So I was right, that was a booster engine in the trailer (or was it the BTS celebration video?)
http://www.empireonline.com/movies/news/last-jedi-exclusive-rian-johnson-talks-snoke-kylo-ren/ "We got the whole story of Palpatine’s rise to power in the prequels, but in the original films he's exactly what he needs to be, which is just ‘The Emperor’" Johnson tells Empire in the new October issue. "He's a dark force: the scary thing behind the thing. That was entirely how I approached Snoke. I wasn't interested in explaining where he came from or telling his history, except where it serves this story.” So little or no backstory to Snoke in the film. [editline]5th September 2017[/editline] Knowing Star Wars they'll probably do an entire novel dedicated to his story sometime in the future though.
I really love this design [t]http://www.figures.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/DSCN9032.jpg[/t]
I've just realized the TIE Silencer is Black and Dark grey (although that model is a different shade to in the actual movie it seems)...why? I thought the colours for the First Order TIE-class ships were Black with White side Pannels.
Kylo is a Vader fan boy and wanted the original colours
It's been shown as all-black in official renders and merchandise - presumably to match his command shuttle and because Kylo's enough of an edgy dark side nerd to want his ship in black to try and look intimidating. The model one coming in gray is just Revell being lazy (in case that box art wasn't enough of a tip off).

Rather than being aimed at scale-model hobbyists or collectors they're basically toys that you put together (in some cases with with flashing lights and sound, from what i've seen), unfortunately. Some proper Star Wars themed scale-model kits would be great, Bandai do some but even they're pre-painted and snap together, and Revell's kits that aren't the "build & play" stuff aren't overly good.
Bandai do some but even they're pre-painted and snap together
Akshually, it's just coloured plastic with a lot stickers/waterslides included for details. I don't see what's stopping anybody from painting it other than "parts that snap together are for casuals". It's not like you don't need to give it the full seamwelding treatment if you want to paint it, which you're going to do anyway unless you're satisfied with bare plastic. It doesn't matter if it's colour-separated or not once the primer goes on. But then again I don't work with military/scale models so I wouldn't know if not having to glue every part on just to fit it together is losing out on the experience or something.

Guys, I know that Snoke isn't going to be Darth Plagueis. Only, I'd really like if it was the case. A twist like that could rev up the otherwise stricly by the numbers current movies plot. In my opinion, at the very least

The new Phasma novel and the first issue of the comic help explain why she so willing to shut down the shield [sp]She isn't completely loyal to the First Order, she is in it for herself, and will do what she needs to do to survive. In the comic after she escapes the trash compactor, she wipes computers but someone else had accessed the logs before she wiped them and shes chasing them down and is probably going to frame them as the traitor.[/sp]

She's just a side villain that plots to betray everyone around her? Boring as hell.[/sp]
Comparing Snoke's appearance across the two films, he looks [sp]noticeably more human in TLJ. His right ear is no longer damaged, his eyes are more recessed with smaller irises, eyebrows are more prominent, the scarring around his mouth has changed, he has different lips and some added wrinkles make him more expressive. If you cut his face vertically, he's half human half ayy lmao.[/sp] I like the changes.
[sp]More boring than just being another blindly loyal First Order officer?[/sp]
[sp]I'd rather have a loyal FO Officer than a minor villain who'd betray the organization if she saw the opportunity and then do it again at the next organization.[/sp]
