar Daryl. Also, has anybody noticed whenever gunplay is involved with zombies it is 100% accurate when it's a meaningless kill, as soon as there is a huge gunfight in the prison, it's like they're all drunk with love and are missing intentionally, that is my biggest gripe.
I understand why it's not implemented all that much, but.. armor. If it were me, and it wasn't 90 degrees, I'd go all shrek and have some serious layer. There's no way a zombie could bite through two layers of jeans, let alone one.

The tip was to use duct tape to cover your forearms so zombies couldn't bite you there. If that's true, THEN WHY DON'T THEY DO THAT IN THE ACTUAL SHOW?
Maybe they can't find it.
They get pretty inconsistent with their confidence killing walkers, like at some point in season 3 they just roll up in a car and deal with a bunch of walkers like they're nothing, now single walker attacks warrant 5 minutes of screen time because everyone is ~super scared~ of them again.

For me, one of the realistic areas of the show is that people aren't having sex with each other all the time. For instance, Beth and Daryl are on the run. No bath or shower, no toilet paper or tampons....for days and days. Who knows when was the last time they had clean underwear. Now Daryl is a guy, as a guy myself I have no problem believing he'd be willing to have sex with Beth even in those conditions. The problem is I don't think Beth would be feeling turned on, not even when drunk. I think a woman in those conditions would be feeling gross, so gross that sex would be out of the question. A guy could spend a lot of time telling her "I don't care how shitty you smell, I'd fuck a walker that's how many fucks I don't give about smell" and it wouldn't matter, she'd be too self conscious.
didn't stop shane and lori
Or Glenn and Magie. Multiple times. But Im really glad they didn't. Beth is still seen as more of a child character, would have been too weird
Well, it's not that no one is having sex, it's that not everyone is. Shane/Lori and Glen/Maggie happened in times when they were relatively clean and had supplies, a place to bath, and weren't running from walkers all day. Andrea, notice when she was most sexual? In the town, with a real bed, and living like it was almost a normal life. If Beth is going to get laid it'll be after they get somewhere safe and she can clean up.

thanks buddy
next week on AMC's the walking dead, Abraham fucks Glenn because why not
Pardon my ignorance, but do they fuck like mad in the comics, then? If the entire franchise of the Walking Dead was a realistic 'non-stop fuckfest', I don't think it would be famous for it's story and characters, if you know what I mean.
They actually do. Michonne slept with literally every black dude
Dude, think of my heart.

I mean, sure, the Governor can switch that emotion off but that's the governor we're talking about here, not everybody can shake off that feeling of guilt over taking someone's life.
As far as shooting people goes, here in the US cops sometimes fire 50 or 60 rounds total at a suspect(multiple cops) and it's not unusual if that guy is hit less than 10 times. Adrenaline can turn your arm to licorice even if you're trained AND shoot people for a living. So that doesn't bother me so much. When they shoot walkers they feel they have the advantage, since the walker has no ranged attacks and may only be a danger in melee. That's why Carl, for example, was so confident leading the walkers away from the house. In those situations you'd have little, if any, adrenaline flowing.

Anyway, to walk away from one of the lesser episodes of the show, what are your favourite episodes so far? 1. Vatos The tension between the Latino gang and Rick's group is unbelievably awesome and yet ends with such a crazy twist. Also that fucker Ed dies. 2. This Sorrowful Life Probably has the best Merle scenes in the entire series, and probably one of the only times in the series where I was close to crying. 3. Nebraska Again, the tension brings makes me love this one. The weird aloofness of the guys in the bar and Hershel becoming a super badass just makes this.
