Honestly, I haven't minded this season at all. I just wish that they wouldn't separate the characters quite as much. When it follows everyone, it's always a better episode excluding a few examples like "The Grove".
The first three episodes were intense as hell, but the next four were a bit more slow paced.
If the mid-season finale is action packed, which it will be, that's half of season 5A that has been action packed. I think I can settle for that.
Yeah if the mid season final is action packed then its cool, I just think there needs to be something more in the episodes in between. The past few episodes have been good, just a lack of tension or something
What they lack is good writing. TWD is terrible when it tries to make talking episodes, because there's literally nothing happening and it's agonizingly slow. Not to mention the amount of dumb cliché dialogs and ridiculous scenes like the van landing on all four or the last episode's ending. The show just often feels stupid.
Action fits them more. Probably because they can go full-retard there. The show is good when they're not trying to make it a serious and emotional story. They suck at that.

Oh yea there's some stupid and cringeworthy stuff but it's still a very graphic series with some very adult themes, so.. of course it's "serious and emotional"?
Would you rather have it some other, less serious way? It's not Zombieland, man..

that was season 2 and 3
seasons 4 and 5 have been a lot more serious and not ridiculous.
i love michonne now but i remember when she was first introduced i thought [sp]what sort of zombie show has a mysterious voodoo ninja woman who chains up zombies and has a sword how can i take this shit seriously[/sp] especially with a lot of the silly shit at woodbury, s3 was just a bit ridiculous

No, not really a fan of Zombieland's approach. We've already had enough of that. What I want is to replace all the cringeworthy stuff with quality stuff. Honestly, some scenes are on par with comments on TWD Facebook page.
they should be milling through characters more often. when they introduce a new guy, they generally don't get much development and the show still focuses on fan favourites. those favourites need to start dying off in favour of new characters with different personalities.

It was pretty comic booky, I didn't mind it.
but i wasn't reading a comic book i was watching a show about a zombie apocalypse. obviously i realize it's based on a comic book but when you step back it's still a bit absurd

Z-Nation may appeal to you more in that case.

How was Woodbury silly?
I actually like watching z nation. Shit budget and acting and all that but I think they make likeable characters and the episodes are pretty fun to watch and have some original ideas
Woodbury wasn't silly, but Andrea's speech near the end of season 3 was.
Andrea is silly.
Okay now Rock'N'Roll walker pit fights was a bit silly but still pretty awesome though.
I know I already said it here but i'm going to it again season 3 spoiler[sp] They should of kept Merle alive, he went way to soon.I would of love seeing him in season 4 and how he would of reacted to all the events. [/sp]
Honestly, I think they made the right decision with [sp] killing him off. His heroic standoff [/sp] was possibly the best part of season 3.
[editline]26th November 2014[/editline]
Although seeing him during the season 4 mid-season finale would have been fucking superb. Maybe they could have had a [sp] Dixon brothers [/sp] episode in place of the Beth one to establish their childhood abuse story.
Now that I think about it, I would have loved that.
[sp]Merle would have been great in the tainted meat role if he was still around at the time. [/sp]
[sp]Merle would have been great in the tainted meat role if he was still around at the time. [/sp]
I think bob did it pretty well though.
bob did it great
merle would've done it better thooough
bob did it great

[sp]God, I miss Merle now.
Best part of season 3 imo, he was my favorite character. Merle being "tainted meat" would have been an amazing end to him, but his end in season 3 was just as great. [/sp]
season 3 spoilers
[sp]Yeah, they killed Merle off waaaaaay too soon.
Imaginary Merle talking shit to Daryl back in season 2 was fucking hilarious.
And Merle going out in a Motörhead and Johnnie Walker-fueled rampage was definitely one of the most awesome moments in the show ever.[/sp]
i never realized dale's actor was in shawshank redemption

[sp] I wonder if we'll ever see another flashback of Merle or another imaginary Merle when Daryl is in a time of need? It'd be cool as fuck if we got to see him one last time. [/sp]
maybe if [sp]daryl eventually dies merle will show up in his last moments of life saying stuff like "look at you now brother where did you go wrong" and it'll get really emotional and rip dixon brudas[/sp]
I knew what happened at the end of last episode was coming. I don't know about anyone else but I find the chain of events of each episode is becoming more predictable. [sp]When Daryl clears that trailer I knew one of the cops was going to be behind him or whatever when the music stopped[/sp]. Not to say that I'm not enjoying it though.
i never realized dale's actor was in shawshank redemption
Me neither.
He looks soooo different. I still can't recognize him well. I look straight at his face and i don't see any of Dale there.
jeff demunn has appeared in more stephen king adaptations than any other actor
specifically due to frank darabont directing the mist, green mile and shawshank, but demunn was also in storm of the century.
p.s. demunn is darabont's favorite actor and that's why he was cast as dale. also, demunn left after darabont left, basically claiming there was no reason for him to stick around.
So the mid season finale rumors going around is [sp] Beth is going to be the one who dies next,If true I would imagine that shit hitting Maggie pretty hard and I can see her not being so happy with Eugene[/sp]

[sp]who's beth? no really who died am i supposed to feel something for this random blonde?[/sp]
Personally [sp] Beth is a more believable character than Carol, and I would love for Carol to die in the MSF over Beth. [/sp]
Personally [sp] Beth is a more believable character than Carol, and I would love for Carol to die in the MSF over Beth. [/sp]
It would make everyone hate [sp]Beth[/sp] for killing "the best character"
It would make everyone hate [sp]Beth[/sp] for killing "the best character"
Which is dumb because [sp] Beth just saved her, she goes ahead and runs outside even though the car was just driving right outside their building, and doesn't bother looking either way.
She isn't that good of a character imo, she's shown that her weakness is that she cares for others, it's about time someone uses that weakness. I would like Carol more if she sacrificed herself for Beth. [/sp]
p.s. [sp] what i just said might not make sense, it's late [/sp]
So the mid season finale rumors going around is [sp] Beth is going to be the one who dies next,If true I would imagine that shit hitting Maggie pretty hard and I can see her not being so happy with Eugene[/sp]
comic [sp]maybe this will lead to Maggie hanging herself, since now her entire family is dead. it's more devastating in the comic since she had a huge family but it'd be cool if they worked this into the show too[/sp]

Honestly at this point Carol's storyline feels over to me, she's had a crazy good run but there's not much else they could do with her.
