Somewhat disappointed that a massive scaled up mini-Nuke explosion didn't go off and kill everyone at random points in the video.
I was honestly expecting that to happen the second they left Doc Mitchell's house.
anyone else still bothered by that in For Auld Lang Syne there's no "I'm only siding with NCR as facade and once we win Hoover Dam i'm kicking them the fuck out of the Mojave with my robot army" choice when trying to convince Orion to join? I know if you have wild child rep with NCR or a high speech level you can convince him but i still found that annoying
Probably because he wouldn't really have a reason to believe you if you're Idolized by the NCR and have never done anything bad to them ever. If you have an amazing reputation with the NCR, and are openly working with them, then it's pretty reasonable to assume that your end goals are the same as theirs. The wild child reputation requirement shows him that you are working with them, but it's just to further your own goals, and you're not afraid to fight the NCR to get what you want.
[SUCCEEDED] hmm, really good point actually. didn't think about it like that
So some time ago I actually went ahead and asked Chris Avellone if the courier is always the person Ulysses claims they are (with their involvement in the divide and all) and I got a response.

So I guess all the options to tell Ulysses he's got the wrong guy are just denial ?
I'm having a issue with Fallout 4 where the Disk Usage Spikes 100% is there any performance tweaks I can use? Running the Game off a Samsung SSD 850 EVO
ayy, 850 EVO buddies.
It's a great drive! Not too expensive which is a huge bonus.
playing fallout 4 on my ps4 was a piece of shit, the mod support is fucking trash.
As much as I fucking love New Vegas, even this time around there's that one feature that has always pissed me off to no end, especially because, unlike many problems from the game, this one can't be fixed with any mod I know of: companion quests.
Now in Fallout 4, much like as any roleplaying videogame in existence, unlocking companion quests is tied to a companion given approval rating, which can be boosted or lowered by performing common actions during gameplay or, much more rarely, by picking certain choices or dialogue options. As such, if you hang around a certain Fallout 4 companion long enough, chances are you'll trigger his/her/its companion quest, sooner or later, unless you are actively trying to piss him/her/it off or your playing style is uncompatible with his/her/its disposition.
In New Vegas instead you have things akin to specific triggers unique for each companions: if you have the right companion with you, doing something (which can be as easy as interact with a ready available NPC or as hard as raid an entire town under the control of an enemy faction) will increase an hidden value of sort. If you got enough "points" with a given companion or certain conditions will be met, you'll finally unlock the associated companion quest.
This system is made extremely frustrating however due to the following factors:
You can't know in advance if a companion may have a companion quest attached at all.
Some times talking with a companion may give you a hint about what you need to do in order to meet the quest's requirements. Some other times you get obscure nods about what you are supposed to do. Some other times still you get nothing at all. There are also certain requirements which are either counterintuitive gameplay-wise or require an obscene amount of specific circumstances.
Some of the requirements are one-time only, meaning that if you didn't perform the required action with the right companion at your side then the opportunity is lost forever.
Said requirements aren't tracked whatsoever in your Pip-boy, even after you have discovered one or some of them, leaving you further clueless.
Let's remind that New Vegas, unless carefully modded, is very prone to bugs and scripts breaking, which may also affect the companions system.
Althought these quests are optional, the majority of the companions' ending slides will turn out downright depressing if you discovered a certain companion but didn't bother/couldn't complete his/her/its companion quest, or completed in a "bad" way
So basically you either stick around with a companion you care about long enough so that at some points you'll just bump into his/her/its quest by complete accident or you open your browser, check the Fallout wiki and come up with a very intricate plan to achieve all the requirements in a single playthrought.
Rose is far better at this, since she'll give her companion quest right off the bat, while, on the other side of the spectrum, Bonne may as well go fuck himself
I still need to consult the wiki to see what needs to be done in the right order even after 500 years of playing
Want to get Raul's quest? Hope you didn't talk to too many old people without him!
Also, no one knows how Lily's quest triggers. Some people claim to know but they're lying.
Lilys quest triggers are random I believe, you might get it you might not.
Boone's and Arcade's quest triggers were real annoying without a guide. At least most of Raul's can be done anytime
Let's not forget they can be bugged and not trigger at all, despite doing all the stuff available to activate the quests.
I just unlock the quests with console commands at this point.
You can fail Boone's quest and he'll still act like you did it. you don't get his perk though.
As far as I know Raul's quest is about talking to three old fart NPCs stationed at certain NCR outposts, and you can trigger the related unmarked stages even if you talk about time a second or third time: the only thing it matters is Raul being there. I'm saving Raul recruitment and the quest for when I'll have to do Volare!, since one of said old farts is among the Boomers.
Regarding Lily's quest, I'd like to quote what the Fallout wiki has to say about it:
At a certain point, if Lily Bowen is the active Companion, the Courier may begin to hear a recording of children greeting their grandmother. This signals the start of Lily's unmarked quest. The playback of the recording of her grandchildren occurs when the following conditions are all satisfied:
The Courier has talked to Lily about Leo and replied about it (generally available in her typical dialogue tree asking her about herself)
The Courier witnessed her suffer a psychotic break during combat (health is reduced to about half or below, the Courier can cause her health to be reduced to half or below and does not have to be in combat and it causes the same outcome) and talked with her about it
You have witnessed her taking her medicine and talked to her about it (new dialogue option available in dialogue tree asking her about herself) She says "Medicine Time", "Hush Leo; it's medicine time now" or "Grandma has to take her pills now, Dearie" when she takes her medicine.
The Courier slept, waited or fast traveled.
To complete the quest, the Courier must listen to the entire recording and then open a dialogue with Lily.
... Easy as fuck, eh?
Annoying part is that Lily is tough as fuck. Had to wait for Legion Assassins to jump us and then start blasting her in the back to drop her health low enough.

I think I might play with too many mods because she drops like a mofo for me.
Wow, i thought i recognized the voice. Didnt even know oxhorn was still active in youtube. I remember watching him with my dad like 12 years ago when we played World of Warcraft.
He makes tons of Fallout lore videos.
Which is funny, because I think Boone is the only companion whose plot I ever got through without looking up how to. Comes down to him being available early in the game, and being super useful, so you keep him around while you go around and do things. On the other hand, I have serious doubts anyone has ever gotten Arcade's quest without the internet. And I didn't even know Raul existed beforehand.
What a rambling and incoherent response that 100% fails to understand the rationale behind the Fallout 4 New Vegas project. Dracomies has lost quite a bit of my respect on this one.
He sure is dismissive of games getting left behind graphically when he's making mods for fucking New Vegas, which looks like a potato game even at it's best.
So I managed to have Lily experiencing a breackdown during combat by fast travelling near the Vault 3 entrance (no shortage of fiends there) and shooting her in the head repeatedly myself.
While this unlocked extra dialogue, according to the wiki the next step in the Lily and Leo companion quest will be triggered once I'll witness her talking about and taking medicine.
Which happens at random during gameplay.
I Could Make You Care isn't faring much better, as I've already got the data from Vault 22 and diverted HELIOS' powers to the Strip and Camp Maccarran, so the only way to provide Veronica with something to show the Brotherhood is to collect that mysterious pulse rifle.
Which is in Boomers' territory and my progression hasn't taken me there yet.
For fuck's sake.
I'm kinda scared to play old school fallout boys, the most complicated game I've ever played is FNV
