The David Cage Appreciation & Support Thread (Detroit: Become Human, Heavy Rain)

The fight right after the original peaceful march is pretty awesome though, and the final battle is rather cool too.
Just finished replaying Fahrenheit on Steam. What a shitshow, I didn't even remember it being that bad.
Sure there's a couple good ideas, even some good characters... But really, in the end, it's an incoherent mish mash between Se7en, The Matrix, Max Payne and Deus Ex where it's hard to believe that any character puts any credence into this completely incoherent plot.
Favorite part: when half-dead Lucas starts explaining to the cop chasing him that the Illuminati are after a supernatural child because of some Mayan prophecy and the cop literally says: "hard to believe... but it makes sense". I died right there.
Most David Cage-y part:
One of the first scenes in the game where getting a guitar playing QTE right means you get to have instant sex with your ex-girlfriend. And thrusting is also a QTE. It was very painful.
In the case of Fahrenheit/Indigo Prophecy I'm willing to give Cage a pass because, in his original design, the game was going to be an episodic release, so (at the very least) all the ancient conspiracies elements were going to be introduced and resolved in a better fashion and pace than just being crammed in the last hour or so of the game.
Unfortunately, at the time of development the whole concept of episodic gaming wasn't as accepted and collaudated as it is today, so the executives forced Cage to insert the whole, long story he had in mind in a single game, with the problems everyone who ever played this game could easily point out
That's interesting, I never knew that. Also interesting to note how Telltale later made a fortune from transposing David Cage's gameplay into an episodic format. I guess he's more of a visionary than expected.
The best thing out of Detroit outside of Connor/Hank is the fanart.

Finally, all the best David Cage memes are leaving the Sony cage and coming to PC. Coming soon to the Epic Store, all of David Cage's masterpieces (and also Beyond Two Souls). And to Steam as well, a little less soon.

Well, I can say that at least Quantic Dream didn't actually get my hopes up for a day one Steam release, like the others that have gone exclusive.
That's to say i'm not disappointed, but i'm willing to cut some slack about the news.
See you 2020 Detroit! :-/
