It just gives me more of the impression that "this is trilogy is just like the original, [I]but bigger![/I]" Just like when they showcased how big Starkiller Base was compared to the Death Star. Can't wait for the 3rd movie to have an even larger Starkiller Base that has been under construction all along.

This is also the first First Order ship to actually be classified as a Star Destroyer, the Resurgent is a Battlecruiser and the Mandator is a Dreadnought. TBH I always thought that designation was dumb as an 'official name'. A nickname, sure, but not an actual military designation.

Just wait till they show off the next one in episode 9, Super Mega Class Super Star Stealth Destroyer. It's just 2 of the Mega Class Star Destroyers sandwiched together with black white-polkadot camo to hide them in space.

the next super star cruiser's official designation should just be "Spaceship"

I don't like anything I've read on this page. This looks a lot better then the damn Eclipse. It at least fits the design asthetic of the first order.

The [I]Eclipse[/I] also fit the design aesthetic of the Empire--it's a black Star Destroyer with an antique bow. Unless you think Death Troopers likewise don't fit the design aesthetic of the Empire.

The only similarity to a Star Destroyer is the fact it is a wedge.

I dunno, I didn't think the Eclipse was that radical a departure in design. If anything it looks closer to a Star Destroyer than most recently designed or other expanded universe Imperial ships.
