Also how fucking cool were Snope's personal guard?
I myself was a big fan of [sp]the guy with the chain-sword, but while the fight itself was good, there's something that rather lessens the impact of a big elite-personal-guard battle when the guy they were meant to protect is in two pieces on the floor behind them already.[/sp]
Is there a source for the musical cues that start at 0:27? I remember The Force Awakens took cues from Empire and Jedi and kind of mixed them all together; so I thought maybe this is from somewhere

Honestly though, I'm so happy I went in without having watched the second trailer. It seems like it spoiled so much.
I saw it, it was good. Couple of weird decisions and like, a few parts where the pacing kinda went all over the place
Other than that I would highly recommend it if you enjoyed TFA

I don't know, for me it seems it tells 1 "story" that doesn't actually exist; and everything else is mostly a visual montage followed by a cool line that seems to imply something. Too little context and doesn't really have a relation to the film's story, I think
Saw the movie a second time today, noticed a bunch of stuff I missed [sp]There were a bunch of shots that emphasized that the top layer of the ground is white salt, and under it there are red minerals. At least one shot showed Kylo during a fight with Force Projection Luke sliding the leg back, thus uncovering the red mineral ground. This is a set up for another shot where Luke does a similar move, only this time the salt stays still, because he's not actually there. Pretty cool, even considering the fact that he seemed to be able to project physically, he created physical dice after all[/sp]
Never noticed until someone poimted it out but nobody said the line "I've got a bad feeling about this"
Rian has said the line is hidden somewhere.
We know each movie was suppose to feature one of the main OT cast. Ep9 was suppose to be Leia's movie.
Pretty ridiculous. Nobody has ever given a toss about Leia now they're trying to pretend she's more important than Luke.

no they're not.
There's a good theory for the hypserspace thing:
[sp]Ships have dampeners and locks or whatever to make sure that ships can't just ram them like that or always run away if in close range, it's mentioned several times in Legends. Hux and the fleet had theirs off, as they wanted the rebel ship to try and jump and waste the rest of its fuel, as it was too fast for them to catch up with while normally running and a jump knocking out their reserves would be all they need. Since they didn't expect the ship to ram them, and were very cocky, they didn't have them on and weren't expecting a ram.[/sp]
[sp]Are you thinking of interdiction fields?[/sp]
What was everyone's favorite little detail?
Mine is [sp]BB-8 doing an impression of a mouse droid when he was in the box. You can hear him do the four-beep pattern, and not quite hitting the right tones.[/sp]
Yeah after seeing the movie, I think something fucky is going on with the audience score.
I can see having complaints with it... but given that fucking Justice League can get an 80% audience score, something doesn't add up.
lol in my theater [sp]the scene when Holdo jumps through Snoke's Destroyer, in the absolute silence of that beautiful shot a child right in front of me loudly asked his parents "DID SHE JUST KILL THAT SHIP"[/sp] :rollout:
[sp]I will never be able to unsee Luke milking alien tits, fuck you Rian Johnson and fuck you disney for letting that happen[/sp]
What is even the criticism of the movie? I watched it last night, it wasn't flawless but it was pretty fucking great, in my opinion. It's up there with Empire, though I'll need another watching (of both) to decide which is superior.
it's really weird because i watched it with some mates last night and we all hated it.
Is... Rogue One really that bad? I haven't seen it yet.
I genuinely enjoyed The Last Jedi as well, and while it stumbled here and there [sp]The whole casino world substory with Finn and Mary served very little purpose for how much time it took[/sp]; I praise what I felt like was subversions of the audiences expectations and overall darker tone (Aside from the jokes).
i feel they hid a lot of plot related stuff in sub-seconds shots.
[sp]the whole casino scenario important because the kid that they gave the ring to can straight up use the force with no training. rey also took the jedi scriptures from the tree that yoda lit on fire and has them in her drawer[/sp]
idk if it's obvious but being a more recent Star Wars fan since I just saw all the movies like... idk last year or the year before or something, I loved it
but I'm grossly easy to please, so
I plan on seeing it at least 2 more times probably lol
[sp]the fucking hyperdrive-a-ship-through-a-fleet is probably the coolest scene I have ever seen in any sci-fi movie and I really want to find a clip of it so I can watch it over and over again like holy shit[/sp]
Is... Rogue One really that bad? I haven't seen it yet.
It's not a movie to watch if you're deeply interested in character development. Doesn't add anything new. That said, it's a very fun movie to actually watch and the fight sequences and battles are really well done. Alan Tudyk as K2SO is a highlight, as well as Bodhi
[sp]rey's parents being junker nobodies is a lie because in TFA Maz asks Solo "whos the girl?" and the two of them are not seen again for 5 minutes, implying a conversation took place between them that the viewer was not meant to see. what did Han solo tell her?[/sp]
Is... Rogue One really that bad? I haven't seen it yet.
First few acts are slow but the finale really makes up for it.
Is... Rogue One really that bad? I haven't seen it yet.
Rogue One is really good imo.
It took a while to get going (altho I didn't really mind that as much as some people seem to) but once it gets going it's a blast.
I might have to see Rogue One again. The first time I saw it, I didn't get attached to literally any of the characters.

[sp]That she's just some girl who he found on his ship from Jakku. There is nothing to read there. Though I agree that Kylo lied. I don't think Rey comes from an important family, but I don't think they were junkers. the ship looked fancy.[/sp]

Probably because none of them get anything but the most paper-thin characterization. A lot of people seem to be unduly charitable on Rogue One simply because it was better than the prequels, entertainingly mediocre rather than offensively bad.
I was thinking [sp]part of the reason to make Rey a nobody and have the kid at the end who has the force too was to show that even though the jedi order died w/ vader and all that there's still loads of people in the galaxy who are force sensitive that aren't Skywalkers. You don't see much of that in the original trilogy or TFA, you might get the wrong idea about how many people exist who can do little stuff even w/o training.[/sp]

Plus, [sp]two of the most powerful Force-users in the galaxy are dead by the end of TLJ. In going with the theme of balance, that's a big vacuum of power in the Force which leaves a LOT "to go around" to Force-sensitive beings realizing their potential.[/sp]

[sp]I think that also might be why they've been trying to hammer in the whole "the force is a part of everything and binds us all together" thing since TFA. That Jedi and Sith are not unique in their use of the Force, it's something that so many can potentially harness even without "formal" training[/sp].

Yeah that sounds about right.
I mean I liked the prequels because obviously I didn't grow up with the originals. I can see why people don't like them but it's really hard for me not to since it's all still really new to me.
But comparatively, Rogue One just didn't have me really enamored with anyone. Whereas I can pick out an easy favorite in all the others.
I don't mind giving it one more chance though.
