It would work much better if they did multiple story lines an episode. As is it feels like the episode drags. They could have cut plenty of footage and still gotten the main points across. I don't mind down time in a show like this, and I love character development, but that episode was boring.
it would work better but then the season would have ended.
I guess I just look at it in a Game of Thrones perspective. Jumping storylines, a ton of engaging plots and characters, certain characters stories getting unraveled piece by piece.
And when there is an episode focusing solely on one plotline, you know shit's going down. I think walking dead could do the same thing if they sliced and cut footage correctly.
The mid-season finale stuff is inevitable with AMC though, and I know that fucks with the flow of some shows.
But hey, this season has had much, much better direction than the last, so I'll continue watching and see where they take the story.
The only thing I hate about this season is that I get so sucked into the episodes, and then have to wait another week for the next.
imagine watching season 2 week by week
"are they gonna find sophia tonight?? no........"
I would've thought that those walkers would've broken out of that tent by now.
They'd have had no motivation to unless food was nearby. A zombie might stay nearly motionless for days, or months, if it lacks a motivating factor to roam. With the streets of Atlanta free from humans, there's just no reason for the walkers to rip their way out of the tents.

not to mention this is a few years now after the initial outbreak, the zombies have gone through a few winters and are decaying constantly as well.
Well the zombies don't exactly tear through things, they just push their way in. They can walk into the side of the tents all they want, but they'll just get tangled up
It was weird watching the episode, since I'm fairly certain I've been in that same parking garage.
Seeing a television show or movie in a spot you live in is so weird, like Zombieland being filmed in my town's amusement park.
I really hope [sp]A major character dies by the finale, otherwise i'd be disappointed. It'll probably end up being Beth if anyone.[/sp]
I feel like [sp] Beth will die during the mid season finale, but it should really be Carol. She doesn't want the pain of having all those around her die, so she sacrifices herself to get beth out of the hospital. Would make for a much more interesting episode [/sp]
Only flaw I see with this is that [sp]Carol is fucking badass and Beth is boring as fuck[/sp]
Only flaw I see with this is that [sp]Carol is fucking badass and Beth is boring as fuck[/sp]
this is why we can't have nice things
i was just thinking the same shit today, it has to be [sp]carol, she's been getting way too much characterization this season to not be killed off in hopefully some epic fashion that really shows how she started out good, got shitty and then became a boss.[/sp]
I'm really tired of filler episodes, I just want the story to progress. The show feels extra slow now both knowing at what pace the comics move and knowing what might come in the future.

probably don't click this if you're scared of any kind of spoilers for the show revolving around filming or the lack of filming for certain actors
[sp]Appearantly Chad Coleman is going to be on another show next year. http://variety.com/2014/tv/news/syfys-the-expanse-adds-walking-dead-mad-men-alums-1201361228/
It's not entirely impossible he'd be filming during a twd break but it could also mean Tyrese is going to die soonish. That said I do believe he wasn't seen filming very much for the back half of season 5(granted they were filming behind walls most of the time), that and they did pretty well allude to his death in 501. Well, I'm hoping it just means CC is going to be busy filming 2 shows next year because Judith needs her babysitter[/sp]
Here's my wacked out theory:
[sp]Eugene ends up becoming a simpleton, and Abraham takes it upon himself to care for him, because he goes into some deep depression about his kids too (or the implied kids)[/sp]

[sp]Would they really do an entire story arc about saving Beth only to have her die at the end?
I feel like that would piss a lot of people off.[/sp]

Yes they would. See [sp] Sophia[/sp]
What I wonder though [sp]If Daryl and Noah took the truk back to the church, why did they decide to walk the last part through the bushes, apperently running because Daryl is breathing heavily.[/sp]

Caution? They didn't want to go in making noise without making sure Rick was still there.

as much as I'd hate to have that happen
yeah I imagine they can and will
she's just.. Not that important.
kill off Beth already for goodness sake
[sp]I just really hope Judith dies soon.
Not that I support babykilling. But she represents hope. And the story becomes infinitely more intriguing when you remove hope from the equation. When she died in the comics, it was a powerful moment. One that changed Rick.
Plus, it's practical for the show. The characters are going to have a tough time carrying an infant. Judith will slow them down. No matter how intense the situation, someone's going to have to lug the basket around, or try to keep her quiet. She's a bit of a liability.
I can't honestly see her growing up. No matter how badass this group is, I just can't see a baby, or eventually a toddler, being able to survive the kind of situations that Rick and company keep getting into. Winter will be coming, food will be harder and harder to come by. . .from a storytelling standpoint, it will be easier (for the group, and the writers) if Judith were no longer a factor.
So. . .I'm hoping by the mid-season finale, or maybe the season finale, Judith dies.[/sp]

they won't ever do it. just straight up aint going to happen. not on tv.

That, and the fact that nothing interesting came from [sp]Judith yet. I'm not expecting a baby to be a 3 dimensional interesting character, but no interesting predicaments came from her and sometimes I forget she's even in the show.[/sp]
honestly that's why i prefer the comics since [sp]kirkman had the balls to have her killed off with lori simultaneously[/sp]
it also provides greater character depth for you-know-who

[sp]Maybe Negan could kill her like he does Glenn. Right in front of Rick and Carl.[/sp]
Better idea:
[sp]Judith is kidnapped at some point, and then we have Rick chasing her down all the way to New Orleans.[/sp]
