Dude is so fucking talented. His Scout voice is excellent. Probably one of the most iconic voices from TF2 outside of the Administrator.
Rocket jumping wasn't a bug in TF2, it was added specifically as a feature just like other explosive jumping. Syringe jumping was a bug and got removed
Rocket Jumping and Spy as a class were both bugs that changed fundamental gameplay in unique manners without completely unbalancing it.This is just "you get more metal standing on top of dispensers". Not the kind of buff an Engineer would necessarily want or be looking for, and not the kind of change that's unique, balanced, or "well thought out", if we assumed it was thought out in the first place. I'm not like the guy that tweeted originally, I'm not gonna pin Jill to a wall with sarcasm and passive-agressiveness for giving a goofy response, but I wouldn't be surprised if a patch hits soon that removes it from the game as quick as it showed up.
ultra blocky stickyjumper model using lowest lod was confirmed "intended" at some point
take it with a grain of salt
Why would they even try to pass off one weapon looking like chunky garbage as intended?
It's not a bug

like v1 minis. Absolutely a feature.
in any case, standing on top of your dispenser makes you so much vulnerable might as well stay that way as a tradeoff.
It's not pro at all. Pro implies a necessary experience to recreate the advantage. All this takes is having space bound to jump. Why should new players be punished for not knowing the dispenser for literally no reason doubles ammo from above.
Or maybe they could get that improved training map from the workshop and make it more presentable and required before being able to play online?
They can not only solve a problem requested by the community but also not have the solution once gain ready on their plates, apart from some slight refinement and seeing if the creator of the map still plays tf2.
actually you need a duckjump
everyone knows pros duckjump all the time
I'm sure Jill's just joking and there's not much to it, just another bug to the pile to fix. No need to dissect literally everything he says and take it at face value.
the combination of japester dev + desperate, content dried community is very bad
Yeah it's very clear he's joking about it being a feature and possibly wasn't even aware of it.
I wouldn't really mind it staying, it doesn't really seem like anything gamebreaking
If the TF devs don't want their indivudual offhand statements being dissected for meaning they should use any of the dozen resources available for announcement to clarify it for once in their fucking lives. (blogpost, subreddit, forum, hlds, so on)
radio silence is very bad
Although it is a kinda cool bug/feature, my personal stance is that all "hidden" attributes of items and gameplay elements should be disgarded if it is not obvious what they do. While a gimmick in most cases, getting metal quicker can be vital in some situations and give an unfair advantage to one team.
Wow, you really despise them at this point don't you?
amazing how over time, punchy and exor both became the other guy
They're probably aware TF fans will love and play the update no matter how long it takes, so they don't see any reason to change much.
see: Jungle Inferno
and i'll still be buying tickets no matter how garbage they make MvM
I don't know, I realize that I used to be a lot more inflammatory toward Valve, but I've learned that invective doesn't accomplish anything. They clearly aren't shaken by customer discontent, and continue to march to the beat of their own drum just as they've always done. At this point, constructive feedback, even if you feel it isn't being listened to, is better than any alternative; and this is especially important given the state of public "discussion" regarding this game.
On my end, I've been relatively pleased with their balance passes, and while there is so much more than can be done, at least I'm not left angry and nonplussed by some entirely illogical decision.
in other words they nerfed scout so im ok now
Exor I'm worried, you've changed man
me & my friends got into a dustbowl game against a team of 6 hackers all queued up who kept bindspamming racial slurs & shit.
their team couldn't and refused to kick them so we just decided to sit and conga in spawn.
first time i've seen hackers in weeks and when i find them i find them in bunches
Yeah, cheat devs are so cocky these days that most cheats I've seen recently usually have a "auto-insult" after kill that pulls a random offensive sentence from a seemingly endless pool. Plenty of cheats before them already show the world how "useless" VAC is, yet they still keep going. Do people really have that much of a hate-boner for the game that they need to ruin the fun for people who still genuinely enjoy it?
Queue ctf. You'll find 1-3 hackers every game.
I don't know, man. It might just be the region, but I haven't seen a hacker in weeks. In fact, I can say it's been MUCH worse before.
