[sp]i'm not saying rick's turned into an evil merciless killer, but it's interesting to watch the development of his ruthlessness and defensive nature throughout the show, considering the same pleas for mercy came from the "hostage" in season 2; when, unlike now, rick spent a lot of time struggling to bring himself to end another person's life[/sp]
[sp]he's becoming bloodthirsty as all hell. with glenn and maggie standing back all "whoa, shit dude..." when he hacks up gareth, and bob and carl making a big deal about coming back and helping people "not all people are bad" etc. i think this season will see rick getting more and more dark and doing some more brutal things.[/sp]
[sp]In the end, Shane's way of thinking wasn't completely wrong. You have to adapt to live in this brutal reality. The people who can't, the cattle, aren't going to live for long. The trick is to find the balance of brutality and humanity, the ability to help somebody but always be ready to end their life if they are a threat.[/sp]
[sp]When he opened the map was that message in the comics?
If not, that has got me hyped like crazy because of what can happen.[/sp]
is anyone else noticing some of the parallels between rick and the governor? like in this weeks ep, when [sp]gareth is making his speech, it reminded me of the season 4 finale; gareth says things like "this doesn't have to happen, we can go our separate ways and never cross paths again" [sic] and it's pretty similar to rick's pleas with the governor when he was at the prison gate

And you're saying that's a bad thing?
[sp]But nah man, Rick is the judge. He's got a code, and his morals are in the right. He's just learned that in this day and age (in TWD) you just can't know what people could possibly be up to. Like fucking Terminus. He really tried to make Coral understand that too by saying he must ALWAYS stay alert. Rick learns from the people he meet, in good and bad.[/sp]
[sp]would you want to roam with a known deserter?[/sp]
[sp]You can see when he breaks down crying that it was a mistake. He was probably scared for his life at that time and if he let them in he would of died too.[/sp]
When Abram went all dad mode on Eugene, I couldn't stop thinking about katbug.

" 'k :( " -Eugene
This season is really good so far, I hope they can keep the pace after what happened.

shitty five minute ms paint graph

[editline]27th October 2014[/editline]
probably the most inaccurate and shoddy graph ever
it's so unclear
basically
season one: frank darabont is god, most of season was good as a minimum, nice finale
season two: alright premiere, just goes downhill from there, [sp]liked the episode where carl was shot and they had to retrieve the meds?[/sp], most of it was just shitty, liked nebraska, essentially the only decent to mediocre parts were action, the rest was just soap opera filler shit
season three: again, good premiere, most of the season was better than the last, but something was missing
season four: better still, last few episodes were kind of annoying though with all the waiting
season five: GOAT so far
I also made a chart

No way season 3 mid is better than season 4 mid, even if it's 'hype'
season 1 mid? you mean the episode where they came across the dudes in the hospital?
i liked that one, kirkman wrote it himself.

i actually had to google that
completely forgotten about that episode with the old people's home and the gang
how things have changed since then
[sp]didn't they find their bodies or something in season 2?[/sp]
They had a scene for them on season 1, after the CDC, but they were deleted.

That one scene last episode reminded me of a paragon vs renegade choice in mass effect.
I've been re-reading from vol 11 on whenever I get the chance since this season started and I'm being reminded of alot of stuff I can't wait to see soon in the show: (obivously don't click this if you don't want comic spoilers)
[sp]Specifically Rick's breakdown after a bit in Alexandria when he goes all crazy and starts beating the shit out of the guy who he thinks is hurting his family, pulling a gun on Douglas, and having to get knocked out by Michonne. I really, really look forward to AL doing the scene justice[/sp]
All I have to say is that Henry Rollins better fucking be the one to play Negan.
[sp]That is who Negan's appearance is based off of anyway, look it up[/sp]

Looking back at the characters in the beginning of the show is wierd. They were all so energetic and innocent. Nowadays everyone is so sluggish, almost apathetic.
Which is understandable, but you dont really notice it until you compare them like this.
I like the new group way more to be honest, Rick in specific

Honestly, I don't really think he could portray a good Negan just from his images.
He doesn't have to look like the comic character, Andrew Lincoln doesn't look like the Rick counterpart from the comics.
abraham lincoln?
who is this negan guy anyway
Welp, I googled "negan walking dead" because I thought it was some character I didn't know the name and now I know something I shouldn't about him
If anyone here has read the comics up to current and watched Book 3 of Legend of Korra; Zaheer from LOK was voiced by Henry Rollins and that character gave off a pretty big Negan vibe, I think Rollins could do it really really well.
I dunno if this is unpopular to say, but I'm really glad that Kirkman did the [sp] time skip [/sp] in the comics. I think the characters are becoming more interesting and it's very interesting to see where Carl is going.
I still think Carl will become the main character one day.
[sp]it's a real easy way/excuse to re-introduce all of the characters and kinda move their progression along faster but not in a manner that feels forced. I'm happy with how everything came to be, the ending to all out war didn't really leave anything left to happen in the short term so even if we didn't skip 2 years .. some time would have had to pass[/sp]
abraham lincoln?
The plot has changed so that instead of escorting Eugene, the group must escort Honest Abe to DC to emancipate the world of the undead plague.
I still think Carl will become the main character one day.
That would make it a legitimate horror story again.

ralph fiennes wouldn't be bad as negan, the walking dead seems to like british actors in lead roles

[sp]tbh all I could think during that scene where glenn and maggie were horrified at rick hacking at that dude was the horrible flashbacks to when the Governor beheaded Hershel because that was really similar in some way[/sp]
AL has always been really good about highlighting Rick's badass traits in the early seasons. Now that they're out in the open he's probably having a field day acting on them.
I actually never found Rick to be that interesting until now.
I love how we finally have badass Rick. He was alright before, but I've been waiting for him to turn ruthless for a looooooooooong time.
I remember Rick who gave zero shits at the start of season 3 (see the prison dude), I wish they kept him like that
Gov probably wouldn't have fucked with Rick if he did
