I agree with this, kicking the Medic because he won't pocket you is essentially you just saying "Well if he won't heal me, nobody can get healed!"
It's easier to report hackers when you actually know that they're hacking.
like that medic, who hacked his common sense away AND DID NOT POCKET THE SOLDIER.
You dont exactly have to have an eagle eye when ya see the Spy stabbing fellas that are long gone or teleporting around, aye?
There are real joys to playing pub medic:  I'm trying to build uber, healing a sniper because he's the only person currently holding still and (ahem) outside of the obvious sniper sight line.  Scout double jumps in and moves to meatshot.  Snipers moves out of the way and lets me tank the damage for him.  It's random crit, but a poorly aimed one.  I'm left with 4HP.  I manage to run behind a sentry to escape the scout.  That's how medic works, y'see.  You want him to take any incoming damage whenever possible.  Medics are like dispensers that only heal you.  If they die, you wait for them to respawn so they can heal you some more.  Sometimes they have uber, but they were a [bundle of sticks] who popped on the Heavy and not you.
whenever i see a good medic in a pub and its a newcomer i give him an item or two. helps new players understand the value of a medic in any team, and how medics can literally push an entire team foward with their support.
the tickrate is 66 so 33 is like good in some way(?) I'm not an expert on it but that's the value that's been in optimisation configs and stuff, as more reliable than 15.2 I suggest mastercoms documentation on mastercomfig thread and etc. It probably is explained there.
weird thought but what if the cloak and dagger had unlimited invis, but used the spy's health as a resource and gradually drained it
it wouldn't have unlimited invis and it'd also kill you
It'd be bad and incredibly hard to balance. I think the Cloak and Dagger's current design is absolutely fine, I'd even say there's little reason to use the stock invis watch over it unless it's a very big map. Being able to basically pick and choose where you can pop out whenever you want is huge, and it has a good trade-off of having to be patient with your movements. Plus, if it was changed, you wouldn't be able to sit in an engineer's nest and spam voice commands all day.
old cnd was perfectly fine. didn't even need a buff. don't cater to awful idiot players using items wrong
The old cnd was called the “Camp and Dagger” for a reason, because the only thing you could do was sit around waiting for your cloak to regen. That was ass, and being able to pick up ammo for it creates more use out of the weapon and therefore the spy class, and encourages active play since you have to decloak to do so.
Overwatch got its own hamster now. no excuses valve, give us the guard dog.
you weren't supposed to move around much with it. it's the watch of opportunity. it's literally its core design. giving it ammo regen just makes it far too similar to stock. Boring.
I didn't know this kind of hack was a thing. I would have blamed it on ordinary interp abuse.
which if ya ask me already warrants a kick and report for griefing.
As usual TF2 did it first https://wiki.teamfortress.com/w/images/thumb/b/bc/RED_Space_Hamster_Hammy.png/61px-RED_Space_Hamster_Hammy.png
And then before TF2, Block'n'Load did it first https://cdn.mmos.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/blocknloadrolypolygif.gif Seen it all before, not that creative of OW Team. But I'm sure people will praise it all the same.
You say that like putting a hamster into a shooter game is just something every shooter does. People will praise it because it's creative, and being original is not a requirement for being creative. TF2 literally based its entire artstyle, universe, and graphic design around pre-existing 1960's-1970's spy movies. It was still praised because it's creative.
hahah, literally the first thing i thought of was this. im glad im not the only one
"Tons of people will praise it all the same" implies otherwise.
And I was responding about how it's stupid to do that just because they added a hamster character.
Perhaps kill this back and forth, please? It isn't going anywhere. I give Overwatch praise for it's character design, aside for the "let's attach a cybernetic limb" which looks lazy at times. Part of me is genuinely curious though how this character is 'lore friendly' as honestly this hamster character looks like something that'd fit in Paladins, not Overwatch. And no I'm not just shitting on it because Overwatch did it, even if I expect a little more creativity from a company like Blizz. I just see a dozen people praising it for the hamster and not the design. Just pointing out it's not the first game to do so.
Roller bots are as old as this https://youtu.be/6-NXQQUKTlQ?t=192
First thing I thought of was the Droideka Droids from the Starwar's Prequels that were controlled by a character from Hamtaro lol... The droids in that game though definitely predate the Starwar's Prequels though. I'm so glad though that after the... I believe it was Engineer and Spy that were the last two classes added they decide to stay with nine classes afterwards. All it would do at this point is just complicate the game more then it needs to be. Hell, Blizzard keeps redoing characters they're not sure what to do with and yet they still keep creating and tossing new characters in even though the base still isn't fine tuned yet at all.
nobody at overwatch team ever implied it was a wholly original idea. it's hardly being praised by the community for its originality as much as just it being a cute weird thing. This conversation is pointless, especially within the TF2 GENERAL.
Initially I wanted to keep this to myself and show this after like 3 weeks in case we don't get an update to prevent the downward spiral into despair but given people already are talking about overwatch; Saw a bunch of fellas talk about Community Servers, and how most of theirs died - felt kinda emotionally frustrated so I wrote a pretty darn long email to Jill-man about the issue, surprisingly enough I got a response. https://i.imgur.com/sMkm1m2.png So yeah, take that as you will.
God's work, mate. I'd be incredibly happy to at least see community servers share the spotlight with quickplay, if not outright added back to the quickplay queue (with proper requirements met such as no modifying game files).
i'd be happy if quickplay allowed community servers, but it should meet certain requirements, I.E no sourcemod or metamod
those are two very key server moderation and modification tools that help set apart community servers as a better experience vs valve servers imo, we need community server-only quickplay back, alongside a server rating/reputation/report system. higher-rated servers, for instance, could get queue priority, while servers that provide consistently negative/misleading experiences can be de-prioritized or outright removed from the quickplay queue if egregious enough. one of the big reasons that quickplay went to valve-only servers prior to the introduction of casual was because of bad actors like saigns.de and nightteam, which added literal pay-to-win mechanics to the game. servers like these were a fucking plague, and weren't killed off until valve servers took over quickplay entirely. any new system would need to both deal with bad actors like these while still enabling the best that community servers have to offer, from community maps, to better moderation...etc.
