Comparing Snoke's appearance across the two films, he looks [sp]noticeably more human in TLJ. His right ear is no longer damaged, his eyes are more recessed with smaller irises, eyebrows are more prominent, the scarring around his mouth has changed, he has different lips and some added wrinkles make him more expressive. If you cut his face vertically, he's half human half ayy lmao.[/sp] I like the changes.
He looks great in TLJ, a lot better than TFA as I was initially disappointed. Does anyone know how they are approaching the character, as in CGI, puppet or really heavy make-up? Might be a stupid question but I don't know much about it. I know he was CGI in TFA but he looks more real this time around.
Snoke in TLJ is a puppet.
I think with some CG enhancement.

That's some serious skills on the makeup/CGI/puppet-department. Remains to see in the movie of course but looks promising.

The colossal gap between Force powers in the movies and Force powers in the Expanded Universe always bugged me

Yeah Dark Empire is something all right. It's set only like a year after the original Thrawn trilogy and yet everything is turned upside down and sideways. Plus the level of Force powers seen won't be topped again until the Force Unleashed.

I've got a suspicion that Dark Empire was initially written up by the Dark Horse crew as their own, 90s-comic-influenced, independent idea of what happened next after ROTJ, going to town with crazy force powers and revived Emperors just because they could, only to have to hastily tie some things up when the pressure came down to tie canon seams in with the ongoing novels like the Thrawn trilogy.
Like, I've only read an intro/preview from the first comic online, and the intro struck me as the writer going "Oh, shit, those books said the Rebels already retook Coruscant? Uh... well the Empire just takes it back! And Luke, Han and Leia all go in to retake it as our story begins! Also Ewoks as part of the attack force!"
my favorite part is where luke becomes jedi goku jesus and is said to look like he's using 12 lightsabers at once

Sort of, in that there was no official attempt to organize the authors in the old days, so they just kind of haphazardly had to contact each other if they wanted to mesh together. In fact, Kevin J. Anderson was writing the Jedi Academy trilogy at the same time (which happens the year after Dark Empire), and when he found out about it, he called the writer to hash out what all was going to happen. Important, since a lot of "important" shit goes down in DE that wouldn't have been mention in JA otherwise, like uh, Anakin.

To be fair, Luke's dad was slapping around blaster bolts with his bare(ish) hand(ish) as early as ESB. Jedi powers were pretty mysterious and unaccountable back in '92.
you could account that for vader having a presumably durable cyborg suit of armor, though

This is interesting though. I wonder if this is his "Fuck you" to Wb after having to go through attempting to salvage BvS then having a bunch of JL rewritten. Although I imagine its not that petty.
Apparently Rian was offered it but turned it down.

Like I mentioned in the other thread on the matter, he probably didn't want to do two Star Wars movies back to back. Making a movie is tough, making another Star Wars movie right on the heels of the previous probably would have been too stressful

It was confirmed by Rian Johnson that Snoke would once again be entirely CGI.
I wish they didn't recruit Abrams again.
Oh and it's funny how the TIE Silencer is essentially the TIE Avenger/Advanced from the X-Wing game series.

I know it's last season, but what the fuck, you're literally assuring that it'll have shitty ratings.

Who the fuck cares about tv ratings anymore? Everyone is watching shit online.
Episode titles and dates for the first load of S4 episodes:
"Heroes of Mandalore: Part 1 & 2" (15 October)
"In the Name of the Rebellion: Part 1 & 2" (22 October)
"The Occupation" (29 October)
"Flight of the Defender" (29 October)
I wonder why they're doubling up on episodes
They're getting rid of it.
$$$

It's still uneasing.
Some old fashion networks might kill some series over bad ratings regardless of how often someone watches a pirated or even bought digital copy, it's happened before.
Maybe not for SWR but still
s4 was already confirmed to be the last one ages ago, there's not going to be anything to kill in the first place
You should read her novel, it is really good. Really fleshes out her character.
Imagine if Han Solo was just a heartless smuggler and didn't come back to help Luke? If a grey character has no stake, or conviction pushing them into the central conflict, then they don't serve the plot and frankly have no room for growth. I figured she would play a role in the later films, and her presence in the first film being completely interchangeable with say just a rando hardass storm trooper sarge was just a writing compromise so that they could get us familiar with her and later flesh her out in the next two. Now I'm cautiously pessimistic that her she'll do fuck all, again, and probably just survive the explosion of star killer base Ver. 2 all without any real mark on her character so they can make comics/merch based on her.
I hope they prove me wrong, but I'm not holding out for it.
It's a different situation when it's a villain character. If anything a self interested villian offers more growth than one who advances first order interests. Look at Cad Bane in Clone wars who went from working for the Seperatists to striking out on his own all with goal of making money. He ended up being one of the best villains in the show.

I want to see what happens when Lego give the same sort of treatment to the Super Star Destroyer.

Glad the Millenium Falcon is back on top, surpassing the Taj Mahal.
I thought inferno squad was taking a bad turn but then it turned it around and powered through the end. I think I liked it more than Twilight Company.
Pretty major book spoilers:
[sp]It was painful to wait like the whole fucking book to confirm that The Mentor was Lux. So many hints but some stuff made me doubt.[/sp]
