It has to be after, they can't retcon/alter the movies dialogue.
authors and readers can pretend they can
this is somewhat better and i'd like to forget that darth vader going "NOOOOOOOOOOOO" is canon because it kinda destroys all his menace forever
But it is established canon.

Fans and readers can ignore it all they want, but it's still canon.
Author's most definitely cannot pretend it didn't happen because they're writing to continue what is already canon, and movies take precedent over any literary canon.
Actually, the Revenge of the Sith novelization was the first source which tried to retcon the whole scene to something actually worthy.
Basically, the moment the Emperor tells Vader Padme is dead, the latter understands that he has been tricked and his "Force incontinence" thing was actually him attemping to kill Darth Sidious via the Force. However, he quickly realizes that, in his current state, he can't kill the Emperor and now he has no one left but him: so begins his dark servitude or something
Well still, the novelizations are not canon when they contradict the movies.

I can't look at the last 2 panels without it looking like Vader is about to choke one of the Mr Men to death.

Well if their intent was to make what happened in the movies far more better by coming up with an even dumber idea, they have succeeded.

why is Charlie Brown dressed as an imperial officer
What EU ships would you like to see come back?
I'd really like to see a lot of stuff from X-Wing/TIE Fighter/X-Wing Alliance to come back, like the Assault Gunboats, Missile Boats and the like.
For those who didn't watch the panel live. Also the images they failed to show during the Live Stream are in here.

It's been more than 10 years since Episode III released and I never got around to asking but, why did Darth Vader not attend Padmes funeral on Naboo?
[editline]17th May 2017[/editline]
Surely Emperor Palpatine would attend a funeral for a prominent political figure from his home planet.

I can't vouch for Darth Vader at the moment, but maybe Darth Sidious thought that, after ascending to the office of Emperor, such public displays were no longer necessary

I don't see why he would avoid such things especially since it's almost 20 years before Episode IV and the didn't dissolve the Senate at that point yet.
Let's look at it this way: He didn't have to pretend to care anymore.

Doesn't the book have even dumber parts for that scene, like the Droids Fixing Vader polish his suit to trick Palpatine with how shiny it is so won't notice the budget cuts or something like that? Not sure if it was the same book but i remember reading about something like that happening in one of them.

He was likely busy sulking. The guy had just been horrifically disfigured and thought he killed her.

So Saw is evil as fuck, damn.
I wish R1 mentioned this though. He didn't come across as the mass murdering terrorist kind in the movie, only someone who's a bit hardcore.
It seems like a given though, considering even the Rebel Alliance thinks he's too extreme

They said it in R1 but that's it.
Rule of thumb for any sort of storytelling is "show it, don't tell it".
the next Season of Rebels is going to show more.
And another welcome surprise on the comic front.

Really looking forward to seeing more of these two.
ready for more droid banter
Mace Windu and Cassian comics would be cool, but are any of the new comics even good?
I picked up a couple on May 4th when comixology was having a sale, and wasn't super into what I read.
The Darth Vader ones were sorta alright but those evil R2/3PO droids are silly. The Han Solo one has Han and Chewie [sp]win a legendary intergalactic space race just, in between ANH and Empire[/sp] and the Journey to Star Wars: The Force Awakens/'Shattered Empire' story explains that Poe Damaron's parents [sp]were some ultimate ace pilot and a crack black ops saboteur cliche, instead of actual people[/sp]. Oh and it also featured this absolutely ludicrous sequence where Princess Leia is suddenly a fighter pilot going off to fight empire remnants in a Naboo fighter. Which was weird considering she's never been shown as capable of piloting anything, let alone a starfighter from like 40 (or maybe 50?) years ago that have just sat in this spacious hanger, completely untouched since the Phantom Menace.
What actually made me laugh out loud though was when the current Queen of Naboo, who they were protecting at the time, decides she's going to come along as well:

The uniquely stupid dialogue mixed with the bodyguard's reaction really is something special.
I've liked all the series except Princess Leia

Man, it's a real shame that The Clone Wars got cancelled, all those episodes sounded excellent.
The Bad Batch could totally be made into a game as a spiritual successor to Republic Commando.

You're seeing him at a point where all that shit took its toll and still didn't fill the hole where his sister was, he's not gonna be all fire and brimstone at the end of his life.
