As for the stupidity of Beth's death, I think it was Beth who was being stupid, and died as the result of being stupid.
So yes, the death was stupid, I guess, but not in a way that she should be resurrected.

The show is an adaptation of the comic, they're strongly linked and relevant to each other. The game isn't strongly linked to either.
