https://www.epicgames.com/store/en-US/product/super-meat-boy/home In case anyone still doesn't have it, here's the second giveaway on Epic Store.
I already have it, but I'm curious - which soundtrack?
Um. I have created the gog account to get SOMA but it doesnt let ne redeem it? I am super confused
I had a similar problem, instead of using the store page of the game, go to https://www.gog.com/ and redeem it there.
Thanks a bunch!
You can switch between the 2015 and original in the game options
SOMA isn't Amnesia. Amnesia's experience almost revolves around the monsters always being on your tail and the game wonderfully compliments that. SOMA on the other hand doesn't have any real mechanics reinforcing the fear of the monsters, nor do they enhance the story or have any relevant gameplay tying them in like Amnesia did. It's honestly a better game without them. Amnesia: The Dark Descent is probably my favorite horror game of all time, but SOMA really isn't written like a horror, its more like a smart science thriller akin to Michael Crichton's work.
Something to add as well to the Safe Mode in SOMA, it's not that you're completely immune, the monsters will still attack you if provoked or if you directly obstruct their course. It's handled really well, and it can actually make some moments even more tense because when you're in a tight corridor you won't know whether the monster will actually come towards you or just walk past by in the darkness doing whatever. The tension is still all there, just a lot less frustrating thanks to the removal of unneeded forced stealth, especially during critical story moments.
^Like above post mentioned. I found it to be a lot more scarier and adds a better experience due to SOMA's story, like a different form of paranoia that something lurks. Which enhances the great atmosphere SOMA already has.
What remains of Edith Finch is currently free on the Epic Games Store. Once redeemed you keep it forever.
I can totally vouch for the game: it's one of the few genuinely good walking simulators that can make great use of sudden gameplay changes to keep itself fresh at every turn and deliver its bizzarre narrative. My my, this Epic Game Store is starting to look more and more interesing, isn't it?
A Story About My Uncle is free on Humble Bundle if you subscribe to their newsletter Blast Zone! Tournament is free on Steam for a limited time. I haven't played nor really heard about either game so I can't vouch for their quality but hey, free stuff is free.
No. The lack of reviews or forums for discussion make it an inherently anti-consumer store. No one praised Origin when they used to give away free games, they said "EA, REE!" I don't see why Epic should be any different.
the difference is that EA is absolutley popular ONLY by being absolutley shit with prices, so no one cared about their free game thing crap. Was a pathethic attempt to do something good..
Epic giving away free games is the exact same thing. They're buying exclusivity from developers, which is super scummy, and they're trying to woo consumers with free shit. They're not a good company and are on a collision course with an anti-competition lawsuit.
I think giving free stuff to draw in customers for a shitty service is a pathetic attempt to do something good regardless of who does it
i literally just take all of the free games, and dont support the developer anyway
A story about my uncle is up for grabs!
I know it's not free but I have a 50% off voucher on steam for Frostpunk, would anyone like the voucher?, it's not my kinda game, well it's one I wouldn't mind playing but i'm not interested at the minute
Get Deponia
Oh hey, it's the Complete Journey version. I have the original trilogy in standalone, but this comes with a few extras, I believe. Definitely play them; they're great games. There was also a fourth one they made later; I think I have that, but I haven't cracked it open yet.
I also have one voucher, but I already have the game. Someone else want it?
Damn it, it's a point and click adventure. I'd really like to, but I hate those

Can I get 100% off the game lol?

https://www.epicgames.com/store/en-US/product/thimbleweed-park/home You have till march 7th to get this.
I can't recommend this game enough if you enjoy Monkey Island and similar titles. Really good game!
so uh, for how long are they planing to give out free games, and how does this benefit the indie developers that are giving their games away?
Epic Games pays the developers for each copy that they gift
