An actor who played a pilot in Star Wars and was once married to Felicity Kendal died after choking on his fish pie in hospital, an inquest has heard. Gordon 'Drewe' Henley had numerous roles in film, television and theatre, including as X-Wing Squadron Red Leader Garven Dreis in Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope.
Daily Mail The Sun
Henley has been dead since February of last year; these new reports are just revealing a cause of death.
its even right there in the article
The 75-year-old, from Axminster, died last Valentine's Day, February 14, 2016, at the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital after choking on his fish pie lunch.
in fact im pretty sure i posted about it in the old thread

One thing i thought that piece of crap [sp]best SW movie in the last 36 years[/sp] rogue one did right was the punch of the blaster. Everytime one went off, it was scary. That, and the empire seemed both menacing and often competent. I do wonder how the OT would change if they captured that stuff like R1 did. Like in the original movies, the cartoons, and maybe the prequels, the only time that a gunshot seemed violent was when greedo bought the farm. Otherwise, lasers kinda crossed the screen and went through people, making puffs of smoke. And lightsaber fights are quite light and fluffy in comparison to [sp] Vader Vadering [/sp] in rogue one. I wonder if it'd change the lighter tone of the OT too much. Edit: The cartoons have some pretty rad saber work sometimes. But even more ineffectual lasers to drag that down.
can you really stop doing that, it is annoying.
Nothing has been confirmed yet for what they are gonna do, but Lucasfilm's has gone ahead and confirmed they're not gonna just do a CGI Leia for Episode 9. http://www.starwars.com/news/a-statement-regarding-new-rumors "We want to assure our fans that Lucasfilm has no plans to digitally recreate Carrie Fisher’s performance as Princess or General Leia Organa."

Those lightsaber fights were so clumsy. Not sure how much of it was because of what they used for the lightsabers or because of the actors Hamill looked like a kid trying to hit a beehive from a treehouse.

I figure Luke has no prior melee training, and the relatively small amount of time that passes any training he could've done doesn't make up the amount of training the old jedi had. As I think has been discussed before in this thread, Vader's suit is evidently restrictive, so he tries to only move as much as necessary. I figure Luke just isn't very well trained, and Vader is just trying to swat him away.
That and Vader isn't actually trying to kill him so he's probably holding back.
Star Wars is really doubling down on petite British brunettes aren't they? Emilia Clarke, Felicity Jones, Daisy Ridley etc
I can see a small similarity. Also, lightsaber fights are meant to be more blunt and less flippy around and twirling in the new trilogy. I like the idea of that.
I seem to recall one of the main reasons the old lightsaber fights looked so clumsy in comparison to later ones is because the original lightsabers used broke easily.
The only lightsaber fight that looked at all clumsy was the fight against Obi-wan and Vader. And even then I still really like that fight.
Those lightsaber fights were so clumsy.
I think some of original lightsaber fights still feel like they have more weight and emotion to them than what the prequels had, though.
Well, yeah. You're talking about a period in which the Jedi are pretty much extinct versus when they're at their peak. The PT duels aren't fate of the galaxy/father vs son like the OT duels are.
idk i felt like felicity jones being cast was an elephant in the room considerinf she bears striking resemblance to daisy ridley. maybe thats just my opinion but they had so many options to pick the role that it felt like a bit more coincidence they look so similar, thrn again some people would probably disagree and claim they dont look alike at all
[t]http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/starwars/images/b/b4/Rey_infobox.png/revision/latest?cb=20160122041020[/t][t]http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/starwars/images/2/2a/Jyn_Erso_Fathead.png/revision/latest/scale-to-width-down/500?cb=20161109012753[/t] Beyond hair and eye colour, I don't think they look alike.
they're both pasty-faced british girls, that's where the similarities start and end.
they're both pasty-faced british girls, that's where the similarities start and end.
Also one can portray emotion with her face.
[img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/55wQtAR.jpg[/img_thumb] I quickly whipped this up, but the general shape of their skull, ears, nose, and the location of mouth and eyes are pretty much the same (I did not have to adjust stuff at all). Ridley just has the jawline of Schwarzenegger.
They have similar noses. Anyhow. Back to fights. Yes, the OT gets some emotion behind them, and they're not unenjoyable despite the lousy combat. For instance, luke looks like an idiot swinging around on Jabba's barge, bt it's still entertaining. The prequels had pretty unemotional fights. Phantom menace was first unmemorable and second more of a dance (and maul's death was absolutely stupid) II I can't remember, III had the anakin/obi fight that would've been good if it wasn't that elaborately long and conveed emotion better. Grevious was just filler, yoda vs the emperor was just gaudy. TFA- Fin was OK. Rey sucked. Ren was a wreck. [sp]R1-More. Give me more. [/sp] Fights seem most real when there's the darkside behind it and they're fighting with aggression. As for luke swinging like a fool. I don't think 'I've trained with the force, not with a lightsaber' is really good enough, and vader's cybernetic augments shouldn't make him so clumsy if he's to be feared [sp] Rogue 1 did him perfectly) Luke [/sp]didn't even have a good chopping motion, and I get the swords sucked so they had to deal with that, but it still looked quite noob.
I got the Star Wars Propaganda Book thingy earlier today, it looked interesting and I got a bunch of book vouchers for Christmas, (Book Vouchers, Socks, Chocolates) the art is amazing, I love how you can tell which posters inspired them, while they still look individual enough to be unique. Some of my Favorites; Both of these, really. I Absolutely love the Hitlerjugend lore behind this one.
I want one, that book looks amazing
i got that too, haven't read through it yet but it looks hella cool.

Holy shit.
cool scene but I also get why it was cut. why is unkar plutt there to begin with? isn't he in cahoots with the first order? at least that's what I thought
I don't think he worked for the First Order, they were probably offering a reward for BB-8.
