Star Wars Megathread Episode IV: A New Thread: UNTAGGED SPOILERS? 1 WEEK BAN

I honestly believe JJ Abrams and Lawrence Kasdan weren't interested in pulling anything from the prequels when they wrote Ep. 7.
Well at that point the prequels were 50+ years ago in Universe.
There were clearly nods though, with the reference to Clones.
Snoke is obviously [sp]Greedo. Who else would have a grudge against Han?[/sp]
I don't understand, why is it so hard to believe that Snoke is a 100% Brand new character?
Did one of the writers or someone from LucasFilm hint otherwise?

His theme is very similar to Darth Plagueis.

It is just dark side evil sounding music. Doesn't mean anything.
I don't understand, why is it so hard to believe that Snoke is a 100% Brand new character?
Mostly because we know nothing about him. Why did he take over the pieces of the Empire instead of anyone else? How is he a force user that we never heard of before, when all but Luke, Vader and Palpatine were supposedly the last?
honestly. saw in the recent episode of rebels had no reason to be so hostile. he was just a plain asshole? it all felt phoned in.
It all felt phoned in because, again, it was a two-part episodes in the service of Rogue One and not the main plot points of Rebels proper.
They needed to show how Saw became the extremist we saw in the movie from the well-intentioned freedom fighter from The Clone Wars, and that they did. And nothing else, really

The novelization for The Force Awakens, tweets from Pablo Hidalgo and other interviews revealed that:
1) Leia and Snoke used to know each other on a personal level
2) Snoke used to have a stunning phisique before being horribly disfigured after years of the dark side ravaging his being
3) Snoke was around as early as the Rise of the Empire era
4) Snoke has a deep knowledge of the Skywalker family
All of this leads me to believe that, at the very least, Snoke's identity is a twist that will be revealed in the future movies.
Again, him being Plagueis would be something I'd really like, but I'm not illuding myself for a single second about this theory being just one among countless speculations
Lemme introduce you to Darth Jar Jar
Darth jar jar at least has some actual possibility.
Think about it. He and Sheev are a secret team, once jar jar gets into padme's inner circle, he has a set position to help orchestrate anakin's love dilemma, and purposely gets himself in her senate position to give sheev supreme power.
There's also a scene just before the podrace, when padme says "i don't approve". Look at jar jar behind her, it looks like he uses the force to make her say it.
We'll get a reveal, then an episode about him in Rebels.
And that will feel like filler too.
I don't think they'd outright retcon a line from the movies.
Considering they keep taking things Lucas wrote to heart.
Palpatine himself killed Plagueis, I think he'd know if he was dead or not.
They don't have to retcon the line, just the death. You can have it so he didn't die and that Palpy was wrong.
Maybe snoke just did some force trickery or he laid some decoy. I don't know, him getting killed in his sleep just seems off. Someone that powerful would sense the danger miles off, Vader can certainly sense danger like that in the comics and Palpy can sense Vader's immense rage.

Palpatine has a knack for clouding people's minds when it's convenient for the plot.
Palpy Palp was a cunning bastard, if he wanted to kill the biggest threat to his plans (at the time) he would be sure to do it properly
Jar Jar just moves so well/is so lucky. He can't not be force sensitive as fuck.
Wait hold on, the Darth Jar Jar thing is serious and some people actually believe it? I always thought it was a joke people brought up to shit on other peoples tinfoil hat theories.

Snoke is Lando.
Watch Snoke be Sifo-Dyas or some other obscure jedi

It was right under our noses the whole time
Come to think of it, I've finished watching The Clone Wars a short while ago and I still don't have any fucking clue what the hell Syfo-Dias did and where he ended up in the end.
Oh well.

He commissioned the Kaminoans to create a clone army under order from Count Dooku

Maybe Minor R1 Spoilers

R1 Spoilers [sp]The shots of Saw in the trailers without hair, were indeed flashbacks/scenes that were earlier in the movies timeline[/sp]
Here is my old theory on Snoke. [sp] He is the FIRST Sith ever. I believe this because of Luke being at the first Jedi Temple discovering secrets or something and Snoke seems really old and powerful so it could be [/sp] I havnt EP7 in a long time, i had other things to support this but its my two cents.

See, that was my first thought, but you'd expect people to be a bit more...impressed by him, in that case. Everyone mentions him so casually, it makes me think he has to be someone recent.
There's only one logical answer to who Snoke is.
3) Snoke was around as early as the Rise of the Empire era
Tarkin was there and Snoke was there, noticing a pattern?
4) Snoke has a deep knowledge of the Skywalker family
Tarkin and Vader were bros. Hmmmmm
[sp]if this joke ends up being right fucking shoot me[/sp]
And with Rogue One, [sp]they ensured that we're used to seeing Tarkin as CGI![/sp] Not to mention they both have glorious cheekbones.

I just realized that Snoke has a massive fucking question mark on his head.
Real subtle.
thank fuck none of that is right, and snoke is in fact [sp]an original character that's thousands of years old.[/sp]
Never knew about that Snoke info dump before, he likely isn't Plaugeis then.
Hell, I didn't even think he was human before I read that stuff.

I really hope not for that last part, because then where was he during all previous movies?
[editline]8th January 2017[/editline]
