We have a Facepunch. It's called Facepunch.
Okay, some people are a little confused so I'm going to break it down for you.
At the start of the ep 6 Gov is suicidal and broken.
Gov meets new people and feels a connection, becomes a father figure to the daughter and wets his whistle with the mum.
Gov burns his family picture to forget about all the horrible things he's done. Wants to start fresh.
Gov wants to set out for a better life.
Ep 7
[sp]Gov runs into Martini and is not sure of what to do, stay or leave?
Gov is kind of happy, but something it still wrong.
Martini offers him joint leadership, Gov snaps, he doesn't want to be that person anymore.
Freaks out and kills Martini.
Nice guy takes over.
Nice guy, Gov and reject Shane go hunting. Reject Shane wants to kill innocent people for supplies, Nice guy says no. They get a couple of squirrels. Certainly not enough to survive on.
Gov realises he wanted to kill to the innocent people also. Realises he's becoming more like old Gov.
Takes his new family and tries to run away. Find a place where he doesn't feel these feelings.
Finds a big pile of mud walkers, this symbolises two things.
1. The road is blocked, they either have to go home, or go another way.
2. The open road is not safe. If not for that mud, they would have been swarmed.
Gov faces his eyepatch to the car, he realises he must become Gov.
Gov gets up early and kills nice guy, he's a liability. They're not going to survive with him in charge.
Gov makes a deal with reject Shane to start acting like Woodbury. Survive by any means necessary.
Little girl is attacked by a walker. Gov realises that where they are isn't safe.
Gov finds the prison. He knows he can take it and protect his new family.
That's a very simplified version of it all. There's symbolism throughout the entire episode. Firstly with finding the picture of the dead guys family, and all the beheaded guys being demons from Gov's past. Ending with him looking at Nice guy zombie in the water, exactly the same as his wall of heads from Woodbury.
There was a lot of repeats from things that happened in Woodbury such as golfing, shooting a walker and just walking away silently. Stuff like that.[/sp]
You probably need to watch them again to fully realise how great the last two episodes were. Gov is pretty much the most developed character on the Walking Dead now.

Post above yours.
"Martini"
To everyone arguing about if the walkers starve [sp]We just saw a bunch of decapitated heads that have been there for some time, so it either takes them an EXTREMELY long time for them to starve, or they just dont.[/sp]
[sp]Also a human body surviving without its heart is impossible so how these heads stay alive is beyond me[/sp]
you cant starve without a stomache
zombies dont starve. they just keep rotting until they can no longer function or there is nothing left to function
You guys wanna know why the Gov changed his name to Brian?
It only has one 'I'

Pretty flawless, except I don't think Gov snapped because Martinez offered him leadership, but rather because he didn't think Martinez was fit to lead / would keep his family save, or that he was a loose end to the past he tried so hard to forget (or would rather not have his new family know of).

Except he kept saying "I don't want it" as he shoved Martinez into the pit?
Except he kept saying "I don't want it" as he shoved Martinez into the pit?
I think that kinda hinted at how he didn't want to kill Martinez but had to for the greater good, just as he had to do all sorts of morally questionable things in the past in order to keep his people save.
Edit: Actually I might be wrong at that one. I thought he said "I don't want to do it" as well, didn't he?
Edit2: Right so I think I was wrong about him saying "I don't want to do this", but I think the point I made earlier still stands, especially after reading a recent interview with Scott Gimple regarding the episode:
Is the Governor's takeover of Martinez's community all part of a larger plan to claim the prison?
No, the Governor absolutely didn't expect this to happen. This is something that he was trying to resist. It was a part of Lily, Tara and Megan's life. He was absolutely trying to avoid becoming a leader in Martinez's group. As he was killing Martinez -- and it's a very conflicted moment -- he said, "I don't want it. I don't want this." It was such a point of anger for him. It was everything he didn't want, but he didn't want love and attachments, which is a seemingly a new wife and little girl and having a family again. With the good things he didn't want, he's also getting the terrible things that he didn't want, too.

I actually stole it from facebook, does that make it stolen stolen content?
And he stole it from a tweet or something on the show, so you probably stole it from a guy who stole it from a talk show host who stole it from some other guy. Somebody stop this madness!
Great words from David Morrissey:
Well, the thing about him is I think he’s a man that we see struggling to stay away from that awful responsibility of leadership. He doesn’t want that. He wants to be led. He wants to protect the people he loves. And he’ll do anything he can to protect them, even be subservient if that’s what is needed. He’s in that community with Martinez and I think he just wants to be a quiet civilian, really. But he sees weak leadership around him. He sees the people there who say, “We’ll protect you,” and they’re not able to protect them. They’re not able to protect the people he loves. So he’s forced to take responsibility the only way he knows how and with the thing that has served him in the past, and that is being ruthlessly vigilant when it comes to his duty in leadership and protection.

Nobody else is going to do it. He’s got to step up. He’s got natural leadership qualities so he has to step up and do it. And he doesn’t want to do it, and what we love about him and what we admire about him is his fight before he takes up the reins. He tries to get out. He says to Lilly, “This place isn’t going to be safe anymore. It’s not safe. Things are going to be bad here.” And what he means is things are going to be bad with him. He can feel that dark side rising inside of himself and he’s trying to get away from it. And he can’t get away from it. He tries and he hits this wall of zombies and he knows that he’s got to go back and face that camp and face those people and take the reins of leadership.
wise words my man, wise words.
It would be interesting to see where the series goes if the Governor wins [sp] (Will never happen though)[/sp] just because he is the most interesting and complex character currently on the show. Rick's group has been feeling a little stale to me this season with the exception of Michonne and Herschel. I still wish Merle was around to add some flair.

in the comics [sp]he wins and after that he dies[/sp] so there you go.

Pretty sure he'll [sp]be able to take out the prison and take some of Rick's guys with him (1 or 2) and then die so the Governor arc is closed with no loose ends and the group has a reason to move away from the prison.[/sp]
Big comic spoiler[sp] I didn't really phrase that right. I know he dies in the comic but I think it would be interesting if he were to live. I wonder what would ultimately become of him, his new home, and how it would impact his new families view of him. [/sp]
I would love to see The Gov or Daryl (comic spoilers) [sp] Become Dwight from the comics.
They could play it off:
Gov - Hates negan, can't take over himself so he goes to Rick's group, they have a bad history so it could play similar to the comics.
Daryl - Leaves the group to look for carol, finds the saviors, they make him join, becomes Negan's right hand man. [/sp]
