Is there any way to make it so you don't have to log in everytime you go on the eShop? It's kind of a hassle.
Within the eShop settings (top right with your icon) will be options to change when you have to sign in- I have all restrictions turned off for quickest convenience.
I know this thread doesn’t talk a lot about BOTW anymore, but I just picked up the all the dlc and I like it so far.
The champions ballad feels like the main story so much. I feel like finishing that dlc with all the standard memories, with the sword and shield should really have like a true final ending. I never realized how incomplete the main story felt until you add in the champions ballad
I agree with you on that. Really I think the Champion's Ballad should have been base game or something of the sort and just had a DLC that added a whole new area (Maybe to the great abyss/plateus that are around hyrule). They're good DLCs and Champions is my favourite. My only issue is with the Master Sword Trials. They're just so gruelingly stressful. It took me forever just to beat the beginners trial. I am more than likely just bad. However, I do not have fun schlogging through the master sword trials like I did doing the Champions Ballad.
Breath of the Wild is a game though that really fed every aspect of what I wanted in a game. Many people knock it for not being a true Zelda, but it was BOTW that made me pay any REAL care for Zelda and its lore/world in the first place.
I noticed this Running With Scissors post about the exploit that allows running homebrew applications on the Switch
Alrighty Nintendo, get ready for going Postal!
For those of you who've bought into Paladins, is there anything to grind for since you unlock the heroes with purchase? Are there loot boxes for skins and stuff like in OW?
Grind gives you gold and experience. Gold can be used to increase mastery faster, which gives you access to their other legendary perks faster. Otherwise it's cosmetics.
Ah, thanks. I've read an incredible amount of buy/don't buy about it and I'm still on the fence.
RE: Fortnite - I haven't played on PC, but the whole jump-in-close-quarters-to-avoid-being-shot is fucking brutal to play against while using a controller.
Not sure if it has changed much, haven't played Paladins in a sweet while, but from just playing fairly casually since early beta I've had more than enough gold to unlock all characters a couple of times over. Buying into it probably isn't worthwhile, try playing it for a while to see how much gold you get.
As for progression in Paladins, it pretty much boils down to "Battle Passes" now a la Fortnite. At certain Mastery levels you get access to unique skins and such, but it's not that big of a deal.
Gold is only used for unlocking Champions, leveling up Champion Mastery quicker, and buying recolor/mastery skins.
Looks like the used game Switch market is about to get risky:

will you get banned for trying to use it?
From what people are saying. Trying to use a pirated cart will ban your whole console from doing anything online. Including e-shop.
I'd be bitter too if I fucked up so hard that you can just download anything you want, new or old, right off of the eShop with nothing more than a registry key. 3DS piracy is so easy it's downright embarrassing.
And now the Switch can be exploited with a paper clip.
What is with Nintendo consoles being so damn hackable?
Nintendo still can't get online done correctly. So it doesn't surprise me they haven't figured out how to make an hard to exploit system.
I believe the paper clip problem was more on Nvidia: by not making a custom chip for the system, all the documentation for the base chip worked for the switch, letting hackers exploit it easily. I might be mixing this up with something else, but regardless it will be fixed eventually if it hasn't already
you're correct. the only thing nintendo can do to fix the exploit is to revise the hardware, so there's nothing they can do about existing consoles

Things may not be as simple as they first appear, perhaps.
A translated interview with Sakurai regarding the changes done to Smash Ultimate.

Personally speaking, I find that, when I pick up a fighting game, I often put it down before I get around to playing all of the different characters. The more characters there are, the more that go untouched, and the less strategic things become, so it’s hard to say that simply adding more characters is a flawless idea. However, Smash is a character-based fighting game, and there are plenty of players out there eagerly awaiting the opportunity to play as their favorite character. I wrestled with this problem quite a bit while deciding whether to include everyone.
Take racing games, for example. Rather than allow players to use any car from the very beginning, I feel it’s more enjoyable from a gaming perspective to have players earn winnings from races and purchase new models that way. This type of game enables players to develop a strong attachment to the cars they acquire. I’ve included a similar process in Smash by which each unlockable fighter is obtained.
Players now select the stage before selecting their characters. This allows them to consider a fighter’s compatibility with the field of battle. If you set the rules so that the loser picks the next stage, this makes for a fairer competition.
The interview is in two parts. The second part isn't released yet.
Post that in the Smash thread instead
IGN officially reviewed the Octo Expansion

what's the current splatoon 2 meta? it's been a long time since i played but last time i did the aerospray mg was it
I have to be honest: There were some really cool parts in Octo Expansion. But the others... it was more frustrating than fun. Rail sections, the ones fighting AI enemy players. Just not fun.
I loved the octo expansion, except for the rails sections.
The ending made it all worth it too.

I literally bought Splatoon 2 the other day (it was on sale and I got a new job, so I nabbed that an a Mario Tennis preorder to treat myself), so this is sure to be a huge help to get back into it.
