Star Wars Megathread Episode IV: A New Thread: UNTAGGED SPOILERS? 1 WEEK BAN

I've always liked Episode 3 most out of the prequels, and excusing all of the films other faults from the moment I first saw it I always hated the "Execute Order 66" line because he refers to Cody by his name, we know there are at least 327 Commanders in the Clone Army, this much is still canon as the 327th are mentioned in TCW, so did Palpatine/Sideos call each commander separately, because that seems Really ineffective, as several Jedi could be warned before their Clones turn on them.

I mean he could have given the order and then the clones contacted every other clone about it.
I'm only really disappointed because [sp]I really wanted to have some games or books or something about Jyn and Cassian having their own Jedi Knight-like relationship. I really enjoyed their characters, and it's a shame we won't see them again.[/sp]
If the EU gets to be as rampant and ridiculous as it was before, there's still a way.
so did Palpatine/Sideos call each commander separately
you didn't catch onto that from the film? he very much did.
iirc the clone trooper helmets have communication chips in them, so generally if one commander heard it, it would be broadcast to every trooper.

Wouldn't work the way they want.

I get that, it just seems really inefficient, especially as it leaves as much time between Palpatine calling each commander (4-5 seconds), those clones shooting their Jedi and that Jedi getting killed, In that time someone could easily let the remaining Jedi know, I've calculated it and calling 327 commanders would take 30 minutes, not including all the other unknown clone units. In the film he refers to the Commanders by name.
Am I seriously questioning the logic in the prequels?, god help me.

Well there could always be Rebel clones like Jyyyn Erso.

The impression the movie gives is that he calls a few of the commanders to tell them personally, and then for others they get what just seems to be a generic automated version.
Him deciding to tell a few of them personally is another reason i find the whole "A Chip made them do it!" thing really stupid. If they had no choice why would he do that? He even talks about it with Cody like it was planned the whole time and they already knew about the order.

I just assumed "execute order 66" was like the code activation phrase for the chips, ala "Would you kindly" from bioshock.

i'm not sure where you get this idea of someone being able to let the jedi know, when they're scattered all throughout the galaxy. only a handful were at the temple, and you would have to physically go there, or have their frequency, which i don't think was easily obtained, and that's assuming anyone was around to answer it.
furthermore, any civilian trying to question why a clone trooper would shoot their jedi commander would most likely get charged with treason and arrested on the spot, maybe even killed. also, don't forget that after he finished giving the order, palpatine held an emergency senate meeting, describing the attack by mace windu as an assassination attempt, and made the jedi public enemy #1.
When Bail witnessed the clones gunning down a Padawan one of the troopers aimed at him before the other one told him to stand down
Almost finished with TCW, I'm on the finale of season 5. I was really skeptical when I watched the first episode, but I stuck it out and it has gotten way better. I definitely appreciate the show breaking into small arcs instead of adventure of the week. I wish I would watch Rebels online.
another rebels preview

I can see that whip and repulser being put into SWRPG in the near future.
It'd be nice if useful mandalorian tricks were used often, by badguys.
Also. It bothers me how all main character jedi so often act un-jedi. Like I know they're always late to the party, but we never really get a clear Idea of the Jedi way through characters.

damn good prosthetic.
I knew about the changing of Puppet Yoda in Phantom Menace but didn't know about the other prequel changes

IIRC it was a mix of puppetry, CGI, and live action, depending on the scenes.

Pictured here is Creepio experimenting with the Singularity Engine on Tatoonie. One of his many victims as he skinned dozens of organics for their flesh promised to him by Father.

God, CG Yoda is so much better then that Episode 1 puppet.
Though I don't think they spent as much time on him as 2 and 3, hes missing some of the lighting, sub-surface scattering and the like.
I actually like most of the changes there, barring the end for aotc
went to see Rogue One again
i don't think that last Vader scene will ever get old
That vader scene is the best kind of fanservice

I went on record and said that, if a theatre near me would make me pay the ticket's full price just to sit inside and see those 40 seconds-worth scene, I'd gladly pay up and allow the staff to throw my sorry ass out afterwards too
24 Minute Star Wars Show Special on Rogue One, so spoilers obviously

Vader scene is the one thing I'd watch a 10 hour loop of.
The video above includes some HD shots of the space sequences.
That annoying intro reminds me; did that big whooping alarm ever actually show up in R1? I believe I remember it in RotJ at some points but I don't think it has been used since.

It was also in ESB I believe.
