tbh, I'd rather Obsidian make their own thing at this point.
Obsidian no longer has JE Sawyer or Chris Avellone so what would be the fucking point Sawyer's working somewhere else and Avellone is freelance, fyi
Quick poll. rate this post for me: Agree: I pre ordered Fallout 76 Disagree: I'm not planning on getting Fallout 76 at this time. Informative: I'm waiting for more information and gameplay before I make my decision. Great idea: Other I'm still on the fence about it, but I loved 4 so I'm sure I'll end up getting it just for the co op shenanigans.
Josh Sawyer is the design director at Obsidian, he hasn't gone anywhere. He might have done other wor with different companies but he's still at Obsidian for now.
Can someone with experience with the New Vegas GECK tell me if this is possible? I would like to create a perk as a mod where when using certain melee weapons, it will grant 10DT when attacking or blocking.
Tried to do some Fallout 4 modeling, and just can't get it to work. The 3ds max Fallout 4 tools seem to be absolute garbage, as it crashes max randomly. The model exports either don't work, or the model is way offset from where it actually was in max. I wish there was some official tools or at least less buggy ones. Blending is looking like th eonly option, but I really don't like it. What a shame. If only modeling wasn't getting increasingly convoluted for the beth games.
Remember! Bethesda gives modders the official tools that they use to make the game. The exact same tools! yeah they piss me off too, especially since it requires 2013 3DSMax, and save for 2014 max, any later or previous 3dsmax doesn't work.
I was defeated the other night by a single radroach. I was clearing out Sunshines Co-op for you friendly neighborhood settlement guide and when I opened the door to the nurse's cabin, the radroach popped out and knocked me out (using the knockout framework mod) in a single hit. I was a full health too. Woke up at the last safe area I slept with a huge debuff and had to wait for 3 days until it cleared. All from one radroach.
Clearly you need one of theses for all your radroach troubles. https://i.imgur.com/dPPWi6q.jpg
Why is Unarmed in NV affected by Endurance only? It makes no sense.
Probably didn't want Strength to be too overly necessary. Since it already governs melee weapons, carry weight, what weapons you can effectively use, and gives you unique dialog.
So my most recent playthrough of Fallout 4 has brought me to the Battle of Bunker Hill, and I was reminded of the first time I ran through this quest. I sided with the Institute on my first playthrough, and did a fair amount of BoS content but ultimately ignored the Railroad. So when Father told me about this big battle brewing over one of the more populated settlements, I thought I must have missed out on some serious build up. The battle just sort of comes out of nowhere, and is by far one of the most climatic confrontations in the entire game. The scope of this battle - in terms of NPCs going at it - far exceeds even most of the end-game missions. It's actually a pretty fun quest aside from the poor design (one can just sprint right through bunker hill, and infact, most of the enemies underground, to get to the synths exceedingly easily). So obviously on repeat playthroughs it ended up being one of the quests I looked forward to the most. But boy, what a disappointment Battle of Bunker Hill is in general. So that build up I swore I missed out on - it's basically non-existent either way. While I originally thought this was a quest that could be given by the three major factions, it's an Institute-only quest that includes the option of warning your favorite faction. So that's understandable, given how the Fallout 4 quest-structure generally goes. Warning your given faction even has them pledge to show up at the battle in force. Well, they all show up anyway, and warning the faction has no noticeable effect on the battle. Rather, the battle plays out more-or-less the same no matter who you're sided with, with a slight spawning advantage given to the players most allied faction. It's a bit of a let down, but only because of what it could be. New Vegas' Battle for Hoover Dam is the end-game climax, so obviously it has a lot more attention given to it. But I couldn't help but think to that and how differently the battle can play out depending on who you're sided with, and who you've supported otherwise. Imagine if the Battle of Bunker hill changed if you sided with the railroad, being a defense mission instead of an invasion? You could then have bonus points if the player has Bunker Hill as a settlement, allowing them time to build up their defenses. Imagine if the brotherhood never actually showed up unless you warned them, inwhich case the player enters the battle swooping down in a vertibird like a total wildcard. Anyway, to cut the rant short, Battle of Bunker Hill is one of the bigger disappointments in terms of quests. The quest truly does allow the player to unleash and have a good time shooting people, but it's so under-designed and rushed, it kind of fails at that, too. Bonus complaint: If you haven't been to Bunker Hill before the quest starts, the front door is still locked and Kessler or whoever will still try and initiate dialogue with the player while a fucken' war is going on around them.
I played that quest just yesterday, and it never fails to underwhelm me. The best part is, most of the time, you're still allied with all three factions at war, so you can just walk through the carnage without participating in the least. Although I do like to always kill all the Brotherhood guys and strip their power armor, or take the many gauss rifles from the Railroad to equip my own settlers. Of course, this modded-to-fuck playthrough created a few problems, like how the Railroad guys started shooting up the Bunker Hill townspeople once the other factions were dead. That and everyone in the underground bit was completely invincible. I fucked around a bit in there before I realized I didn't actually have to do anything down there and left. It would be a lot better if the BOS didn't show up unless you called them. In the debriefing after, Father even says that there is no possible way they could know when he's being suspicious of you. If you told them, that plays fine, if you didn't, it just leave you wondering how it happened. It's also a shame that you have to do this quest if you want Bunker Hill as a settlement, since apparently Kessler's line of reasoning is "You can pull so much heat down on us, I'm just going to go ahead and let you do whatever you want, fuck it."
My first run through of the quest was weird because I sided only with my bois in the brotherhood and ignored every other faction, which meant this battle had no context or build up at all, so I was very confused. I've done it once more since then and I'm still confused about bunker hill as a whole.
I may have fucked up my FO4 save. please help. I have 270 mods running (Yes seriously) and the game has worked fine up to this point. I unfortunately downloaded something from the retarded Bethesda mod utility in the main menu and immediately regretted it. After launching the game, all my mods act like they're freshly installed, removing all my gear that was from those mods, and removing everything from the leveled lists as well. This happens every time I launch the game. any ideas?
So if Fallout 76 is going to end up being a long-term service-type game model, with an emphasis on cosmetics, we better fuckin finally get some officially representation of the ranger armor from Beth. I don't care how lore breaking it is, if everyone is going to inevitably be dressing up in silly outfits and painting their armors with stupid colours anyway, we better get some pure fan service armor as well. And you better not fucking call it "merc gear" this time either, you shits.
I did not even know battle for bunker hill was a thing let alone visit that place during my first full playthrough, still have yet to trigger it in any other
Went through my plugin list ave deleted things that were negligible or redundant, got it down to 225 plugins. Seems to have fixed it. All my gear vanished, but it's not doing it every time I launch the game.
I still don't even know how you found 270 mods you thought were worth installing. I'm on 24 and could probably do without a few.
200 hours in NV and I only recently found out that you can hotkey weapons with the number buttons (with the exception of the '2' key) and switch ammo type instantly by pressing '2'.
i wanna do a play through of each game, killing every possible npc you can to see how it affects the ending of the game. that'll give me something to do next weekend.
Wait what! How, how can I do that??
Hold a number key and click on the item you want in that slot.
It was like that in FO3 as well. I don't think that was ever explained anywhere in game or I just missed it because I didn't figure out you could do that until I was like halfway through the game Same with Skyrim, I didn't know there was both a hotkey system and the little favorite gear menu until my second playthrough
You can also hotkey clothing too. Quite useful if your using mods with Gas masks, or visual effect items, like goggles
Well upwards of 100 of them are just gun mods. The rest are mods that improve gear that npcs are wearing. I like variety :[
I don't know how you don't find 270 mods worth installing. Not to defend the Fallout 4 modding scene at this point, there's really not that much with substance there, but if you like variety you'll have a hard time not installing shit. From gun mods to nitpicky little immersive touches, my poor plugins list is absolutely saturated with mods. That's just Fallout 4, I don't even want to think about how many mods I've crammed into a TTW-enabled New Vegas copy.
I also discovered this super late in bethesda games. It's been something you could do since oblivion (maybe even morrowind, but I can't get that game to work so I don't know) but it's often explained to you very very briefly in a tutorial window and never mentioned again or listed in the controls section. I was playing skyrim by the time I started actually using hotkeys the way they are supposed to be used.
I could easily got into around the 500 mod mark.
Today I realized that I forgot to uninstall the old Service Rifle mod before installing the new one. I visited the decayed reactor site and was like "oh look, the All-American" turn around and see another All-American laying nearby and was really confused.
