Thank god the Yuuzhan Vong are staying gone
Thank god the Yuuzhan Vong are staying gone
Give it time :v:
Give it time :v:
Their role has been taken by First Order and Snoke. They won't come back, certainly not without major overhaul.
There is something out in the unknown regions. Threats to the Chiss and the empire, that is why Thrawn sought out the Enpire for help. Now it probably isn't the Vong this time. But there is something. Palpatine was also afraid of something out there. Something he could sense with the force but Vader couldn't. He had observatories built around the empire to find out what Maybe it is related to Snoke
and exist outside of that Force thing we established all living things are a part of."
Can easily rework that as they're immune to force things, such as the Hutts are. But I agree we won't see them without a major overhaul, and I doubt we'll see them any time soon, but eventually Disney is going to run out of ideas for their "Star Wars movies until the end of time" thing.

He had observatories built around the empire to find out what Maybe it is related to Snoke
I think it is Snoke. In the span of 30 years, Snoke brought a whole new faction of the dark side into a perfect position to become the dominant power in the galaxy. Snoke's dark side faction is the secret power behind one of the two major governments in the galaxy, which has just set itself up to move in as the galactic power in the events of TFA. Palpatine probably thought it a threat to his own rule and the Sith as a whole, not so much a threat to the dark side as a whole. Remember that there are different factions for each side of the Force, and the dark side ones tend to be more competitive and combative. Now that the Sith are gone, Snoke's faction can walk right in to power, with Snoke and Kylo Ren at the helm.
That makes sense. I can't see the them brining in another big threat between 6 and 7. I hope we get more Empire focused books set between 6 and 7, I want to see what they faced trying to set up in the Unknown Regions.
In the D23 promo they just released, they teased more info about the Last Jedi will be shown there:
I still want to believe Snoke is Plaguis after going into hiding and building up his chance to take back power.
Didn't Palpatine kill Plaguis?
Didn't Palpatine kill Plaguis?
Allegedly :v:
I still want to believe Snoke is Plaguis after going into hiding and building up his chance to take back power.
I want to believe that Snoke is just a new character. [sp]Oh wait he is.[/sp]
Allegedly :v:
Definitely wasn't allegedly in the Darth Plagueis novel. I know anything non-movie is questionably canon, but it was a good read, and if that being canon is wrong, I don't want to be right. Bringing him back from the dead would make no sense anyway

Bringing him back from the dead would make no sense anyway
That novel was Legends-era, so it's officially not canon at all. But the author of that book also wrote the Tarkin novel, and he snuck in a droid character that had been in the Plagius novel as his/Palpatine's aide, so we can still believe in spirit it's still in the timeline.
I still think that the whole Darth Plagueis story should just be a story that Palpatine uses to seduce Anakin. It's far to specific to Anakin's situation to be real, Palpatine just made that shit up.

I don't know, I like the idea that he's luring Anakin in with real, legit Sith history while playing it off as some myth he heard once. The darkside hiding right under people's noses.
4 Vanity Fair covers for Star Wars EP8 https://i.redd.it/alktkdgfb9zy.jpg I really wouldn't call them spoilers unless you consider what a character is wearing to be a spoiler.
Snoke being Darth Plagueis is one of those theories I know don't have a very high chance to be confirmed, but I cling to it nevertheless, mostly because I like the character that much and it would make a great connection between the three different trilogies

I guess you could argue that he could hide himself, since Obi-Wan and Yoda could, but then you've got the issue of how he survives. I know that his whole shtick was preventing people from dying, or influencing the force to create new life or whatever, so I think there could be a solution there, but it could be a little contrived. For narrative purposes I think it makes a lot more sense for Plagueis' arrogance to get the better of him. He seemed to honestly believe that he was so good and that the dynamic that he and Palpatine had was so unique that they could ignore the rule of two. As if Palpatine would just be happy to serve him as an apprentice indefinitely. I think it's an aspect of sith behaviour that really illustrates the flawed and short-sighted nature of the sith. Every successful sith believes themselves to be better than anyone who ever came before them, and even though every single sith advances by betraying and killing their former masters, they don't seriously believe the same thing could happen to them. Sure, sometimes they make backup plans and secret apprentices and all of that business, but I think that there's something innate in the ideology of "be a dick for power's sake" that leads to masters either letting their guard down to achieve a grander goal together (such as Plagueis helping set Palpatine up to seize control of the galaxy), or just underestimating their apprentice/not realising the potential for their apprentices to turn away from them (like how Palpatine couldn't see that Vader would betray him to save his son because he himself was too far removed from those relationships).
Did Poe Dameron steal Han Solo's clothes?
Yeah, because Finn stole Poe Dameron's clothes.

Shows a few new settings & characters (Benicio Del Toro).
[sp]Why do I feel like DJ is gonna be another Lando Calrissian?[/sp]
According to that article Carrie was meant to be at the front and Centre of Episode 9, like how Harrison was in Ep7, and Hamil will be in Ep8. I wonder how much of what they had planned they're going to have to change.
Before anyone asks about that familiar looking alien in the Vanity Fair shoots
Can we please get a Bothan character in one of the mainstream films though? I don't know why they shy away from them in everything but novels and comics.
