"Updated the models for The Frontier Djustice, The Rotation Sensation,
and the Elf Esteem to fix display problems with unusual effects"
What's a Frontier Djustice?
well this kinda throws me off
would expect them to put all their eggs into one basket again with the good ol' summer silence before the big boy update, wonder if we are looking at another 500 days, late july, or october here
Oh that's the hat name, okay. I thought it was a stupid mispelling.
There isn't anything hidden in the files that have been updated/changed for this patch
sorry, no leaks - guess we gotta wait for the actual summer update
if there is going to be one.
There's going to be one, no doubt. If only since TF2 ending support would cause uncertainty for CSGO's and Dota 2's economies after it would be shown that the games have a EOL date.
What happened to NEMU's servers? They just disappeared around December. Kinda sad, I really enjoyed it.
What are some good community servers now a days? I usually just hang out in Fucked in the Head servers, but theyre only active late at night for me
the furry pound #4 is the only one consistently populated that I follow. It's dfefinitely slowed down over the years (it used to always be full 24/24, even early in the morning, but now it has to be a weeknight or weekend to be full), but I can still find a consistent amount of games. At least, until people vote for tc_hydro as the next map again, which without fail kills the server. Turn off sprays and tweak chat visibility settings and you won't even notice the copious amounts of uncensored furry porn and roleplaying.
I've been auto-balanced 3 times in one match, it's quite funny and annoying at the same time. Makes you wonder why you put any real effort into something only to have to turn around and bite you in the ass. Best one was when I was auto-balanced while ubering a person lol. Over all though, if you get auto-balanced you can thank the game abandoners who caused it to kick in. As Auto-Balance can only try to correct the issues of unbalanced team after it's became an issue thanks to game abandoners leaving the match.
I can't really tell how it works, outside of it kicking in trying to keep the teams even so that one team doesn't have have a more then 2 person advantage over the other. I can't tell you though how it picks people, it seems to be random. But it often seems to be of the higher scoring people most of the time. If you balance the teams skill wise though, how do you go about doing that? Take the highest scoring people in hope they can push back hard enough to get the other team of the others backs? Do you try to get people in the middle? You can't really auto-balance the low end players, as putting dead weight on the losing team will probably have no real effect on the outcome of the fight. Do you try to auto-balance the newest players on the server?
People also seem to leave after they get auto-balanced often, meaning it ruined the match enough that they'd rather leave themselves. A lot of people dislike the idea that they're getting punished now in place of the game abandoner who caused the problem in the first place.
It's funny, SPUD keeps making topics occasionally about having party immunity, medic immunity and engineer immunity ( those who have buildings set up) to auto-balance. Personally I hope that never becomes a thing myself. Just going to have people starting parties or going specific classes to avoid being auto-balanced.
Nah, I'm sure they're working on the update while having released this, the way how software development works lets you work on a small and a big update separately. TF Team never did really "hold off" a patch for a Major Update, e.g. they released a patch the day before Gun Mettle.
best part about the current autobalance system is that it provides you with endless oportunities to make the "I don't feel so well mr Stark" joke.
I'll give Valve three more weeks, then I'll brace myself for another 500 day wait.
I'd say wait till mid August before succumbing to Despair
Call me crazy, but I'm of the mind that the TF team is hard at work on the Heavy update, which is why I expect literally nothing aside from the occasional maintenance update (like the one we just got) and maybe another Scream Fortress (return of some old maps with some new workshop items) for at least another six months, minimum.
Then again, I haven't really been keeping up with TF2 news for the past few months, is there anything that would suggest a summer update? Any teases or announcements or anything? Cause considering how transparent they were with Jungle Inferno ("Hey, the update is coming, these are the weapon reworks MONTHS in advance"), I'd be really surprised if they decided to, well, surprise us.
I doubt the heavy update will take as long as JI did, if only because heavy would be a lot simpler to rebalance and wouldn't require an entire re-write of how his primaries work unlike how pyro had to get
See part of me agrees with that, but I also feel like the Heavy needs a similarly-structured re-work of how he functions as a class, just so that he can have a role as an actual TANK, rather than just "pushes cart/helps new players learn to play Sniper".
He's my favorite class and I love tearing shit up with him, but tearing shit up typically involves both a dedicated Medic and the other team not paying attention. Which isn't to say that the Heavy should be a one-man army, but he's not exactly a team player either, mainly because he's too slow for everyone else to rally around him like you'd expect them to, seeing as how he's the biggest target with the most disposable health.

TF2 cheats can now delay hitboxes.
I'm a little glad I stopped playing this game, I can't stand hackers anymore.
Summer update or no, i'm glad to see at least some fixes and updates to comp mode.
Personally, i'd like to see these little fixes and patches more often tho.
They took a lot of time to fix competitive once again
How about you don't spread those videos around, essentially giving this vermin free promotion?
Besides, with the new report system these kind of people often get axed sooner or later.
I'm not giving anyone free promotion, I'm just showing a guy who hasn't been VAC banned for years, has been making different cheats, and constantly cheating in casual every time he plays.
I'm showing how "Well" Valve are handling the cheater problem.
The only people who are getting banned are the one who are using shit public cheats. People who are using paid cheats are barely touched.
That is free promotion, you are literally giving cheaters what they want; attention. Doesn't matter if its bad publicity or positive one, it's publicity, and that's all that matters.
Also no, not really. You are aware it doesnt matter if its paid cheats or free cheats, right? The system works after reports, and so far it has been fairly accurate given when I report cheaters, they get axed after a day or so.
Incase anyones interested, Alliance of Valiant Arms is shutting down June 29th, which will make the Black Rose permanently unobtainable. If you want the Black Rose and don't want to spend 17 keys (which is a price that will surely increase after the game is shut down), no better time than now.
Isn't that cheat just cl_interp 0.5 but you actually get to know where to shoot at? Wow, they made a gimmicky playstyle even easier somehow. Funnily enough it wouldn't be a problem if servers had a way to cap the maximum lerp possible, though.
I mean really valve needs to update the net settings in general so they aren't based on dialup settings
the max should really be 100ms and the default should be 33
It's already limited (in a way, only in cl_interp_ratio). cl_interp_ratio should be the only command as it was added in the Orange Box, and cl_interp snuck back to the TF2's version of Source Engine for some weird reason.
Aren’t there glitched tradable ones?
Facepunch isn't exactly as popular as it used to be 5-6 years ago in regards to TF2 content, so any videos about hacks posted here are likely to have a negligible effect, really.
I'm aware, however its still promoting their garbage. Doesn't matter if the people seeing it are 5000 or 50.
