Since he didn't appear in the sneak peaks, its safe to asume.....[sp]rip rasta fasta[/sp]
Just why was this episode titled Live Bait? [sp]Aside from that walker pit-ending I'm not seeing any connection.[/sp]
A lot of WD titles dont make sense.
When does Abraham come in?
I think hes in the [sp] Second half of the season [/sp] When (filming spoilers) [sp] The group gets split up into 4 groups [/sp] They said that they are getting another walking dead cast member next talking dead as well! I liked the episode, definitely can't wait till next Sunday.
im starting to like the governor wtf and as a good guy
I like how 95% of the TWD Facebook comments are usually people getting really offended by the Governor's story getting told, like "UGH THIS EPISODE SUCKS DICK THE GOVERNOR IS TERRIBLE I HATE HIM HE'S SICK THIS EPISODE SUCKS DICK DARYL DIES WE RIOT". The Governor is bad but he's not fucking Hitler.

ech this episode was flat out bad, but the next episode looks really really good. also, why the hell were lilly and co living as if the apocalypse had happened months ago? It's about 2-3 years in at this point, is it not? how had they survived that long on all that junk food and never going outisde
I really dug this last episode. I'm surprised the reception isn't more positive because give me a fucking break, by the end of season 3 the governer was just a mustache twirler. Being able to humanize him is a good thing, because a guy who is just absolutely evil is unrealistic and almost comedic.

The whole episode in general was a nice change from the rest of the series.
why are some of you dingleberries saying this episode was terrible? it was one of the most interesting and insightful episodes of the season, or even whole series, to date. they actually made a character interesting and cool. they took a villain, and gave him a new hope. made you genuinely care about him and see a better side of him. and it was natural too, it wasn't forced. okay, finding another little girl was a little bit of a coincidence but hey, tv show. that's going to give a confrontation with the prison so much more weight. they could easily have brought him back without any backstory and just have him still be a prick for no reason, and then rick could kill him and it would be like 'hooray rick' and he would have been a throwaway baddy. but they have taken a far more interesting approach that they did not have to take. good ep.
i think the beard is what really made the episode [editline]18th November 2013[/editline] the season is going downhill now that he shaved it :/

That would've made a lot more sense than him being an actual human being
I really enjoyed this episode. I'm not sure why I feel this way about this episode but I found it having proper character development. They try it with the other characters but this was the first time in a long time I was pissed a TWD episode ended.
This one was a lot alike the second last episode of Breaking Bad. Making us sympathise with someone who most people previously just shunned as being evil. Just makes me sad knowing he'll probably return to his old ways fairly soon.
i've always found the governor to be the most interesting and well portrayed character in the show. i was skeptical about the surprise last minute return at the end of the previous episode but i'm pretty glad they're expanding on his character even if theres still a lot of stuff happening with the other characters thats still unresolved and up in the air. honestly i've found this season pretty boring up to this point, i've been getting sick of seeing most of the new characters being killed off straight away and i don't like what they've been doing with carol (i like that they've made her a stronger character but i think killing those 2 people was a little extreme and irrational for her at that point) and i really don't like what they're doing with tyreese either. its nice to actually be excited for the next episode for once.
yeah, would've been better if they'd turned him into the crazy psychopath from the comics who kills people for fun and gets off on it, right? That would've made a lot more sense than him being an actual human being
why so hostile, man? I never criticized the idea. Him getting some more characterization is great, but the execution was pretty bad. It was cliched, the writing was horrible and even cringe worthy at some moments, characters acted unrealistically even for walking dead standards, and the ending...[sp] how lucky does he have to be to specifically fall into a new zombie pit dug by his ex right hand man? [/sp] It seems like nitpicking, but really this episode was was just...really below average. There's nothing wrong with the idea, just the execution.
He didn't have one until the Prison, which was a threat. It was more psychological warfare if anything, a necessary evil once more. I know I'm playing the devil's advocate here, just bear with me.
Didn't he bring one of those soldiers into the torture chamber before he learned that the prison was cleared out?
These guys have succeeded. This episode made me not want to see the Governor get killed. [editline]18th November 2013[/editline] For example, the times he was spending with the little girl were the most heart warming scenes the show has had. When he told the girl he was a pirate I couldn't help but like him. I had a smile on the entire scene.
Being able to humanize him is a good thing, because a guy who is just absolutely evil is unrealistic and almost comedic.
He threw the food out of the window. He's straight up psycho.

The only criticism I would give is that how they went about doing the episode was a bit cliche (broken man meets new family, is reluctant and silent at first but opens up after conversing with child and helping them out, then falls in love with mother of child and stays with them as new family, yada yada). Also, I thought this summarized the underlying thought of the Chess scene pretty well (and it's awesome): http://thewalkinggifs.tumblr.com/post/67358428396/live-bait-x-welcome-to-the-tombs
Oh god, what a fucking episode. I am legitimately surprised at the route they have taken. Especially after the last scene in the previous episode. I must admit, I liked the Governor when he was first introduced, then he fell in to the villain role, then the shit hit the fan but now I'm fucking loving him again. That was an entire episode of [sp]redeeming the Governor.[/sp] [sp]If he survievs the next few episodes, i think I'll be quite happy. I believe he has an extra two seasons on his contract, which give me high hopes. One thing i thought the series was lacking in as some non main character development, and so far we've had a whole lot of that. I really really like the governor as a character. He';s essentially a guy who was pushed over the edge. He may not have been all that nice, but he was doing bad shit for the greater good of his group. The death of his zombie daughter basically broke him.[/sp] This has been my favorite episode of the season so far. [editline]18th November 2013[/editline] Actually, this has been one of my (if not my favorite) episodes in the entire series. Please please please please keep him going.
It would be a very interesting route to take if they said fuck the comics and [sp]had Governor work with Rick, maybe eventually leading up to Negan[/sp] [editline]18th November 2013[/editline]
He threw the food out of the window. Already this season has been doing really well. My highlight this episode was the [sp]chess scene.[/sp] I've always been a fan of David Morrissey, but the details of war combined with innocence of youth was amazing. I thought the show added more depth to The Governor than the comic, and the series could keep him on past season 4, albeit without being very sure he could last that long. Now I want him to.
It would be a very interesting route to take if they said fuck the comics and [sp]had Governor work with Rick, maybe eventually leading up to Negan[/sp]
I honestly think that would be fucking fantastic, but it'd be really difficult to get the Governor and Rick to the point where they could viably work together and not try and kill each other on sight. Perhaps if the Governor ended up with another group, and they were being screwed with by Negan, then they could team up. But I don't think anything short of the Governor saving Rick and his groups lives would stop them from killing one another after last season. I could definitely see the Brian trying to avoid banditry (having seen the preview for next episode) and turning over the girls to Rick. It'd be so great if he doesn't die, but I think it'd be hard as balls for them to pull anything like that off. But definitely worth it if they do it right. [editline]pirate[/editline] I'm actually alright with the show heavily deviating from the comics. I think I'd actually be bored if the series stuck to the comics, as we all know what would happen. The fact that the Governor has some actual death, and we've had a look at his humanity making a bit of return really give me hope for the rest of the season. Assuming that he doesn't [sp]join up with Martinez in full force and become another bandit.[/sp] Maybe he'll [sp]attack the prison with Martinez, but stab him in the back before shit really goes down.[/sp]

Kept me on edge, and everything he did surprised me.
I made the mistake of looking on tumblr, everyone and their mother is having a fit about how the governor is a 'sick fucking bastard' who doesn't deserve to be sympathized with in the slightest and has never done any good.

It's a pool of shit throwing monkeys if I've ever seen one.
First episode of Walking Dead I've legitimately enjoyed in a while. It's kind of interesting how they evolve the Governor. Although, I have to agree with some of the fans that I've seen say that we're looking at a Lee and Clementine relationship (especially since they ran TWD Game commericals). Still, I enjoyed the Governor story a hell of a lot more than anything happening in the prison
