I'm actually a little surprised they didn't punish explosive classes more with random crits also increasing self inflicted damage as well.
Back in Quake, the quake damage multipled damage output by 4x. But besides dealing 4x damage to enemies, it also did 4x self damage, which pretty much garuntee killing yourself in the process 99% of the time.
I also don't understand why random crits jump straight to 3x the damage too. Even 1.5x to 2x wasn't enough appearently lol... Not that I like random damage output in general. Just out of curiousity. The only reason Quake went straight to 4 was because Quad and Quake both start with Q, and Q was the what the powerup looked like. TF2 really didn't have a reason to jump straight to 3.

Pub TF2 is a party shooter. Crits are going nowhere; For real competitive scenes, they have the crit-disabling commands for a reason.
guess valve made the random crit survey for a reason too.
Can we go back to letting this thread be dead?
