Who is it that says [sp]"Darkness rises..."[/sp] in the new trailer? Is it Snoke?
I would assume so, since it shows him in his throne room at the time of that line. On the subject of Snoke, I just noticed that he has very striking blue eyes and surprisingly lively skin tone. Barring the sort of Force-trickery that masks faces, would this put Snoke closer to the light side of the Force than Palpatine was? Is he even Force-sensitive? So many new questions as the film gets closer to release.

Also holy shit Snoke is massive even in the flesh. In the trailer he's shown at the very back of the room while other characters stand a fair few yards away from him and he's still towering over them.
god damn mark hamil is killing it with his acting

Is it me or the voice sounds like?

Any idea if they're going to do Black Series figures of the main character of Battlefront 2?
So there could totally be morally grey Force users who use lightsabers, like Jews for Jesus or something.
Bendu for the Force

They announced an Inferno Squad figure back in April actually.
GameStop exclusive.
Quinlan Vos might still be alive, at least shortly after ROTS
[sp]The newest issue of Darth Vader, he is on a list of possible jedi who could have survived the initial purge. But it could just be an Easter egg.[/sp]
Huh, so during the creation of A New Hope, the Emperor was a puppet, he wasn't a sith lord, he wasn't all powerful, the real rulers were his advisors and such.
It wasn't until they started writing ESB that his character evolved.
The original ANH novel describes his original rise to power, he was forced into the position by people like Tarkin, and then they took over.

Also his first name 'Sheev' has existed since at least 2009, it was going to be used in the Live Action series that never happened.

Now I'm imagining an alternate universe where the original Star Wars wasn't successful, and we never got the Empire Strikes Back. Instead, we got a low budget movie of this:

I've catched up with the first six episodes of the fourth and final season of Rebels.
As of now I'm enjoying the season trying to wrapping up the whole show by making it a prequel of sort to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. In particular, I'm appreciating the increased presence of the Death Troopers: I like them in general and they are clearly far more competent than your standard troopers (which however isn't saying much, as anyone who watches this show may attest).
Unfortunately the issues I had with all the previous seasons haven't exactly gone away: Imperials are still portrayed as a bunch of incompetent morons, there's a massive disparity in main characters' screen time and development (poor Zeb), Thrawn shifts between an officer with an average intelligence and an high-ranked military commander seemingly allowing his own side to be undermined under vague "greater scope plans". In short, Rebels still suffers for being, let's be completely honest, a kids' show first and foremost.
I'll definitely watch the whole thing till the end and hope the protagonists will have good send-offs and Thrawn a decent death
Thrawn will survive, judging by his Wookiepedia page

one example is the Stormtroopers entering the Rebel cruiser through a hole cut into the ceiling instead of an airlock door because they're being tactical motherfuckers
there's also a bit of increased brutality - the trooper that Leia shoots at the start quite literally gets his head explosively melted off by the blaster bolt, pieces of bone and cooked meat flying all over the place. i had to do a double take at that part and check if i was still reading "Star Wars" by George Lucas
Today's Rebels
[sp]That 'ore crawler' design reminds me of the World Devastators.[/sp]
So given that the lothwolves are capable of [sp]some form of local hyperspace travel[/sp], that one Ahsoka card Filoni drew is starting to make some more sense...
Really creative naming scheme.
I mean when the galaxy has like 1000000 billion similar creatures, wolves as an example seem to be something a lot of worlds seem to have, you sort of eventually go for the simple naming schemes.
[editline]edit[/editline]
You know, the main thing I'm hoping The Last Jedi has? a fantastic score, TFA was underwhelming at best in that regard and honestly, music makes Star Wars.
Really creative naming scheme.
What are they on the planet Loth or something?

Well I just picked up Lords of the Sith and Heir to the Jedi. Only a few books away from running out of Canon material.
Heir to the Jedi
Rest in peace.
I'm kinda to the point that I'm just getting through the few uninteresting ones just because I haven't read them.
Maybe it's just me, but I don't get what's so cool about the Lothal's Wolves from Star Wars: Rebels.
I do love Filoni's work, mind you, but his attempts at portraying Force mysticism are often extremely hawkward and over the top (does anyone remember Mortis from The Clone Wars?)
The whole Mortis arc was also Lucas idea IIRC. Wasn't soley on Filoni.

That explains a lot

HOLD THE FUCK UP.
WHAT.
The new trilogy is separate from the normal episodic saga following the Skywalkers.
My first thought was "oh fuck off"
oh wow, they somehow managed to make me tired of star wars before the third film. sick
