Thank you for being more eloquent, you put it far better in words than I could have. I think they are not as well placed. As for "black influence", just forget about it. My point was just that many songs just had to felt to crammed with features that it didn't feel like Gorillaz anymore but just a collab with between tons of people. I know that Gorillaz has always been like this but as somebody mentioned already, it feels like the "crew" of Gorillaz was replaced. Sorry, it's very subjective and I'm not really arguing that it is a bad album, it just didn't much for me and I lack the proper wording to phrase it coherently.
Nah it's all good, don't sweat it. If I'm being honest I also thought the album was mediocre and it didn't give me near as much satisfaction as I got from Plastic Beach. Ah well, maybe they'll try again some time?
If they ever came to Canada, it would likely be Toronto or Montreal, I doubt Halifax would house Gorillaz anytime soon and I just don't have the money to travel.
nobody ever comes to Halifax
So, been a while since I popped in, few months at least. Now that HumanZ is out, is it a good Gorillaz album? Worth the wait? [editline]4th May 2017[/editline] Reading the last page, it seems people have the same problem with HumanZ as I did with Random Access Memories from Daft Punk....Which is just being more like a Collab and the main Characters/Singers/Band taking a backseat. Feels more like a "Songnamehere - Ft. Gorillaz" than "Songnamehere - Ft. Famous Singer"
I think it is still a little too early to give final judgement given that Gorillaz albums are always growers, but the general consensus seems to be that this is their weakest album yet. The highs are very high, but the lows are arguably the lowest they've ever gone. IMO it also feels the least like a Gorillaz album out of all of their work. Still a good album compared to the usual, but not worth the wait personally. Definitely give it a listen though.

Managed to get tickets to their show in Amsterdam!
Managed to get tickets to their show in Amsterdam!
Got three tickets for my friends for Luxembourg, I have no idea what to expect to be honest. Each ticket cost 50 euros which is a bit but expected more. Gorillaz has somewhat of a legacy.
your feelings are unintelligible then?
I think they mean that the intro to Plastic Beach is way better than the one for Humanz.
I'm not sure what I think is the best damn song in the new album. I say it's Saturnz Barz, Strobelite, then Submission, then Carnival, then She's My Collar. I really like this album but I understand some people's concerns with it.

It really encourages discussion and seeing the album from various perspectives.
Carnival would have been a standout if it had been at least a minute longer
I think they mean that the intro to Plastic Beach is way better than the one for Humanz.
but like what qualities make it better and not simply different though
but like what qualities make it better and not simply different though
I'd guess it's more the fact that the intro songs on the rest of their mainline albums pretty concretely convey the tone of their respective albums. Though at the same time, the intro track for Humanz transitions into Ascension so well that I pretty much just see Ascension as the actual intro track, which I think works a lot better in that context. Really, I see the interludes on the album as more of an extended intro for the following song, if anything. [editline]f[/editline] Though I can't deny Plastic Beach has one the best intros I've ever heard on an album.

It's settled, Momentz is my favourite track from the album
My record player is busted and I only have the Vinyllll.
So Humanz just kind of came and... went. Have we gotten any news on some more content coming up this year?

Another album for this year sounds unlikely as well. New music video will be neat though, I don't care much for merchandise.

I don't know if that counts as the album of unreleased songs they were talking about though.
[hd]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zeCto1SxXh0[/hd] oh god it's so creepy
Humanz is probably my 2nd favorite gorillaz album with The Apprentice being one of my top 4 gorillaz tracks easily I think Going to the nyc concert v excited
[hd]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zeCto1SxXh0[/hd] oh god it's so creepy
I was more surprised that they used the old Phase 2 toys. Which is okay for everyone but Noodle's current design, pretty much. [editline]2nd June 2017[/editline] Also we may get an interactive studio soon enough, I've heard mentions of the "Kong Electric Studios" or something like that. One can hope.
Anyone else get a notification from the Gorillaz app today about a new some or something in 2d's room with the shelf? I didn't find much.

Truly a golden era.
I want to listen to this song on repeat forever
Finally, a song that's concentrated pure borderline feverdream Gorillaz. -snip-
Did they put it up for download anywhere?
