All unrolled and uranked.
Don't scam me.
Just got back into the game with a friend. Let the grinding begin (again)!
Great! How far are you guys now that you're back? Has it been 5 years like me
Around a year and a half, maybe a bit more. Even then, we feel kinda lost! It's hard coming back into WF after a hiatus, it's like you're learning the game again.
Excited to play the new story quest though. It's pretty funny that our friend group used to joke about how WF didn't have a story, and we used to theoroize about what Warframes are and how they work. And now there's basically a big campaign of quests. Damn do I wish that I could play Second Dream for the first time again.
One of us is MR10, I'm MR13, and another is MR20 (he's been playing for some time after we quit tho).
You guys should definitely do The Sacrifice quest first. It gives you free stuff (that's actually really good) and its all around a great time. Except for that part where they make you look for grey things in a grey courtyard and you're just lost lol.
You also missed Plains of Eidolon too I take it? Hunting the big bois is super fun and an incredible experience, but it takes a ton of investment before you're remotely ready to take them all on. Try and rank up with Cetus and The Quills as you can!
I still find the hype over The Sacrifice overblown, but then again I have a dislike for anything that forces me to fight in kid mode.
It may not be the first time, but to my knowledge, The Second Dream and The War Within are replayable quests.
Sacrifice was alright, but I still think War Within is the best cinematic quest they've done.
Second Dream had an amazing reveal, but as a whole I don't think it quite compared. And Sacrifice brought some cool lore about Umbra and moved the Lotus/Ballas plot forward, but the rest of the lore was stuff we kinda knew, just officialized.
Since The Sacrifice is now also out on consoles, I thought I'd post a cheesy little comic I made about it recently. Good thing we've got a thumbnail-ifier for big pictures now!

Free Ash Prime this saturday
https://www.twitch.tv/events/QQPkQJNAT46rkdyxauhGMQ
Ash Prime for free too? Holy moly.
My only Prime is Nekros Prime so I'll definitely be watching.
Free Primes are always nice but Ash is kinda lame imo
Not a big fan of stealthy characters honestly
It'll be a nice free slot
To be fair though I'm not sure how stealthily most people play Ash, I think he's most commonly mirage's half-blender cousin
Do you have Twitch/Amazon Prime? You can get Trinity Prime for free (if you use it anyway) then too.
Honestly I'd just like Ash to get a rework similar to Saryn in having more synergy in his kit and feeling smooth to play. I'm mainly thinking about shuriken and teleport since bladestorm and invis feel like they're in a good spot. Maybe shuriken could tag enemies for bladestorm and could be charged up to send out more projectiles. Teleport could consume tags on an enemy for a buff. In general I like it when abilities complement each other.
time to make a twitch account and never use it again after
Nope. I don't get enough stuff from Amazon or watch enough Twitch to justify either. Thanks for the tip though!
So, I just finished the Sacrifice. And it's pretty... eh? I feel like I'm missing a lot of things, or maybe I wasn't paying much attention? It felt like the story finished in the blink of an eye, without much umph. Like there's supposed to be a second half or something. And that it was already pretty rushed.
Also, maybe it's just me, but any parts involving just the Operator are super boring imo. I know they're an important part of the story and all, but I just groan whenever I'm forced to transfer. Especially since, gameplay-wise, they still kinda feel like a half-baked concept. Didn't help that those moments were prevalent during this mission.
I hope the next story mission isn't too far away, because this was kinda disappointing, ngl. At least I get to check out the Plains of Eidolon expansion now, and play around with the Warframes I didn't get to check out (Octavia, Harrow, Gara, Khora).
Is Silva and Aegis any good? I like the concept of a sword and shield made of fuckin fire but the pure fire damage is a little concerning
i'd probably make it either way cause fuck it, its mastery points
Regular Silva & Aegis seems a bit lackluster from my experience, but the Prime variant is pretty good.
Ash is not a stealth frame, esp with umbral mods. He's mutli range murder hobo that can enter a state of doing 8 times more damage at will.
Silva & Aegis Prime is a great weapon. The regular version has like a tenth of the stats, its sort of hilarious how bad it is comparatively
Are all quests solo-only or can you do them with a squad?
I seem to remember doing the Archwing Interception part of the Limbo Theorem with someone else
A good number of quests can be played with friends, though you may come across parts of them that are singleplayer only.
Most Operator sections quests are solo, most every other quest can be done with peeps, though for some it has to be their actively set quest with the appropriate thingie like Inaros' canopic jar or whatever.
