I like how the guy is actually reasonable as fuck. I expected him to be a full-blown psychopath, and I was pleasantly surprised by his calmth.
Yeah I quite like him and he doesn't seem like an evil guy, he just has other methods.

His character is interesting to me because he's sort of like Shane, he obviously made the adaptation to the new crazy walker infested world very quickly and easily. Most of the characters we have seen, even the Governor, all have had that kind of baggage of looking back at what things used to be like. The Governor with his daughter for example. Even Daryl, as efficient as he's been, still hasn't found his place in this new world.
This group leader though, he's in his comfort zone. He's one guy who who is not just getting by, he's living well! From his perspective of course. I think that's why he's not a bloodthirsty psychopath, he's really just a normal guy living a normal life. In the post apocalypse what is normal has dramatically shifted.

Seriously I feel sorry for the actor playing the scientist, it's the writers behind that make him appear so fucking stupid.
Also, on top of having some quite ridiculous dialogue and writing, this series also categorizes to gamers and notably the fans of DayZ/Survival-horror genre like clearly seen in the latest episode.
with some more stuff from the finale surfacing it looks like we'll get a scene similiar to the one from issue 57 which is where I was hoping this season would be leading to.
Not sure how to qualify this spoiler so just don't click if you aren't up-to-date with the Walking Game and show [sp]That image from the preview, of Rick all bloody in what is almost certainly a meat locker, along with glimpses of religious imagery from what I assume is inside Terminus, has me absolutely convinced this is gonna play out like episode 2 of the game, but with Beth instead of the dude with glasses[/sp]

I'd say that he's been rejected by the previous society because of who he was, that's why he's more comfortable as things are now. Remember how he said 'people like us won't be accepted in terminus'? It's because they're simply different, and their motives were extremely questionable in the previous society and they are still, to people more accustomed to the previous society.
