Episode 9(mid-season premiere in Feb) is the closest the episode will have ever been to the comics.
Also isn't [sp] Glenn the only one with the woodburians? [/sp]
Either [sp] he leaves them [/sp] or (comic spoilers) [sp] They meet up with the saviors and we eventually get what happens in the comic, but different set up. [/sp]
[sp] yep, glenn is the only one on the bus from the original group [/sp]
i cant even go to /v/ without seeing spoilers god fucking damn it
[sp] Fucking Darryl ruined a perfectly good tank, he was close enough to throw a frag into the cannon but not close enough to open the hatch and kill the driver, even without ammo you are basically invincible from zombies[/sp]
[sp] At least Rick is alive and still has his sexy gun [/sp]
okay i was seriously rooting for the gov in his 2 episodes, i really liked him and wanted to see him change
but [sp]when he killed herschel and just shot megan in the head like nbd? nope, fuck him, i hope he dies. and im so glad michonne did[/sp]
also about judith [sp]i really dont think shes dead, when the girls killed the lesbo, it was only the 2 of them and the other 2 weren't there. pretty sure they grabbed judith[/sp]
[sp] its pretty obvious that judith isnt dead, at least not yet ;)[/sp]

Looks like [sp] Zombies on the bus and Glenn is probably the only one that gets out alive, unless they want to expand on some of the woodburians. [/sp]

shit
first they took the rv from spaceballs
now they use the stunt double joke
everything was SO FUCKING SATISFYING OH MY GOD
[sp]the way the governor's death lined up with the comics, oh my fucking god, and while im sad about hershell's death, i liked tyreese more in the comics so lets hope he can still be the tyreese from the comics since he got another chance. this is why i love this show holy fuck, i mean it's kinda ridiculous that an entire small army against the prison and the prison didnt lose a single person in the actual firefight is kinda bullshitty, i kinda hope lily didnt shoot him in the head and he comes back as a walker cameo. that'd be pretty fucking awesome if not cliche. judith's not dead, if they were trying to censor a infant's death, they wouldve shown some walker walking towards it and *baby cries* *sudden ripping sound* *no more baby cries*. a lot of the tension in this episode was basically a mix between "no fuck they cant kill him" and "oh shit kirkman you fucked up no" especially at that part with carl. less so at the governor/rick fight cuz i knew the governor was gonna get stopped it was so predictable.
overall, not really BEST episode ever but def 10/10 holy shit, had me on the edge of my seat.
p.s. that hershell scene was just fucking cruel. they showed him to possibly have hope and then takes it away fuck. [/sp]
It felt kind of out of place when [sp] Lilly showed up with Megan. It just felt awkward to me. [/sp] Other than that I liked the episode.
TV [sp]Gunfights in this series never look right, pretty much because of the absolute lack of tactics from any of the cast. I mean, there's a tank outside the fence and the prison group's response is to run out in the open and stand bunched up next to a fence? If it were at all realistic, they'd all be dead at the start of the firefight, which is exactly what I said about Breaking Bad's Ozymandias firefight. The tank's "charging up" noise was pretty annoying too. I suppose it's all excusable for the sake of dramatic effect but I think 90% of the scenes involving human v human fights could've been done a lot better, the only one I really enjoyed being the attack on Woodbury. That's the nitpicking done, anyway, other than all that I think it was the best episode of the season so far, and it marks the end of the boredom the prison brought. I wonder if Carol will be brought back in, and also what happened to Beth and Tara? I can say that I genuinely can't wait for the next half of the season.[/sp]

[sp]I gotta agree here. More of the prison group should've died though I'm not sure who; the only ones I noticed that did were that guy with the bolt action rifle, and Herschel obviously. On Gov, I thought he was just gonna get ripped up by walkers which would've been more fitting in my opinion - He's an asshole character so he should've had a gruesome death. Also I forgot to mention, the camp that Mitch, Gov and Mr gruff tank man come across getting looted indicates that there are more survivor groups, so hopefully that'll come about later on.
Oh yeah, the tank. I'm not sure what a grenade down the bore would actually do, but with the way it was burning that'd have certainly caused the rest of the ammunition to cook off, it's not exactly a modern tank.[/sp]
Well a grenade down the bore, me and my dad instantly caught as "it'd only work if he was reloading it (to put another shell in)" and it had just shown it firing a shot. So, idk the actual specifics on if it'd work but, logic is pretty sound.
CAROL THEORY
[sp]I think she's going to end up with Tyreese. He went with those two girls, and Rick/Darryl never finished telling Ty that Carol was the killer. It would create a lot of tension for Carol and the viewers, with Tyreese being in the dark about the whole thing (is that racist?).[/sp]
Basic rule of TWD (TV anyway). If they don't visually show a death, theres a good chance they're still alive.
I don't know,[sp]showing a baby dying on TV?[/sp]They'd get some serious shit for that. Besides, it would match up with[sp]what happened in the comics.[/sp]

Last question though!
For the guy above me, read the last couple paragraphs.
I have never cried so much in such a small amount of time in my life. The moment [sp]Herschel was killed[/sp] it was just nonstop sadness.
[editline]2nd December 2013[/editline]
I just finished it, and I am physically ill from sadness.
Was that zombie near the end [sp]who was walking towards the prison, Clara? Looked like her[/sp]
Was that zombie near the end [sp]who was walking towards the prison, Clara? Looked like her[/sp]
Yeah it had that blazer on
The perfect opening for 4x09 would be [sp]Michonne putting down Hershel's reanimated head[/sp]
[sp]Well that was really saddening but a great episode though. Glad to see the Governor finally get what he deserves. I wonder if Judith is dead or not too, they were hinting that she should be but this show loves to trick us sometimes.[/sp]
While it was a good episode overall I'm slightly disappointed that the Daryl train now has more orgasm-fuel
Honestly he hasn't done much this season to deserve staying alive, he's had almost 0 character development and very few lines. But we get to see him in the mid-finale being a badass. Apparently rotten flesh is bullet proof from fairly high caliber automatic fire
Oh god my heart is broken :(
Apparently rotten flesh is bullet proof from fairly high caliber automatic fire
Another bit that really annoyed me. I mean, that scene barely made any sense. They were just trading shots with him, so if they were looking that direction HOW did they not see what happened? That and yes, those bullets would've ripped through both the corpse and Durl. I mean it'd have been fine if he got the body and walked out with it just as a trick, but the second they decided to all fire on that one "walker" ruined it for me at least. I mean, they're going up against guys with guns, why would they at that point even care about zombies 50m away?
[sp]I love how this episode gets aired just as christmas kicks in[/sp]
carl is the worst actor evor
[sp]Lily shooting the Governor seemed so out of place. I mean shit was going down all around, chaos everywhere, and she comes out of nowhere to end his life? And for what reason? It wasn't his fucking fault that Megan died. In the comics it made more sense at least. It wasn't a bad episode but something felt a little off.
Also, I thought the Governor was going to keep Megan as a walker just like Penny. [/sp]

[sp]I knew this was the end for Hershel. As soon as Rick started his speech, I knew that was it. But when I saw that he wasn't completely decapitated, I had hope. I had so much fucking hope. Then he finishes the job. Oh fuck me. My favorite character, gone. I'm sad a shit right now and can't fully put in to words how much this hurts me and my hope for the series.[/sp]
I'm really trying to forget that, just so I can sya this: I really liked this episode. It was the big prison battle I've been hoping for, and I'm glad to see they did go with some of the comic directions.
They've managed to bring other characters in to the spotlight, which is fantastic.
[sp]But oh my god I can't believe Hershel is gone. I really don't want him to go. Killing him accomplished one thing, which was a massive emotional response, but you now lose everything else. All his reasoning and wisdom and humanity ha now been taken away. But, maybe that's the point? He'd give everyone too much hope, so they had to take him away.[/sp]

I felt the same way when [sp]Dale[/sp] died, but this time I was expecting it at least, so it didn't affect me so much.

I think it's because [sp]He promised no bloodshed. Lilly was isolated with her family for all the time and isn't hardened, it's probably the first time some major fuckup happened for her. She realized that she had been naive and that the Governor was a liar. Personally I got an unspoken "All this blame is on you" vibe from that scene.[sp]
