Walking Dead V.4: All of our feels

i miss the post-apocalyptic zombie movie feeling that season 1 had, with the hordes and urban environments and such

like I know logically the countryside is the better way to go for the show, for both in-universe and budget reasons, but i still miss the feeling it had just starting out, cause you hardly ever see any debris from the former world besides a few abandoned cars and some assorted zombies, unlike in season 1 when shit was strewn all over the place as shown in the video (which was obviously due to the higher budget)

I know it was unavoidable for a show running 4 years to "get used" to the new environment, but honestly it just seems like a bunch of dirt roads with a couple half-wrecked cars dumped on them & the occasional house that's way too preserved for being untouched for nearly 2 years

season 4 was better in that way because we finally got out of the damn prison and got to see some relics of pre-apocalypse life again besides woodbury (the abandoned supermarket in episode 1 for example, or the place they got the medicine from, or all the stuff along the road to terminus)

idk how coherent this post is after typing and editing the fuck out of it but w/e, my 2 cents on the subject

[sp] Alanna Masterson (Tara), Christian Serratos (Rosita), Josh McDermitt (Eugene), Michael Cudlitz (Abraham) and Andrew J. West (Gareth) have been promoted to series regulars.
Scott Gimple on the theme of season 5: “Rick said, and before that Robert said it in the comics: Are we too far gone to be people anymore, to actually be human beings, to be able to relate to one another on an emotional level, to be able to live a real humanistic and emotional life – are we too far gone? Next season really is who do we become after that? Once that question is answered for ourselves, who are these people? That idea will be explored a few different ways.”
The Walking Dead will continue to take a remix approach to the source material, so we should expect to see more scenes from the comics.
There may be “some individual episodes that focus on a smaller group or one character" but it won’t be like season 4B.
Next season will explore a lot of different locations; it will probably “have more distinctive individual locations than we’ve had on the show thus far”.
The people from Terminus may not be the cannibals from the comics, but there is definitely “a very deep, dark and storied history to Terminus and how these people came to be" and “answers will come fast and furious”. Kirkman said we should “prepare for a surprise” since “there are an enormous amount of hints here and there in the finale (…) that will in some cases give [us] some pretty good hints and other cases be deliberately misleading as [they] intend it”.
Gareth (who is based on a character from the comics) and the people from Terminus are going to be “a very big threat”; they’re “a lot more dangerous and a little bit scarier" than the Woodbury survivors.
The candle room at Terminus is some sort of operating memorial; something really bad happened to Gareth’s group.
We will find out about Beth’s fate soon into season 5; “it might be a little heartbreaking, it might be a little heartwarming, but it’s going to be interesting”.
Carol and Tyreese will be a big part of next season; their story is definitely not over and it’s going to go in an unexpected direction.
Rick is back in charge. He has become someone who “can handle absolutely whatever the word is going to throw at him”, which is something that’s going to be explored in season 5.
After what happened with Lizzie and Mika, Rick’s group will be “a bit warier moving forward of how they encounter children and what to do with them”.
Hershel’s influence will continue to be felt throughout season 5 and also “the entire run of the show”.
There may or may not be a time jump from when season 4 ended (most likely not).
Rick doesn’t trust Eugene.
We will learn something about Sasha’s past that will “blow our minds”.
Season 5 will introduce more characters from the comics.
Season 5A will be “a little more action-heavy, with a lot of big twists”.
Rick and Michonne’s relationship “could obviously go in some interesting directions”.
According to Scott Gimple, the ominous graffitti messages seen in “Clear” (3x12) may foreshadow future plotlines.
Season 5 begins shooting on May 5th and the first casting call is seeking “an 18 year old male single-leg amputee of any ethnicity who can play younger”.[/sp]

Edit: spoilers, but I think this comfirms with what we've all been thinking:
[sp]17-year-old Burton is a survivor who has lost his leg, but whose positivity is infectious.

It is speculated that Burton could be the twist in a storyline in the comic books involving a character called Dale, whose leg (his remaining leg that is) is chopped off by cannibals. This has led to people wondering if the people of Terminus amputated Burton's missing leg for their food reserves, or whether Burton's fate will be similar to that of Dale.

E! also refers to the "man-eating freaks who run Terminus".

Their piece reads: "Our gang may have been in a tight spot when we last left them, but Rick and Co. are going to be recruiting as many people as possible in order to get revenge on those man-eating freaks who run Terminus."[/sp]

I didn't cry, but damn if I didn't come close when [sp]Lori died, and Carl had to shoot her and then Rick collapsed[/sp]

And fuck [sp]Andrea[/sp] that bitch! And that pussy [sp]Andrew who set off the alarms, motherfuckin snake in the grass, man. got T-Dog killed and probably made it so Lori went into labor from the stress[/sp] Damn you!!!!!

Finished season 3, when is [sp]Carl[/sp] going to stop being such a little cunt.

And why didn't they steal everything they could from [sp]Woodbury and load it up on the bus, maybe they did... I can't believe no one shot The Governor, I'm going to have to buy season 4 because I can't wait to see that fuck die.[/sp]

Glad I finally got around to watching season 2 & 3. Probably gonna rewatch season 1 before finding how a way to view 4, hopefully I can buy the season on demand on Amazon.

i did notice that actually but figured it might just be a coincidence considering how many zombies need to be on screen, you'll eventually wind up with one that looks like another movie's zombie
