"Arrow on the Doorpost" will be so fucking boring to rewatch now knowing that [sp] the whole ending (which at the time, was one of my favorite episode endings of the series) makes the war seem like it's going to be an all-out slaughter like in the comics. Man, the assault on the prison was disappointing. [/sp]
What would make up for it is the Governor crazily just fucking driving a tank out of the forest and over the prison gates for his next season return.
God dammit why am I still watching this show, I swear it's written by teenagers
I'm inclined to say season 1 was my favorite if not for the first few episodes, but then season 3 had quite a few interesting episodes which gave me some new faith in the show [sp]until that fuckin finale goddamn[/sp] but still
I never really got why people circlejerk around Daryl, he wasn't even in the fucking comics
Well, the guy who was behind "Clear" (AKA [sp] the Morgan episode [/sp]) is the new showrunner, and that was the best episode on the second half of the third season.
The guy also made "18 Miles Out", the one with Rick and Shane duking it out. Not to mention "Pretty Much Dead Already", the [sp] barn clear-out episode [/sp] and "This Sorrowful Life", the one with [sp] Merle's last stand.[/sp]
I think we're in good hands. The guy obviously knows what he's doing and he's given us some of the best episodes the series has ever had. He's all about progression with the story, and I honestly couldn't be more excited.
I'm just hoping we get a decent trailer at Comic-Con or something.
Idk, I'm still skeptical because I remember when we were all hyped up about Glen Mazzara being the showrunner for Season 3 and then the finale happened.
You're completely missing the point here.

Missing my point. I'm talking about the overall quality and the writing of the show.
For example, They spent the ENTIRE 2ND HALF of the season building up for the "war", and what happened? 25 fully armed guys walk into the prison for around 3 minutes, get shot at a few times and run away. Seriously?
No, dude, we get your point, stop insisting we don't. The show HAS changed with different camerawork, dialogue, acting and writing. But once again, whether or not its a step in the wrong direction or if the quality of the show has fallen is entirely up to opinion.
I never really got why people circlejerk around Daryl, he wasn't even in the fucking comics
Same reason people liked Tyresse from the comics. He's Ricks right hand man, incredibly skilled and is always helping a situation, never causing drama etc etc.

i hate that you just snuck in "like in the comics" you evil bastard

Much like Tyreese, Daryl is reasonable and intelligent; he sees situations and people for what they are and does not jump to asinine conclusions ("I can bring these two warring groups together with my good looks"). He has no overarching plans for the situation apart from survival and seems genuinely willing to help those in need. What I like about him most is his extreme value of trust, he practically never questions the orders of those he trusts, like Rick, but when called upon he can easily provide his own useful opinions.

Also Norman Reedus seems like a really chill and relatable dude.

so you can only like a character if it's from the comics?
10/10 logic
Am I the only one that thinks it's slightly racist that the only guys 'willing to go along with the governor's terror and execute his down right evil wishes' are the mexican and black guy?
Also would like to exclaim how much of a dud the finale was,
thanks.

If I had to admit to my Walking Dead bro crush, it would be either Tyreese or Rick.
Now on different note, I feel really upset with the character of Andrea and I feel bad for the actor. I feel like that actress could have easily been the amazing Andrea from the comics. Laurie Holden is a great actress.

yeah and its racist to white people that the most evil of them all is a white guy!! ! >:(

I dont get what you dudes are fucking whinging about really
season 2 was fucking B-A-D I don't know if you've all just conveniently forgotten, but the shit was basically turning into a really bad soap opera.
Season 3 has been leaps and bounds ahead in almost every aspect. Yeah so the finale was unsatisfying, who gives a shit. It was still a great season overall.

why do people always love calling out the walking dead franchise with racism.
seriously. if you think it's racist that something happens to minority character, or a minority character does something, you're being racist by looking at the person as their race and not a normal fucking character.

its more racist with the fact that you fucking noticed lol, i didnt even think of their ethnicity as to why they were "evil"
Not the best comparison, because that was the best 6:30 minutes of the entire season. I get what you mean, each season has a very different feel. The first season was different to the second as well. Some may like the direction the show took, so won't. The good news is that with a new season comes a new perspective and road for the show to take. Who knows, it could be the best one yet.
Season 1: The feeling of waking up in a abandoned world you're not used to, not being able to predict what will happen. That part in the pilot where Rick looks inside some old farm house and sees an entire family with their heads blown off before getting the horse, that was some major feels man.
Season 2: Started off great with the same feel as Season 1 before starting to lose it, got stuck on the same plot device for several episode before finally moving on.
Season 3: Not really sure, the whole "insanity" plot felt too random and awkward. Morgan episode was great though.
It's sad that rick looked awesome in his sheriff suit and now he's not gonna wear it anymore

I felt that the first few episodes of season 2 was good. Same goes for season 3. However as we got closer to the finale in both seasons the episodes got a worse.
I liked the first part of season 3 a lot but not the last part.
watching season 3. been up for 2 days watching all i can
The first and last few episodes of season 2 were great. The middle got a tad bit boring.
That's not what i mean. By different 'feel' i mean the whole atmosphere of the show changed, and not in a good way.
Its almost like they changed the entire team of writers.
Because they have, to a rather large degree. AMC doesn't understand to leave well enough alone.
What the fuck, people
Everyone's saying that season 2 was good now, have you guys forgotten how this thread was like an angry mob with pitchforks and torches after every single episode? Everyone was hating that season, even after the [sp]barn with sofia episode, it was great but everyone realized it didn't make the rest of the season suck less.[/sp] Now everyone is saying it was ok or even great just for the sake of it, or even worse, just to say that "season 2 was great this one sucked ass!" simply because they're mad at the finale
^the only defense for that i can find is that the producers really hyped up the finale.
the preview of martinez using the grenade launcher didn't help either.
but as an overall, s3 > s2, that is no competition. while the first half of season 2 was lamesauce, the second half improved with an awesome finale. all of season 3 was great, with a not as good in terms of action and that kind of shit finale, but moreso a character development finale, which is something this show truly needed. of course, the masses just simply think "GUNS AND ZAMBEHS AND RICK OH MY" and expect every single episode to be balls to the wall. that's also what happens when you don't read the source material.
I liked Season 2 when it was good. There's just about 3-4 episodes of it that never went anywhere. Other than that, I really liked it. Especially the second half, which, in my opinion, is just as good as season 3.
There were parts of season 2 i enjoyed as well, but that's not what I'm talking about.
People here are starting to compare it to season 3 as if something has been lost? LMFAO. Season 2 was literally worse in every aspect of film craft you care to name.
Has the camerawork, writing and direction changed the feel of the show? Yeah. It has.
for the better.

Cool retcon bro but I haven't changed my mind on anything; season 2 had far better characterization and emotional dynamic and much MUCH better cinematography, and 3 has some serious issues in the same areas, ESPECIALLY the last half-season.
