Yes, the result would apparently be more realistic. But lets face it, the whole "going insane" thing was just crudely thrown in there to quickly create some conflict because the show writers are lazy. Same goes with the Governor and his surprise killing spree of his townspeople.
Season 4 > Season 3 > Season 1 > Season 2
Season 4 > Season 1 > Season 3 > Season 2
s3's finale was disappointing and it had that awkward dip in the middle. s1 was fantastic and didn't feel like it had any filler.
Season 3 had such an easy job to do.. the comics had this excellent groundwork for one of the best story arcs to adapt (unlike season 2 which was based on a very short 1 volume story arc which they stretched for an entire season). They really squandered it with some pointless side stories and wasted focus. You could argue that the Governor came out as a better, more believable character at the end (except for the whole finale thing) because they spent so much time trying to build up his """downfall""" and how Woodbury wasn't just "a bunch of bad guys".
Yeah, it still boggles my mind why they didn't leave the farm halfway through season 2. I could guaran-fucking-tee you it wouldn't get quite as much hate if they took that route.
I think they should have ended season 2 with the introduction of The Governor, but the prison and Michonne teases were still really badass.
Season 2 would've been fine if it had the same pacing AND length as the first season. You could chalk it up to them learning how to find the correct pace for the show I GUESS.
im surprised there isnt a fan-edit of season 2 that cuts it down in half.
Frank Darabont needs to come back, even if it's just for one episode.
The quality of a season with Frank Darabont in it would jump up so fucking high then just plummet after he's had his fill. Don't they get a different director/writer each episode?
Darabont actually knew how to direct a horror show.
Frank Darabont needs to come back, even if it's just for one episode.
If I was him I would never work with AMC ever again.
Season 3 killed way to may people off[sp] Merle,Oscar, Axel all characters that deserved more time to shine[/sp]
mandrea deserved to die
Mazzara was an idiot, and lacked any meaningful vision for the show. Glad he's gone.
Noooooo, she is like...the 2nd best character in the comics, man. [sp] The writers were just on the brink of changing her from being the worst character on the show and then they fucking killed her. Apparently if Scott Gimple was the showrunner, he'd have kept Andrea, but it was the last thing that Mazzara ever wanted. I think he mentioned that it was because he wanted to please the fans. [/sp]
um, i read the comics, too. andrea is cool. show andrea sucked ass though, it was good they wrote her out of her misery.
Well, the end of the new beginning story arc is approaching which means something is about to happen. I'm scared
[sp]Andrea's death didn't do anything for me, I wasn't angry/sad that she was gone obviously that is not good you should care when a character dies and all that. So there is a part of me that wishes she was alive so they could of work on that character and make her better.[/sp]
edit: spoiler tags added.

use spoiler tags
use spoiler tags
everyone is a red shirt in the walking dead, nothing spoilerish about that, it's simply a matter of time.
that's a really shitty excuse
use spoiler tags
Tells user to use spoiler tags. Doesn't tag spoilers in quoted post. Good Job.
No but for real though. A spoiler is a spoiler have some respect.
Those who are late on this show are going to see spoilers, it's just one of those shows that you need to keep up on. I was spoiled on (season 2 spoiler)[sp] Shane's death just by looking up the actors name. His picture for Google that they have in the right corner at time was him as a zombie[/sp]
use spoiler tags
done and done, you might want do the same thing.
I find it strange that people want to defend not using spoiler tags. What do you gain? Putting spoiler tags on takes five fucking seconds. Just learn to spoiler tag and this discussion wouldn't have to keep coming up.

Pops do you mind telling me why you rated this, and every other post about spoilers dumb?
Your excuse is weak as fuck and doesn't count
When people use the excuse "they should have caught up" or "that was such a long time ago" i really wanna ask them where we should draw the line. because face it, we can't decide where the line should be drawn so it's easier to just spoiler tag things by default. Problem solved.
Comic issue 132: [sp]Huh, I guess talking walkers actually being survivors in disguise makes more sense than them getting smarter.[/sp]
