VRChat, pretty much by itself, has justified the price of the Vive (and accessories) for me. I don't think I've logged as many hours as many others even here on Facepunch, but every time I've had the chance to play, it's been a blast. Also, Gorn. Just mindless good fun.
A few other people have said it but I'd like to point out that Hot Dogs, Horseshoes and Hand Grenades is really so much fun. There's not much *game* there to speak of, but if fiddling around with guns and gunplay mechanics is something that interests you, you should check it out.
I absolutely love Gorn, Robo Recall, and GORN. Skyrim VR isn't the best VR experience, but if you really like Skyrim by itself I think it's worth it. Mind you, I'm a fanatic that's played it for 500+ hours over 3 versions with a variety of mods (Special Edition mods mostly work in VR too, by the way)
Skyrim VR Resident Evil 7 VR Rec Room VR All full length VR game
H3VR for yourself. Robo Recall and GORN for others. (Secure your belongings before GORN.)
Honestly, Google Earth VR is fucking fantastic. I've spent at least 8 hours total so far just exploring random places on the globe. A lot of that exploration was of my city and various places I remember from my childhood. H3VR, of course, is great if you like guns. The best part of that game, imo, are Wurstworld and Take and Hold. They seem like actual games. The rest of the game is just gun fun. Beat Saber is an outstanding rhythm game but I'm pretty sure everyone has gushed about it already. If it seems like an intimidating game, it is at first. I remember thinking I'd never be able to finish an expert level song when I was first starting out, but after several hours of just playing the game I managed to S rank all of the songs in the base game on expert. Part of that victory was spurred by a friendly score rivalry between me and another friend who is really good at the game. We managed to get global ranks on songs above the 1000th place in nearly every song just through trying to beat each other's scores. Some songs we even got past the 400th place.
I've spent 90% of my time in H3VR, Dirt Rally and various flight sims. Played them since I got the helmet in January, 3-4 times a week for a good hour or two.
I've played GORN. Was some fun shit. Def. weights in on the decision to buy it at some point.
There are companies who will create corrective lenses that fit into the headset. I'm not sure what is needed to correct for astigmatism, however it may be worth contacting one of them to ask (I commonly see people going with VR Lens Lab, however I have no experience with using them)
Damn, that never ocurred to me, thanks man!
I haven't convinced anyone around here yet, but I'm really enjoying Gunheart right now. It's a pretty neat Borderlands-ish shooter where you jump around an alien planet and shoot bug people.
I've noticed a trend where Devs rather make games about shooting robots or aliens or shit. I imagine it's because "Virtual Reality game about murdering people" makes for a nasty headline
I don't know. Murdering alien life forms isn't exactly a new concept in science fiction.
GORN Superhot VR Star Trek: Bridge Crew Beat Saber Pavlov VR Are the staple games in my eyes, each one has their own unique control system.
