I feel like we didn't see enough of sassy gold robot. I miss sassy gold robot.
My partner hates C3PO because she thinks he's abusive to R2-D2. It wasn't comic relief to her. It was serious abuse. and also, that R2-D2 isn't a trash can, but a hoover.
It seems some people don't understand The Old Republic era is entirely non-canon now and none of the things shown in the games are relevant anymore, really.
Why do people keep using this as an excuse to not use the Old Republic Era? Barely any of the new canon has touched the Old Republic. You don't have to assume that it's completely different. Something set in the Old Republic era now could be nearly or exactly the same as it was before. [sp]I don't mean to sound confrontational, just an opinion.[/sp]

And I would rather not have Legends TOR era back because it's hastily made clusterfuck. Kotor completely ruined it because Bioware just wanted to do something familiar to average gamers. And TOR only made it worse, with NotEmpire vs NotRepublic (the prequel era one).
new canon is taking all the cool ideas of legends and not fucking up the execution

[sp]I don't mean to sound confrontational, just an opinion.[/sp]
The whole point of getting rid of everything was so they could start over and choose to do things their own way this time, reintroducing pretty much the entirety of the Old Republic era again would go against that. It could be the same, but why would they do that? From what i've seen they haven't done any with anything so far, just taking something how it was before and sticking that in somewhere. If they did something in the Old Republic era, it would be new. Revan and things from the games might appear, but they would not be the same; they'd be new characters just based on the previous versions, like Thrawn was.
Every star wars film is set within a century of one another. While it would be cool as fuck to put in the old republic, origins of the jedi and sith orders, or even that Sith sengoku Jidai in the wild west idea i put out a couple pages earlier, it's harder to market that as star wars. There's also no driving reason to canonize it, other than people wanting their thing to be canonized. I mean, don't get me wrong, Disney know a star wars label will get butts on seats in the cinema. And honestly they might consider doing something radical when market saturation comes into play. But it's just that all the star wars films have been heavily connected so far. It's a little less plausible to have R2-D2 banging around for thousands of years than it is for a hundred. That, and no doubt disney execs want to know exactly what it is they're cannonizing, and they probably don't have the best selection of gamers in the ranks. Is the old republic even their IP now?

Do you think that a majority of the people that actually enjoy Star Wars content know the distinction between eras that aren't literally labeled Episode 1, 2, 3, 4 etc? People were confused about Rogue One not having Luke and Rey. Really. This was a thing people I know were confused about. Do you think that, just because TOR doesn't interact (except it does) with the new canon doesn't mean that people won't believe it does? Besides, there's already canon that fills in some of TOR's gaps. Ancient lightsabers, new Malacore lore, etc. I'm 100% for an Old Republic series on Netflix. But here's the kicker. You'd have to write a whole new TOR to make it fit the canon. They can do that, for sure, as they have that whole storyboard thing to make everything consistent between IP's. But you can't expect to see the games 1:1. There are things they would implement, for sure, but it won't be how it was.
Guys i think kotor is canon and here's why
People were confused about Rogue One not having Luke and Rey
How could anyone get confused about that?
depending when they set it, an Old Republic era series wouldn't have to worry too much about the PT/OT/ST eras.
I feel like it's better off doing old republic era in another form of media. I dont think there's much wiggle room in a movie for tor era
[t]http://i.imgur.com/s70UkZi.jpg[/t] Apparently there are also rumors of a UCS MF re-make.
I've heard it's going to be a re release instead of a remake. Possibly they will change the parts to try and lower the part count , but that won't change the price:part ratio so much
could you [t] tag that image, please?
I'm not saying that it has to be a carbon(ite) copy of the OG old Republic. My original comment was a reply to someone who said that the Old Republic stories were not relevant anymore. They could still be, of course it will be rewritten to some extent, but the possibility of setting something during that period still exists. And about people being confused about the time line: Of course people will be confused, Rogue One was still released though, even though some people didn't understand. People who don't understand the concept of prequels are no reason to not make the show. Rogue One is proof of that.

If rewritten to explore important lore from the new canon, I'm gung-ho. Otherwise, I don't want to see the utter trash that TOR has become on any show or movie.
How could anyone get confused about that?
quite a few people cried havoc when they thought there was an actual third Death Star after Starkiller Base and were super confused when there was no mention of the protagonist trio from TFA and Vader had been resurrected. people are idiots.
They've slightly changed the First Order storm trooper helmet https://www.reddit.com/r/StarWars/comments/5ub2c8/new_image_from_the_set_of_the_last_jedi/?st=IZ8F56LE&sh=03152c8c https://www.reddit.com/r/StarWars/comments/5udxgr/looks_like_the_stormtrooper_face_plates_have_been/

Looks like the smile is gone. Guess that happens when you lose your secret planet destroyer weapon
this comes to my mind http://ukitakumuki.deviantart.com/art/A-New-Stormtrooper-s-Nightmare-475992083

Doesn't look really that original from Force Awakens outside Rey holding the lightsaber instead of Finn. Kind of disappointing. [editline]16th February 2017[/editline] Happy Rey's hair is out this time instead of all tied back, at least.
It's the old clone wars color scheme. huh.

Only think I can think of is the recent Rebels episode changed something about the Mandalorians, but I don't follow the show so I don't know specifically.
