[sp]Range Trooper looks like the lovechild of a snowtrooper and a shoretrooper, I love it.[/sp]
About the lightsaber crystals.
Mainly from games and some shows I always liked the idea of crystal caves that are rare but can be found on various planets. There you can find various colors and even some rare ones like cyan, orange, etc. I also liked the reason Sith have red lightsabers is because the caves are usually under Jedi control and the Sith have to make synthetic crystal that always turn out red.
Then there are KOTOR 1 and 2 games where some crystals and lightsaber parts can give the blade some other properties that could be translated to some visual effect (not a stat-boost). KOTOR 2 also had the idea of a crystal bonding with the user and making his connection to the Force stronger.
I personally found above concepts alright and not too crazy. At this point I'm not sure what's canon.
One last thing, Jedi colors being based on their class. I feel like that's mainly based on games and in reality green and blue (and yellow) crystal are just very common.

My post (4949) is the current canon.
You can always check wookieepedia as well.
That's a legends colour.
The only canon colours at the moment are, Amethyst, Black, Blue, Green, Red, White and Yellow.

One of the mini-figures looks to be a [sp]Pyke, a species from Clone Wars TV series, according to canon lore, the Pyke Syndicate was the one who hired smugglers to run Spice from Kessel[/sp]
There's actually a much higher quality gallery of all April 2017 releases out there: https://imgur.com/a/CjYCr

Lego has a lot of leaks, especially the big names
What is it with this fucking franchise and taking tiny mistakes and unimportant throwaway lines and turning them into actual goddamn lore, it's completely baffling
My favorite is the sandcrawler droid with the bad motivator purposely damaging himself so Luke would take R2-D2 instead, because he was actually a Rebel droid as well and knew Princess Leia's message needed to be delivered.

Didn't R2D2 fuck him up though? Also look how many times Leia's ship stole the blueprints for the death star and narrowly avoided darth vader in EU lore

That wasn’t canon even in the EU. It was just a fun story.

That could very well be the absolute most contrived piece of drivel I have ever read in my waking life

Well hold onto you blue milk because thats actually a mistake.
He wasn't a rebel droid. He was a force sensitive droid, that saw a vision of the fall of the empire being caused by R2.

And it wasn’t canon even in the EU, it was a fun comic story.
it wasn’t meant to be taken seriously

Could'a fooled me, the EU was packed full to bursting with insane bullshit and nonsense
I think my favorite character is Andor Solo
[t]http://i.imgur.com/x3lR4Ou.jpg[/t]
Y'know, this guy? In the EU he's actually a relative of Han Solo who was part of a number of operations against the Empire. News of his death is actually part of why Han chooses to come back at the end of A New Hope and I can't fucking handle this I made all that up but googling it it turns out he is a real character named Pello Scrambas and he has a detailed backstory fuckin fuck, he can't just be an old man he has to be El Pollo Scrambles, noble warrior of the Scrambleboys faction
That wasn’t canon even in the EU. It was just a fun story.
it's canon in my heart

Why are you defending Skippy
It may have been non canon but there's enough people that believed that it was.

I’m not sure how that is defending.
I was pointing out a fact.

Even the wookiepedia article is vague enough that someone stumbling on it for the first time might assume it was canon at one point. I mean, this is how they chose to lead the page:
R5-D4, also called "Red" by Luke Skywalker, was a red and white-striped R5 astromech droid owned by a group of Jawas on Tatooine in the early days of the Galactic Civil War. Shortly before the Battle of Yavin, the Jawas attempted to sell him to Owen Lars, but the droid purposely malfunctioned his motivator, so that Lars could purchased R2-D2 in R5-D4's place. The droid survived an Imperial attack on the sandcrawler soon after, and went out to find the rebellion.
Fan wikis suck the fun out of everything. Well, except for the Transformers wiki - at least they know how to have a good laugh about their favorite franchise.
Isn't that how real life is, though? Everyone has a deep as fuck, wikipedia long backstory if you think about it.
I have no wikipedia backstory :frown:
I have no wikipedia backstory :frown:
Only you can expand on that bro
Only you can expand on that bro
Hey it could a decent business model
$5 for every wiki backstory.
You could be swimming in money at the end of the year

That's the canon article, we were talking about the Legends story.

there's two articles there, canon and legends. legends is EU side
[editline]8th January 2018[/editline]
and what you just quoted happened in the movie
Remember to laugh at anyone who says the old EU was any good outside of a few games or books.

Say what you will about Disney but starting new from the Eu was nothing but the right choice.
Well thank LucasFilm then, it was their idea.

Read it again:
Shortly before the Battle of Yavin, the Jawas attempted to sell him to Owen Lars, but the droid purposely malfunctioned his motivator, so that Lars could purchased R2-D2 in R5-D4's place.
There is no indication in the movie that the droid blowing his motivator was anything other than the result of the Jawas trying to sell a broken piece of shit to Uncle Owen. But now its apparently canon that the droid blew it purposely to aid R2-D2 in his mission.
This is arguably worse than Skippy the Jedi Droid, because we've gone from a joke story in the old EU to actual canon. Even if it's not as ridiculous as said joke story, it's still a stupid lore addition that over-complicates a rather straghtforward movie. Just like how the new Solo movie is probably going to blow Han's little lie about the Kessel Run into a full fledged final act set-piece with tie fighters and black holes and shit.
But it wasn't because of the force, which is what we were getting at before.
