How great was that transition where compendium 2 left off to that next volume? [sp]We can finally start living![/sp]
Compendium 3 is going to be a weird read for people who weren't following TWD at all after 2.

Things just didn't go the way I expected them to.
[sp]yeah but imagine turning the page in the book halfway through and suddenly it skipped forward 2 years lol[/sp]
Finished reading book 9. Gonna buy the 3 current volumes either later today or tomorrow. I can't seem to pace myself :v
Finished reading book 9. Gonna buy the 3 current volumes either later today or tomorrow. I can't seem to pace myself :v
That's basically what happened with me. I bought the first 2 compendiums, bought volume 17 literally the day I finished compendium 2 and now I own all walking dead and buy every new issue.
I really can't wait to see what direction they take the series in the next issue. It has some serious shit hitting fan potential.
I pretty much just give up trying to speculate what will happen next and accept that Kirkman will do something cool.
... what, as videos? How do you turn a comicbook into a video?
windows media player slideshow with music so you're not bored
I pretty much just give up trying to speculate what will happen next and accept that Kirkman will do something cool.
i just hope it doesn't end up simply as [sp]"Rick's group vs the evil group" again. [/sp]

http://deadline.com/2014/10/walking-dead-renewed-season-6-847278/ s6 confirmed
They would've felt really silly working on that Alexandria set to use until 2019 if they didn't get renewed for more seasons.
Comic spoiler and hopeful TV-speculation: Can't wait to see Carl [sp]lose his eye[/sp]
Comic spoiler and hopeful TV-speculation: Can't wait to see Carl [sp]lose his eye[/sp]
honestly the one thing i am absolutely stoked to see on the tv show is [sp]Glenn's death, in all its brutal and undignified quality[/sp]
honestly the one thing i am absolutely stoked to see on the tv show is [sp]Glenn's death, in all its brutal and undignified quality[/sp]
If they capture it right and proper, I might just shed a few tears when he [sp]tries to, and eventually does, yell out Maggies name[/sp] That shit got to me in the comics. [editline]8th October 2014[/editline] Also, since I read the comics after watching the TV show I read all the speech bubbles with the voices from the TV show. It works out pretty well.
honestly the one thing i am absolutely stoked to see on the tv show is [sp]Glenn's death, in all its brutal and undignified quality[/sp]
It's gonna be like Game of Thrones's[sp]utter annihilation of Oberyn Martell[/sp]except potentially even worse.
guys ur gonna make me cry
I'm rewatching the show to kinda get back in the vibe for Season 5 (comics were good but I need the TV feeling for the show) Rick: "I've got a beretta, with one clip" Clip? Really, Rick? You're a cop. A police officer. You should know this shit.
Rick: "I've got a beretta, with one clip" Clip? Really, Rick? You're a cop. A police officer. You should know this shit.
i used to browse /k/ a lot back around the time when s1 first aired. i remember one thread where everyone was going absolutely ballistic over this one line.
i used to browse /k/ a lot back around the time when s1 first aired. i remember one thread where everyone was going absolutely ballistic over this one line.
They keep going back and forth in how realistically they treat guns. First they give them some good recoil!!! Then they call the magazine a clip.... Then they realistically give Rick a concussion when he fires a gun in a small space!!! Then they make Rick hold his gun in the most ridiculous and impractical manner possible... They keep flip-floppin'.
something i never understood: rick's signature revolver. [sp]he gives it to otis when him and shane go off to find whatever, then otis gets munched and rick magically has his gun back?[/sp]
As far as guns go in the show I still cant get over Hershel's magic shotgun.
As far as guns go in the show I still cant get over Hershel's magic shotgun.
No need to question Hershel's powers.
Spoilerly reviews are coming out now for Sunday's episode. Be careful at where you look!
Not really walking dead news but more of amc news. http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/10/10/amc-cancels-all-unscripted-series-except-talking-dead-and-comic-book-men What a breath of fresh air to see this,i am so goddamn happy i won't have to see another "Game of Arms" ad.
At first I wasn't too happy with the fact that [sp] Negan lived after the war and not that many characters died. I thought it was going to top the amount of mains that died at the prison, especially with a volume title like All Out War, [/sp] but with how it turned out, I'm glad he made that decision. Totally took me by surprise and then with the [sp] time skip [/sp] it's only made things more interesting.
[sp]I'm not enjoying any of the latest issues. Haven't been enjoying it since the start of All Out War. The supposed "tons of deaths" never happened, and everything just seems so happy, perfect, and non-dangerous now. Everyone just sits around with only a handful of dangerous moments. I also don't like how zombies feel... pussified, compared to older issues. They're not dangerous any more, which makes the whole apocalypse seem dull. I was really interested in the idea that Kirkman was bringing in zombies with weapons, like in the show, but was really pissed at the cocktease of "lol theyre just hummens in disgize xd". It seemed really stupid to me, and I didn't like the time skip either. I never like time skips in general. I wish Kirkman would take an Ice and Fire approach and just start slaughtering the characters, putting in clear and present danger on all side, anything to shake stuff up. But that's all my opinion.[/sp] I'm excited for Season 5 of the show, though.
I'm quite the opposite, I love it when apocalypse stories go into rebuilding society (albeit they rarely do)
I mean that seemed like a direction Kirkman wanted to go for as long as he's been writing TWD since he said that he always wanted to see what happened after the credits of a zombie movie. [sp]it's a theme that isn't entirely new to the walking dead universe, it happened with the prison and it happened with alexandria pre-saviors. You'd think after failing two times prior the gang would have some insight on how to actually start rebuilding society properly. It was only logical for something to actually come out of it at some point. Knowing that they weren't alone in the area and could set up trade routes only strengthen the desire to rebuild. You can argue that this latest storyline was boring but you'd be missing the point of it. The cast had to be re-established, certain loose ends had to be addressed from the fallout of all out war, and a new plot had to be set in motion. It succeeded in all those regards at least in my opinion.[/sp]
It also makes sense for the zombies to become less of a threat, those that have survived this long into the "apocalypse" probably would fairly well be able to deal with some slowly but surely weakening zombies. I like having the zombies still be a threat (which they always are) but to make them straight up totally super duper dangerous again would seem silly. Although I do admit I was sorta hoping [sp]the zombies were talking though having the zombies just straight up wielding machetes would be a little over the top[/sp]

To me, an apocalypse gets boring when the thing that caused it stops being a major threat. If Kirkman would stop writing his characters to be so strong and would start taking them out of their safety/comfort zones, then maybe I'd enjoy it more.
